If you haven’t bought the series yet, then this is the no-brainer, slam-dunk, you’d-have-to-be-a-retard-not-to, must-have, perfect (anime) Christmas gift. At it’s full RRP it’s a bargain, at the current street price it’s indecently cheap, akin to stealing- go treat yourself. If you already own the individual volumes…… I’d hate to be in your shoes come shopping time!

A number of the volumes (at least 1-5) had slightly off timing at times, with episode 1 being completely out of sync for the first half or so.

The font also changed for the first 5 volumes each time, culminating in a disgusting mess involving teletext-style black borders on volume 5. Thankfully they were fixed for the last 2 discs. I believe I covered them in detail in the individual reviews.

Ah, if you hadn't told him, he might have watched in bliss.... now his viewing is blighted with forewarning.

Are the subtitles in time now though? I've heard of SO many problems with the UK & US releases of SAC 1st Gig that I'm honestly cautious of buying it in any form.

Why do I bother writing the reviews /images/graemlins/cry00000.gif

"Now, for the bad news- because the audio tracks are the Dolby selection, we get the original of those as well, minor warts and all. So anyone thinking this is the fixed audio and subtitle version is going to be disappointed."

Sorry man, I'm at work - quick answers good, reading an in-depth review awkward! /images/graemlins/catgirl0.gif

Believe me, if you didn't know beforehand and started watching the Japanese track with subs, you'd notice very, very quickly. There's no point hiding from it. They're a bit bodged but still watchable. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Yea, I'll second that.
