based on the hit Korean Drama which was also huge in HK. An animation version has been decided. Here's the PDF file (http://www3.nhk.or.jp/pr/keiei/shiryou/soukyoku/2005/12/010.pdf) stating the decision.
I'm sorta suprised at this, didn't really expect an animated version. I guess this will attract more kids even though the drama show is oriented to people of all ages. Anyways, I only saw a couple episodes of this w/ my parents (who were following it religiously at the time) and must say that it's pretty good story and chara development wise. Though w/ 70 something episodes, it felt too dragged-on i heard.

Highest Export Price In Korean Animation History
NHK and JoongAng Ilbo mention the Shoujo Janggeum no Yume TV animation will air in Japan in April 2006. The acquistion marks the most money paid for a Korean Animation license to date. Although the actual figure has not been revealed, JoongAng Ilbo interviewed someone related to the MBC contents project team who said the amount of money was not inferior to exports of drama TV series. Additionally it was hinted the prictag rose to three times of the existing average animation export price. Plans are already underway to distribute the series throughout Asia
