Alright, I know there are plenty of series out there who have additional, unlicensed seasons. And while we all await the anime fairy to grant our wish and bring us more goodies like SuperGals, there are plenty of series out there that also deserve at least another season.

Got any series in mind? I can think of a few:

Princess Nine
Trigun
Berserk!
Twelve Kingdoms (please oh please)

...and I'm sure there are plenty of other shows I wish continued on longer, but I'm curious to see what other people are hoping for. Please submit your ideas and suggestions! Thanks.

Last Exile needs a short second season or a few OVA episodes that expands on the last couple of episodes.
Vandread needs that third season done that the director is planning on doing eventually, but is busy with other things.
I think the Tenchi OVA would benefit from being a TV series in itself to expand on a few of the storylines in the OVA.
Oh, the Please Teacher/Twins franchise definitely needs a third season to complete all the other characters storylines.
Ai Yori Aoshi needs to have a couple more seasons as well.
As a joke, Neon Genesis Evangelion needs another season to see what happens with the world and to see if Shinji and Asuka are willing to repopulate the world.
Oh, and Fruits Basket, we need to see what happens to Akito and the other family memebers.

And, of course, STELLVIA! ::cries:: I'd also love to see more Rune Soldier Louie, Nadesico ::cries again:: and obviously Azumanga, although I'd actually prefer a Yotsubato! anime first.

Ditto to the Yotsubato series. Did you ever catch that one guy's website, where he made an "intro" for a Yotsubato "series" using the theme song from Azumanga Daioh?

It was scene-for-scene a parallel of the Azumanga opening, with Yotsubato chracters and altered to fit the manga. Wow...it was good. Here's the site, with a lot of Azumanga / Yotsubato stuff on it:

His and Her Circumstances can really use additional seasons as well.

And finally GTO. There needs to be more Onikuza out there. School can never be truly safe as long as we are missing Onizuka.

Apart from the ones already mentioned, I want to see a continuation of Giant Robo. That teaser at the end left me yearning for more for all those years since I've first seen it. And of course more Read Or Die wouldn't hurt as well.

Another vote for Ai Yori Aoshi. While the romance aspect of this renai [pure love] series is well developed, the central conflict was never fully addressed. How Kaoru deals with the hostile and powerful Hanabishi clan and secures the approval of the Sakuraba family would add a lot of drama to a series that seems to have been overlooked by many because of its comedic elements. I think AYA could shed its undeserved reputation as a harem anime if it were given a serious ending.

Victorian Romance Emma - Hands down they need to extend it to catch up with the manga(which seems like it's getting ready to finish). They need more funding heh.

Full Metal Panic - Would love to see the Christmas novel animated.

Planetes - More of a OVA after the last episode

It's just a drama cd =( No plans to animate it as far as I've heard, but I really hope they do because I like the character designs from the CD art.

Fruits Basket- they need to introduce the other members of the chinese zodiac and follow the manga storyline.

Twelve Kingoms- A good conclusion is needed.

Ghoast in the Shell: Loved both seasons of GIST SAC and 2nd GIG. Hopefully more will be made.

Yeah I read that on Anime News Network a few weeks ago. It was basically the director saying if he had his choice of projects, a 3rd season would be his choice...and that there were talks. Yeah, baby!

As others have said,

* 12 Kingdoms
* Banner of the Stars IV and whatever other continuations appear
* Fruit Basket
* Nadesico, if only to clear up the mess they made with the multimedia (non)ending.

Also, I'd love to see:

* the last arc of Kenshin animated properly
* the TV adaptation of Silent Mobius finished
* More Inuyasha would be welcome
* I wouldn't mind seeing a third 3x3 Eyes OVA series, even though I'm quite happy with how the second one ended things.

Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha deserves a third season. Especially if based on the way the second season ended, <span style='color:#dddddd;background:#dddddd'>It takes place after the time jump so we have teenage Nanoha.</span> As Fencedude suggested in another topic it needs to be 26 episodes this time. Besides in my own view with as large as the cast has become 13 won't cut it anymore. Heck 13 was barely cutting it before.

Shrine of the Morning doesn't need a second season so much as remake of the first season that's 26 full length episodes. I love the series, but it really could have used a lot more padding than the half episode format gave it.

On a similiar note. It would have been nice if Happy 7 was longer than 13 episodes. In other words 26 episodes. This would have made certain elements seem less rushed. Plus maybe Lucky 3 would have been shown a lot more often. It's unfair that it was only shown <span style='color:#dddddd;background:#dddddd'>once</span>.

Okay maybe my choices don't deserve another season or a more padded version of the original. However I don't care. It's what I want. Plus come on at least Nanoha deserves another season. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

There are many series that I would like to have continuing seasons. Here are a few:
<ul type="square"> Berserk - Continuation of the story based on the ongoing manga.
Zipang - Continuation of the story after <span style='color:#dddddd;background:#dddddd'>the crew deep-sixing the destroyer</span> in Episode 26.
Beck - Their tour of America and beyond.
Kino's Journey - More travel stories please /images/graemlins/happy.gif
Rurouni Kenshin - The final arc to be given its proper due.
His and Her Circumstances - Could the mangaka please allow another studio to continue the series if she does not want Gainax near it.
Honey &amp; Clover - Forgot about this. Need to have more of this series. I did not know how much I miss Honey &amp; Clover until the recent Episode L special. (update)[/list]

Hajime no Ippo - Continuation of the story based on the ongoing manga.

Most have them I really would like have been mentioned like Berserk, Kenshin, Twelve Kingdoms, Fruits Basket, His and Her Circumstances and GTO.

R.O.D is just such a fun idea I would like to see more.

Angel Sanctuary barely started, it would be nice to see more of the story animated.

Mirage of Blaze has a complex enough story to support a longer series, and there are still unsolved problems between some of the characters.

Peacemaker ending left it kind of open that their could be another series and I liked it enough I would like to see more.

Vampire Hunter D was an interesting story that I think could have been a base for a cool series.

Hellsing was short I think I could have supported more material.

Ippo some of the stuff AFTER the series is just soo damn funny. Please make more it would be awwwsome.

City Hunter - If not another season at least give me a couple of more TV specials! As much as I do love Angel Heart its just not the same without Kaori and her hammers of fury.

Lupin III - I love the TV specials, don't get me wrong, but another 100+ episode TV series like the second TV series would be awesome.

Outlaw Star - Would be fun to see a continuation to this.

I definitely also second Hajime no Ippo and Slam Dunk getting continuations.

My little list:
Digimon (something along the first two seasons though, since those were the best)
Harukanaru Toki no Naka de (this time based on the second game)
Sailor Moon (live action) (not exactly anime but very deserving another season just so we can get live action versions of the other Sailor senshi)

Actually Slayers vs Orphen is a book and an audio drama that was released earlier this year. The Japanese have a different concept of the 'vs' meaning than the slug fest between the two series used in American comics and movies and tend to use it to indicate a crossover where the characters team up, such as the Slayers vs Orphen novel was.

Yes, I know. But it seemed much more fun looking at it the other way. Much more of an Alien vs Predator thing. I've got the audio drama that a friend sent me, but not the book since I dont really have the time to sit down and translate something in a language I'm barely literate in. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif OKay, and I didnt realize there was a book there. Although...now that I think about it it does make sense since the audio drama had to come from something...

It's most likely never going to happen, but I'd definitely want more episodes of Alien Nine and see it go into the even more dark and disturbing territory of the manga.

As for two series that I'm very iffy on whether it would be a good idea if they should get another season or not, are Azumanga Daioh and Elfen Lied. These two series are pretty much the perfect length in my opinion and I think any more episodes would run a risk of lessening the overall quality of those series as a whole. I actually haven't seen the final episode of Azumanga Daioh yet, but I imagine that the ending is conclusive enough that any more episodes would seem kind of pointless. The same goes for Elfen Lied which I think had an almost perfect conclusion and one of the best endings I've ever seen. Still, I definitely wouldn't mind getting an extra season for these series but I'd rather my fond memory of these series not get ruined by a terrible 2nd season (or 3rd and so on), which can result from when the show just starts to get stale or repetitive when it should have ended much sooner. Cardcaptor Sakura, for example, came very close to overstaying it's welcome and I felt that the series would have been much better if it was trimmed down by about 20 episodes.

Ai Yori Aoshi should have another season that is about 13 episodes to wrap up the remainder of the unanimated manga to give AYA a good ending.

Full Metal Panic should definitely have another season, and I won't mind if it's more like Fumoffu or The Second Raid because all FMP is good.

I know it will never happen, and it wasn't a series but just 3 OAVs, but I would kill to see the rest of My Dear Marie animated. Especially if they included any of the imagery from the ED and the ending of episode 3.

I agree with like 90% of the series mentioned already, but, there is one series that also is in need of another season or 2 it's gotta be Irresponsible Captain Tylor!!!. Damn ending in the middle of the coming battle had me screaming.....

Without a doubt, Fruits Basket is a series that NEEDS a second season. Considering how much the fans want it, and how much FUNi is pushing for it...it just might happen.

Well aside from the 166 or so episodes licensed by VIZ I know Rumiko Takahashi signed something to make 150 more in Japan. Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong or add more details.

Rurouni Kenshin - This is a great show. The filler of Tokyo arc and pathetic/weirdness of Meiji arc brings it down. We need the manga version ending to redeem it.

As for those of you who mentioned Outlaw Star I have to disagree. This is one of my favorite shows and it's in my top 10. I LOVE it. However, the show is a rarity. It cannot be accomplished again. The greatness of it was that Gene Starwind left his home planet for the stars. And the crazy cast/crew that they met along the way and damn good story that led them to the unknown of the universe and ultimate all knowing ancients. It just can't be done again, the story would degrade the name of Outlaw Star and the rest would be filler. I would enjoy the filler but it would just make the name Outlaw Star less perfect.

For some reason I'm really bad at list threads like this. The only show that instantly jumps to my mind (not counting the current ones I'm enjoying this season) is Nadesico. There's lots of established material with which to do so as well.

Kino's Journey and Alien Nine are the two that really left me wanting more.

I'm also tempted to mention 3X3 Eyes and Here is Greenwood, but I'd want to see them in the old hand-painted style they started out in; I can't imagine the new digital animation suiting them as well.

I'm egarly awaiting the inevitable announcement of the Fushigi Yuugi: Genbu Kaiden anime. I know it's comming. There's no way it won't be animated. I just hope Viz doesn't license it when it does come out, because I want Geneon to get it. I also want all the novels animated; Eikoden was the worst story in the bunch. The character-centric ones are more interesting. Ooh, and the short stories that are comming out in the Perfect World magazine. ^_^

I'd like to see Gravitation re-done from scratch to be longer and not skip over stuff. Hmm, I would like to see more episodes of Don't Leave Me Alone, Daisy!, but I think I am on a small ship in that respect.

I'd also like continuations of:
Jewel Bem Hunter Lime (Lime herself was boring, but all the other characters were interesting. I particuarly liked the monsters. "I'm a bad monster!" quoth the purse monster.)

Kenshin (last arch properly animated)

Irresponsible Captain Tylor
Arc the Lad (Not a bad series for a video game adaptation. I'd like to see an adaptation of the third game and any later games there might be.)
.hack//SIGN could use one or two more episodes. That's all I ask for this one. Not a whole 'nother season, just an episode or two.

I also want to see prequil/spinoffs for Sailor Moon - Codename Sailor V would be interesting, as would getting to see Uranus and Neptune's lives as Sailor Scouts before Sailor Moon S.

Count me in for wanting Gundam Wing's Episode Zero to be animated.

And since my friend likes Fruits Basket and I like the concept, season two of that. Especially since it needs it from what I understand.

Although I don't think it deserves another series on the strength of the first one - I'd like to see another series of Mezzo : DSA (Preferably when there are no budget problems!). I've always liked the characters - despite the actual concept of the show not being that mindblowing...

More Banner &amp; more Berserk for me. Also, while I agree with Balthier that the Funi dub crew for Lupin III is great, I still want to see more Outlaw Star. I don't think you could top it, sure, but there was plenty of room for stories theat would not be just filler. There was definitely more potential there.

I would love to see another season of Ghost in the Shell: SAC and Outlaw Star but the anime I really am hoping would get the green light is Genshiken.

I know there has been more volumes of the manga put out past where they stopped in the anime. Whether it's enough for 13 more episodes, I don't know. I would love to see if <span style='color:#dddddd;background:#dddddd'>Madarame's crush for Saki-chan would go anywhere and I really want to see an animated version of that new girl, Chika Ogiue.</span>

Of the animes that I've seen and know about, I'd have to agree with all of them that have been mentioned so far.

Banner of the Stars definitely has to be continued. I love the series.

Nadesico would be nice to see continued if they don't go the same route they took with the movie. :shudder:

Armitage would be nice to see again. I think there's still potential there for more adventures.

I started searching the internet thinking to myself, "The reason they did this is because another studio owns the rights to the next season... or something like that. They wouldn't end it like this." I was seriously disappointed.

Well I have to admit that that's the beauty of fiction and animated shows in general. They can write a script to do almost anything, <span style='color:#dddddd;background:#dddddd'>even resurrect Spike if they wanted to. The character of Ed is so unpredictable she could "pop up" at any time with a silly explanation and we'd accept it</span>. /images/graemlins/happy.gif So they could easily fill that void if they so wanted to.

More Gunsmith Cats wouldn't hurt ar at all. What else, Master Keaton, this could easily be explored more. More Mezzo DSA would be nice, really found the action to be awesome. Hajime no Ippo really deserves more, it's one of those series that just gets the blood pumping ya know? Yes, I'll also agree that more GTO and GITS : SAC not only would be nice but is just needed! One that I really wished didn't end was Heat Guy J. I've also always wanted to see more of Blue Seed. And even though there's been so much of it, Tenchi. Really that's one of the few animes I wished just went on and on. And even though it's still running, even after this most recent Stage is completed I want to see more of Initial D.

They could just do it that gantz doesnt hang around when there isnt a game going on... I have still to get around to reading the manga, but I understand that the final battle isnt even in it (which kinda explains why it sucked IMHO). </span>

After going back and watching it on DVD I thought that New Dominion Tank Police could be explored more. Who wouldn't want to see more of the /images/graemlins/catgirl0.gifPuma/images/graemlins/catgirl0.gif sisters and crazed Leona chasing them in Bonapart!. But it's so unlikely, I'm sure Masamune Shirow has done all he cares to do with the series.

I want a Slayers: Knight of Aqualord anime. I want to see Lyos, Shizuri, and all the rest of the new characters in that manga arc animated. But yeah, that, Twelve Kingdoms(perhaps just to see what kind of note they'd deign to end it on), His &amp; Her Circumstances(though only if Anno returns, however, given the "falling out," I don't see it), another season of Big O, Tenjho Tenge and maybe even Requiem from the Darkness(100 Stories, Kousetsu Hyaku Monogatari, et al), if just to relieve the craptacular series end...
Oh, and a continuation of the Hellsing anime, as written by Konaka, none of this manga-restricted crud, watch though I may...
