Just got back from Japan (my feet and wallet are killing me) and one of my prized aquisitions was a 2006 Yotsuba wall calendar. It's a collection of real photos of real life Japanese scenes with Yotsuba drawn in doing what Yotsuba does...

Here's one of my favorites: http://www.animeprime.com/misc/yotsuba.jpg

Yes, she's trying to outrun a train. /images/graemlins/catgirl0.gif

I got it at Animate, but other stores in Akihabara had it as well. A quick search when I got home didn't turn up and online source, but if you want one, I hope you can find it.

I also picked up a Yotuba/Eva dojinshi (not a naughty one, you sickos /images/graemlins/happy.gif ). Wish I could read it. Jumbo is the Evangelion unit, of course. /images/graemlins/happy.gif

Is there a website or anything with the other months' pictures at all?

I saw this in Animate the other day. It looked very cute, and it is a cool concept, but I don't think it's something I'd really be inclined to buy. (Even though I love the manga itself...)

As much as I love the comic and enjoy supporting Azuma I think I will hold out for the 2006 daily/Himeguri Yotsubato Calendar. The 2005 version (http://azumakiyohiko.com/archives/c_11.php) has been really fun and I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with the 2006 version.

BTW, does the color 2006 calendar actually have a different picture for each month? (His 2004 Yotsuba Calendar did if I recall correctly.) I've discovered many Japanese calendars tend to go for a two months at a time cop out.

Yes, there are 13 differnet pitures (one per month, plus the cover).

You can see about a quarter of them at Azuma's Yotsuba Studio (http://www.yotuba.com/2006cal_top.html).
And you can kinda sorta see a few others in the product image at Animate (https://www.animate-shop.jp/webshop70/commodity_param/ctc/calendar/shc/0/cmc/4034759).

Too cute. Wish it could be obtained easily online, I need to track a copy down.

Heh, nice, thanks for the links. I guess my only problem is that Yotsuba is too small and out of the way in the pics, but then again that's the whole point. Cool idea anwyays.

If it is anything like the 2005 daily, you've got nothing to fear.
