Is Sailor Moon manga (& Codename:Sailor V) affected by the anime's license not being renewed - or Toei?
Or is there another, unassociated reason. I hope its not just Tokyopop.
With the big shoujo fandom in manga here, it seems strange Sailor Moon is absent.

As far as I know, Toei has nothing whatsoever to do with the Sailor Moon manga. As for why it's out of print, I can only speculate - but remember that Sailor Moon is one of the titles that created the huge shoujo manga fanbase in the US.

Wasn't part of the speculation as to why Sailor Moon was going out of print due to the fact the the mangaka was wanting to renegotiate for a larger slice of the pie? Or has my brain gone totally to mush?

Now that you mention it, I remember hearing something similar. I'd rebuy the entire series in a heartbeat if it was released unflipped and with a better translation.

It's been on my must have list for a while. I don't even have my old Mixx copies anymore.

I'd love an unflipped retranslated edition released as well... especially considering my Mixx graphic novel set is beginning to deteriorate (whatever they used on these, I pray they're not using it now... I'd hate to think that my Love Hina, Rayearth, and .hack manga are doomed to fall apart in 5 years). An announcement would be great to hear, giving me time to trade in my volumes 16-18 (Sailorstars arc 1-3) for some of that proverbial fat cash. /images/graemlins/catgirl0.gif

I'd definetly re-buy the manga if they came out with it unflipped and re-translated. Oooh, they should release it with some kind of neato extra.
And they need to release Codename Sailor V. I've always wanted to read a real translation of it.

doinkies would like to buy an unflipped and redone English version of SM as well, especially using the recent Japanese rerelease. doinkies doesn't have any of the old Mixx tankies at all anymore...

The Mixx version was an outrage. /images/graemlins/anger200.gif
I'd LOVE to have a decent version released here, esp in light of how the Japanese versions got spiffed up and re-released.

I'm still trying to get the rest of SM Stars, but how easy do you think it is to find? NOT /images/graemlins/cry00000.gif

Zeb: I can see why you're upset about that... the Stars manga have become ridiculous online (who in the hell would want to pay $30-50/ea. for GNs doomed to fall apart?). Once in a while used manga come into a favorite locally owned store in my area at 1/2 cover price. I'll see what I can do for you (or any of you who are missing a manga) if one of those comes in.

Thank you very much indeed! I am in need of all 3 of them.
And yeah, I couldn't believe some of the prices I was seeing on eBay and the likes; and while I do love Sailor Moon, I just can't warrant paying that much ~_~

Just thought I'd add my voice to the list of people clamouring for a re-release! /images/graemlins/catgirl0.gif
