After having marathoned Abenobashi a few days ago, I must say that I thoroughly loved Mike Vance's take on those recap intros for the episodes. He employs some neat, funny and unique inflections there!

And J. David Brimmer was just born to narrate in His and Her Circumstances. /images/graemlins/catgirl0.gif

Michael McConnohie in Ikki-Tousen is a no-brainer.

Also, if it counts, Shelley Calene-Black's narration of the Divergence Eve episode previews.

Especially the "alternate versions".

J Paul Shepard was a Monster Island VA that had an awesome voice for narration.

At the moment, probably Jennie Welch in Princess Tutu. She's doing great work in that series. It's a powerful delivery, and one that puts me in the mood to watch the episode.

George Manley in Gatchaman. Whenever his part comes up it really psyches me up for the show.

Aaron Dismuke at the beginning of FMA was good too, though I think I'm finally getting tired of it.

I've always been a big fan of Campbell Lane's narration in Gundam Wing.

I've always liked Alexander J. Rose as the narrator from Record of Lodoss War OAV and TV.

Oh yes - she's just fabulous in Tutu, and I'd love to be able to hear more from her. I dig George Manley in Gatchaman as well.

I like the little bit at the beginning of each episode of Planetes, I believe it was done by Dave Mallow.

I'm rather fond of the narration of the original Giant Robo dub.

"Earth! Marvelous world of our future! This is the Shizuma Drive..."

Yes, he's great in that.

I forgot who the voice of Darcia the First was in Wolf's Rain but he had an amazing monologue in the beginning of Episode 27.

English or Japanese, I think the opening narration to Grave of the Fireflies is not only on my favorite scenes in an anime, but an excellent, albiet brief, narration.

Due to the (for some reason little talked about but I thought excellent) dub for one of the latest Disney Ghibli releases, Pom Poko, I nominate the ever incomparable Maurice LeMarche.

Man, that was good.

Of course as has been said before George Manley in Gatchaman is a very memorable narrator.

Anything by Michael McConnohie is sure to be excellent too. Bobobo-bo Bobo-bo and Ikki-Tousen are great examples of this.

Dave Mallow is also great at roles like this because he has that natural narrative vocal quality that you normally hear in movie trailers and the like.

Tom Wyner also plays good narrators. His roles as such in Zillion, the original Macross dub, and Teknoman are quite memorable.

J. Jay Smith also did a pretty good job as the Robotech narrator.

I think Milton James has only done one role as a narrator which was in Doomed Megalopolis, but his devilish delivery worked perfectly.

How did I forget that? There is a lot of narration in Pom Poko too. A very very good job. It was almost like watching a majestic documentary piece but funner.
