DVD Forum approves twin rewriteable HD DVD formats (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/11/21/dvd_forum_rewriteable_hd/)

HD DVD-RW
HD DVD-RAM
HD DVD-R
HD DVD-R DL

Two different rewritable formats...
That should be enough to confuse joe avarage without adding BluRay /images/graemlins/wink.gif

They should just make a HD DVD+RW format as well to make sure they screw themselves over from ever getting the format adopted.

I bet that some five years down, if the format is still viable, some dolt consortium will diverge from the standard to add a non-standard "plus" variation and use stupid marketing to turn the standard "dash" into a "minus", while better, overselling the improvements, and add yet more confusion and incompatibilities.
