King Records launched a site for Himawaritsu! (http://www.starchild.co.jp/special/himawari/#) featuring a lovely illustration by okama (http://okama.nicomi.com/).
With original chara designs (and production designs) by okama I´m already sold on the show. Then again what would I do for an anime adaption of CLOTH-ROAD /images/graemlins/cry00000.gif

Well, ninjas are nothing new but the designs look great. I'll definitely be checking this out.

I'm pretty sure both of you know well that ã?£ is supposed to be a silent beat, so why continue with the mistake?

Heh, personally I never even looked (never heard of this show before I responded to littleharlock) although I did notice the URL was Himawari not Himawaritsu, and yes, that's a small silent marker thingiemabob not actually 'tsu'.

the official site (http://www.starchild.co.jp/special/himawari/) went thru renewal and most of the sections are now open. Do check out the gallery section. There's also a 30 sec. promo that's out. Looks okay but i'm expecting better when the show airs in some days.

For whatever reason, this makes me think of both Tenchi and Someday's Dreamers at once. That could be fun.

Hmm... Mamiko Ikeda is definitely a name that sparks interest (particularly with Princess Tutu, Fruits Basket, and Keroro Gunsou). That looks like something to check out.

From the look of the site before they update it, I thought it was going to be a generic harem type show(ala Magikano). But from the frist episode, I liked what I saw. The backgrounds were nice, the characters looked great, and the episode was pretty good. Hopefully someone else will end up watching this with me /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif.

yeah, i also watched episode 1. the show's a lot more serious that i had thought. Art was not bad as they did an okay job IMO w/ okama's designs. Animation was pretty good. Nothing else grabbed me really. Anyways, this could prove a little bit interesting depeding on where it decides to head.

If nothing else I think they managed to capture the "fun/cut/colorful" intent of Okama's designs with the characters in this series. I was not all that impressed with how the characters for Glass no Kantai turned out even though it is a different genera, they didn't seem to transition Okama's art into the anime very well, doesn't seem like this will be a problem for Himawari!

However, it does look like it is going to be pretty basic fair (at least frm the first ep. anyway) but the character designs are fun enough to make me want to watch more.

So, I just watched 1-5, and went to find this thread only to see it hasn't been touched over three months /images/graemlins/sweat000.gif Anyone else watching this?

Due to various... factors... it's looking more and more like I'll never get to see past episode five, but I hope I do because it's been a pretty charming show so far. Himawari herself is an adorable mix of cute, clumsy and yet competent (moreso on the last then usual for characters who possess the first two, nice change of pace). Hayato himself is decent for a male lead, and I like that he reacts realistically at times -- I'd want to quit too at first if I were him /images/graemlins/sweat000.gif

The secondary characters, Himawari's four group members, are quickly growing on me. It was sort of annoying that Azami was yet another trap character, but such is life. I still find them decent enough anyay. I really like Shikimi as well, but after SHnY I'm in love with Hirano Aya (she so needs more more more roles) so it's not much of a surprise that I like Shikimi too.

Perhaps my favorite secondary character is Tsukiyohime XD All she does at present is show up in strange places, eat food and show characters magical visions in her soup, but she makes me smile so much.

At any rate, I very, very much hope I get to see more of this one day, as I enjoyed it far more than I anticipated I would. Himawari, so cute~~

I have watched till episode 12, with episode 13 being the last one which I don't know when it is going to air or if it will. I think the group that was doing himawari dropped it for inukami. There is a second season already announced Himawari 2nd season (http://www.starchild.co.jp/special/himawari2/index.html) .

I thought the show was cute, they spent too much time with side stories in the first 12 episodes instead of going into the real plot. I see the first 12 episode just as character development. hopefully the second season will bring interest back for the first season and you will be able to get pass episode 5. If you notice, they don't show Hayato in the 2nd season promo, i wonder if he is going to be dropped.

I skimmed the first episode of Inukami and all I saw was a naked man shooting lasers from his nipples, so I really hope not >_<

In a show like this, that's all I really ask for. If the second season wants to introduce some conflict though, I'm game.

You should give Inukami another chance, the first episode is a bad indication for the show. so far only there are 6 episodes available, the story is getting very good and if you like the humour and character development from Himawari, then give inukami a chance. you just need to turn you head when they come with the naked and elephant jokes. Episode 6 is comedy gold and you should watch that one. I was laughing a lot when I watched that episode.

I will (well, haven't even started it yet), I'm just bitter at the lack of Himawari, that's all. I wonder what the chances of a license for Himawari are... probably low. It's not a show they couldn't sell or anything, but I imagine it's pretty low profile for the R1 companies -- they likely don't notice it much.

I too have seen up to 5 for the same reasons. It feels a bit sterile in the character department, they're not very personable with the exception of Himawari herself, but the show is fun to watch and I'd love to see more.

That is why it took them 12 episodes of character development. The series is supposed to be 13 episodes but I have yet to see episode 13 anywhere. I think 13 might be a DVd only episode. Episode 12 ended with all the girls and the teacher taking a bath together.
