What Anime Character Should Save Christmas?

As you know Christmas often needs to be saved for whatever reason. Many have saved Christmas over the years. However once again just like previous topic, it's time to decide the anime character who will save Christmas. Simply put all you have to say is what character is saving Christmas. Heck if you want you can go into more detail. Like is s/he saving Christmas from another anime character? One that wants to destroy Christmas. In any case my first suggestion as for the one to save Christmas? Why Tomo, Osaka, and Kagura of Azumanga Daioh are working together to save Christmas.

Hey I never said the suggestion had to make sense. Also obvious if you want you can have a group of characters working together to save Christmas, they don't even have to be from the same series. Just be reasonable.

I'd be rather amused if I got to see Shinji Ikari attempt a save.

I considered Pikachu. Ash and company already have saved Christmas once, so it'd be an easy bet to see the little electric rodent do it again, what, with only Team Rocket in the way.

But if there's one character who could do it all, you know it has to be Tohru Honda, of Fruits Basket. No magical powers, no futuristic technology, hell, not even any help. She could do it single handedly, and the world can dream of sugar plums, roast chestnuts, and have all the fruitcake to their hearts desire, in peace.

Mobile Fighter G Gundam: A Christmas Story (thought up briefly, written poorly, and very silly)

Rain's busy trying to set up a super-duper Christmas party for everyone. Chibodee's dressing up as Rudolph with the girls as other reindeer, Sai and George are dressing up as elves (which, in George's case, makes no sense because he's tall), and poor Argo, who never got to celebrate Christmas before because he was all locked up and stuff, is so overjoyed (on the inside) that he even agreed to dress up as Frosty the Snowman, which really doesn't have anything to do with Christmas specifically, but he likes the outfit and nobody's going to tell him otherwise since he could crush their heads with his bare hands. All those other characters with names and varying levels of unimportance are there too, but the most important thing is that Rain and Allenby are wearing some of those unreasonably tight, irresponsibly small, and incredibly sexy Santa-type outfits. It's a hell of a party and the gang's all there, but there's no Santa!

"It's not going to be much of a party without a Santa," says Allenby.

"I know," Rain replies sadly, "but even though I sewed him an outfit..."

"You can sew?"

"Shut it up, you. Anyway, without Domon here to be our Santa, it won't truly be a Christmas party."

"I can't believe him! You'd think he'd at least agree to dress up for his friends. Especially Argo. The poor guy's never celebrated Christmas before, and now he'll have to have his first Christmas Eve without a Santa. That Domon! I'll give him a good whack upside the head when I see him again!"

But his training is important," Rain sighs. "He has a lot to accomplish, and many trials to overcome, etc., etc."

Well, sure," Allenby says, "but don't his friends matter too?"

Away on a mountaintop in some remote area that's never clearly defined, Domon is training by doing martial arts or meditation or those other things you do when you go off to train by yourself for days at a time.

"If I don't get stronger, then I'll never be able to become the best fighter and find my brother," Domon thinks to himself.

"Ah, but that's where you're wrong, my former student!"

"What?!" Domon looks up to see Master Asia standing on an imposing column of rock that's appeared conveniently out of nowhere an appropriately dramatic distance away.

"Training your body to become strong, training your mind to become strong... those are not the only things you must do to find Kyoji!"

"Master East," shouts Domon, "I don't understand!"

"And that is why you will never accomplish your goals!"

Master Asia leaps at Domon, and they have an impressive fight that involves much punching, kicking, and clever martial arts trickery. Then they call up their Gundams, and fight some more. They shout things at each other, too. They both pull off that move with a name I can't remember, and in the middle of it, time slows down and there's an introspective moment where Domon somehow learns the true meaning of Christmas from Master Asia. Then there's an explosion and some blinding light, and when Domon is able to see again, Master Asia is gone.

"Now I know... I know what I have to do!"

And the God Gundam begins to glow brightly...

Back at wherever the party was, it's almost midnight, and while the festivities have been boisterous and full of cheer (Chibodee's Rudolph nose short-circuiting and nearly sending him to the hospital, a drunk Sai mocking the crap out of George for being too tall to be an elf, and Argo continually falling over due to his Frosty the Snowman outfit having no leg holes, plus some seemingly pointless yet much-welcomed fanservice moments featuring Rain and Allenby bending over or standing on stepladders or bursting out of their tops), everyone is still sad that Domon isn't there. Still, if only for Argo's sake, everyone's all hyperactive and moderately inebriated as the clock counts down to 12 AM.

"It's been such a fun night" sobs Rain, a crying drunk, "but that lousy Domon just had to go off and do his own thing and not care about any of us at all because he's just dumb and wants to fight and... and... he's just dumb!"

"That's right!" Allenby, a loud and crazy drunk, slings her arm around Rain's shoulders and shouts as loud as she can. "I'm gonna beat the crap out of him!" Rain just starts crying harder, so Allenby hugs her tightly while screaming words of calm and understanding in her ear. Sai elbows George, and they both stare at the girls with lecherous hopes of the two starting to make out or something because they're too drunk to know better. Chibodee's flat on his back, having successfully out-drunk everyone. And Argo's a little bit sad because of no Santa.

But then!

A bright light from above! Christmas music from everywhere! Herald angels singing!

"It's... it's a Gundam!" someone shouts.

But not just any Gundam. THE SANTA GUNDAM! It lands gloriously, with a peal of bells and a scent of cinnamon, and out steps Domon in the Santa suit Rain made for him. Everyone cheers, and Rain forgets about being sad and Allenby forgets about being angry, and Chibodee wakes up, and Argo clumsily makes his way in his Frosty suit over to Domon, who reaches into the big sack he has with him and hands Argo a present.

"Merry Christmas, Argo!" says Domon.

Argo's eyes fill with tears and he gives Domon a hug grand enough to fracture three of Domon's ribs, and everyone cheers again. Then the clock strikes midnight, and everyone cheers yet again, and more drinks are poured and all that stuff.

"Domon, this has been such a great Christmas," Rain says. "For Argo, and for all of us. Thank you for saving Christmas."

"No," says Domon, "Master East is the one you need to thank."

"Master Asia? But why?"

"If it weren't for his guidance, I would never have learned the true meaning of Christmas. He saved me, and so he was the one who really saved Christmas. Now I know I'll be able to become the best fighter, and I'll work towards my goals believing in myself and in Christmas. But I'll always remember to take the holiday off, even if I'm stuck in a crap part-time job and they want me to work that day because I'm the low man on the pole!"

"Oh, Domon!" And they smile at each other, but that's it since this takes place a ways before the end of the series. Then everyone starts singing a Christmas carol of some sort. Master Asia watches from a distance with a satisfied look on his face, and then turns and walks away all dramatic-like. The end credits play over a montage of stills made up like photos from the Christmas party, set to a rendition of "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" sung poorly in English by Tomokazu Seki. After the credits, a little SD Master Asia pops up with a sad look on his face with a dialogue balloon that says, "I wish I could've gone to the party, too," next to a little sad SD Kyoji Kasshu with a dialogue balloon reading, "At least you were in this episode."

Ah come on, you should know as well as everyone else that Christmas is constantly in danger and need of saving. It's like a tradition. In fact Christmas is saved every year, we just learn select Christmas stories. Thus there are many instances of Christmas being saved we don't know about.

Maybe because it's fresh in my mind, (or maybe it’s the links below,) but I think Sae Sawanoguchi and pals from Magic Users Club would save Christmas in grand fashion. They already saved the Earth, so it's an easy next step.

I'll not write something like Sakura did, but needless to say this would involve everyone getting in danger and Sae needing to find her confidence while stuck in some kind of subconscious winter wonderland, resulting in something big being turned into a very big Christmas tree. Sae would also kiss Takeo under some mistletoe. But on his cheek.

My nomination would go to Sugar from "A Tiny Snow Fairy Sugar". Sugar will create the special magical Christmas snow that will lifts the Christmas spirit of all the town's people. Some old image archive somewhere, probably long gone. Found them when I was putting together the recommendation page. I really wanted to get some holiday-themed avatars a couple weeks ago off those pics, but I couldn't get anything decent. /images/graemlins/sad.gif A good one of Sae in the middle there is the big reason I want the whole image. I'm guessing it's a two-page promotional magazine spread, but I can't tell from what. Notice the first one has been cropped, as well.
