It was recently reported that former Saturday Night Live alumnus Charles Rocket tragically took his own life. He worked under a few aliases, including, apparently, the name Charles Kennedy. Now I know the Charles Kennedy who is directing Gatchaman is not the late Charles Rocket, but is he the Charles Kennedy who did voice work for Steven Foster in Steel Angel Kurumi as Dr. Ayanokoji, and as a bearded salaryman in Colorful, or was that actually Charles Rocket?

Here are a few links that suggest Charles Rocket worked on a couple of ADV dubs:

I don't THINK that was Rocket - that said, everything I have with Rocket dates back from the 1980's (duh) so A/B-ing is even less useful. But while the voice does sound kinda similar, Ayanokoji doesn't trigger the severe Max Headroom flashback that I'd expect.
I get the feeling that someone borked ANN, and then that info went to IMDB (or vice versa).

(And a tip of the hat in memoriam to Rocket - as good a comic actor as he was, he didn't deserve to play the third string roles like he ended up with.)

Sorry, I was being stupid. Charles Campbell is directing Gatchaman. Too much Charles, not enough thinking. So it must have been Charles Rocket using his Charles Kennedy alias who was in those Steven Foster dubs.

This would be really interesting if it was him. However, considering that Rocket still did work in LA (some voicework) and for the most part was still a pretty big actor (most remember him from Dumb and Dumber)it would just seem so weird of him to move to Houston to just do voicework.

After listening to him as Kibitsu Kiss in Dunbine I actually think Charles Kennedy may be an alias of Mike Kleinhenz (though for what reason I don't know). This character definitely didn't remind me of the guy on SNL or the villain from Dumb and Dumber that's for sure.

I haven't watched Dunbine yet, but I know the Charles Kennedy who was in Steel Angel Kurumi and Colorful definitely wasn't Mike Kleinhenz. SAK and Colorful were both Steven Foster dubs, and he's known for bringing in some unexpected people to work in his shows, from Farscape's Claudia Black, to repeatedly bringing Dave Matranga in from out of town for various roles.
