Gundam Seed R3 (HK) Box Sets + Naruto R3 (HK) Box Sets

Tried searching the forum here for reviews of both of these:

but had no luck. Anyone seen these releases? Just wondering about overall quality (video/audio) and if the English subtitles on the Gundam Seed sets were decent. Any info would be appreciated. On a related note, anyone know where to get English subtitles for Naruto? /images/graemlins/happy.gif Thanks!

The English sub sucks but the Chinese sub is ok IMO. /images/graemlins/happy.gif

Wow. So, what are the main differnces between the Naruto R3 and R2 releases.
I might have to buy that R3 set.

OK, so the English subtitles are bad. Bad as in useless, or bad as in not as good as a Region 1 release? How is the audio/video quality on the Gundam Seed sets? Anyone seen the Naruto sets? Thanks!

What I want to know is if the 5.1 is killer. With sound this great I'm half inclined to unload my R1s. This show is destined for 5.1 or better one day. Too bad it has one of my least favorite dubs....ever.

I believe the 5.1 only applies to the Cantonese dub.

I just got both Gundam Seed HK R3 DVD sets (all 50 episodes) - figured I would check them out myself as Lai Ying in NYC Chinatown had them on sale for $46.95 each. It turns out that there is a 5.1 mix for the Japanese audio as well as the Cantonese! From the quick look I took at some episodes it sounds like a good mix, and the video quality is great. The English subtitles are rough, but I have actually seen worse. Overall, I am very happy with the sets, and would recommend them as a viable cheaper alternative to the R1 discs, as long as you are aware of the subtitle issue.

I am still very interested in the Naruto HK R3 sets, so if anyone does pick them up, please post your impressions here. Thanks!
