Upconverting player worth it with Sony KDF-E50A10?

So... I just bought a new TV, it will be delivered Sunday. I've read a few things that suggest getting a upconverting DVD player isn't really worth it since the upconversion that the set does on it's own is great. I tend to trust the more succinct opinions expressed by users here over the at times long winded confusing responses I've seen elsewhere.

So opinions? Should I get a upconverting DVD player for this set or not? If I do get one, it will likely be the Oppo, but I'm not sure if I should bother.

If you need to buy a dvd player period and have a DVI input to connect it to (or HDMI), then the Oppo is always an excellent suggestion. /images/graemlins/happy.gif

Well after seeing my current DVD player (which wasn't a bad player when I bought it, but it IS rather old...) I'm gonna go ahead and order the Oppo anyway. DVDs don't look SUPER bad, but to be honest some of the SD cable channels going right from the wall into the set actually look better, believe it or not!
