Tsuda Mikiyo's Princess Princess manga will be converted into anime format according to Wings Magazine (http://www.shinshokan.co.jp/comic/mag/w_top.html).

Another anime about a guy dressing up as a girl, but this time it's shoujo so it takes place in a all boy school...

Probablities of containing BL themes : HIGH. lol.

Interesting. And the manga ends in the same issue where they mention the news so there will probably not be any fake endings.

Now...if Wings manga are becoming anime, does this mean there's a small chance of Judal's Vampire Game becoming an anime...? If so, I'd be a happy fangirl... /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

Isn't Tsuda Mikiyo the shoujo-creating pen-name for Zaou Taishi? Either way, I like her art style quite a bit. I hope they do a decent job of anime-fying the character designs.

This looks to be of some interest to me tho. *went and found a little on it*

Yes, it seems it is. So she's writing BL (in different anthologies), Yuri (in Yuri Shimai and Yuri Hime) and shoujo (in Wings) at the same time. Cool. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

Excellent! Another anime with "princess" in the title.

(I'm still hoping for "Princess Maids.")

Likewise. I knew they were done by Atsuko Nakajima the instant I saw them, heh. Here's to hoping that the animation does them justice. /images/graemlins/happy.gif

Yayyy same here. The new image makes it look like a maid show, but let me guess, they're all guys or something... /images/graemlins/sweat200.gif Princess Princess, anyone wanna give a larger summary rather than crossdressing(which immediately perks my interest.. but I still want to know a general plot.. unless there isn't one)

the official site has gone thru many updates already. there's another update today w/ news about the op/ed. the special section (http://www.pri-pri.jp/special.htm) has opened w/ a quiz. the prize is a wallpaper. having randomly guess the right answers, i'll link you to the the largest wall size (http://www.pri-pri.jp/images/special/p_priA_1280x1024.jpg) if you're part of the lazy bunch /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif.

Eck.. the blue hair somehow looks weird when it's on the guy but fine when it's a girl? /images/graemlins/sweat200.gif makes no sense.

I am really looking forward for this release.

Since its TV Asahi, It is highly possible that the DVDs will be released by Bandai Visual. similar to the deal NTV has with VAP and TV Tokyo with Aniplex (there are exceptions of course)

The official site updated with an awesome new header image. They make such hot girls~~

(I mean, it's almost unfair. They're better-looking than many real bishoujo.)

Anyway, the "Story" section has also been changed. It now includes three screencaps, which rotate if you keep clicking refresh. Looks pretty good to me... lots of exaggerated, shoujo-y flowers and sparkles, haha. Also, the Character section has colored headshots now.

I watched the first episode a few days ago, but had to sort my feelings about the shows before posting here. I have to begin by saying that this is an anime that benefits from watching with a friend, preferably someone with a sense of humor. /images/graemlins/stunned0.gif

Not a bad show if you like your BL light, suggesting and full of with boys looking longingly at each other or guys shouting amorously at their favourite guy in drag. It has some hillarious lines like "This is a boys school, after all" (said by a teacher with an evil gleam in his eye) and "You're better off sharing rooms with me" "Why?" [Pitiful stare] (of course because the guy offering his room is probably <span style='color:#dddddd;background:#dddddd'> uke and less harmfull than the other horny boys in the dormitory </span>.

The animation is cute, boys are cute, boys dressed as girls are even cuter. Intro animation had me in tears of laughter. The more I think about it, this was probably not supposed to be a comedy, but it sort of became one when me and my friend watched it.

I'll probably not bother with the next episode unless I really need a good laugh. I can't even imagine how embarassing it will be to watch this alone.

The first episode made me really sad. /images/graemlins/sad.gif

I don't understand why they did everything they could to take out or otherwise ruin Taishi Zaou's style of comedy. When I heard Princess Princess' background music, I actually wondered if I had started hallucinating Strawberry Panic's BGM or something. It didn't even begin to fit with what I expected from the show. Nothing did, really.

...At least I've still got Ouran. /images/graemlins/cry00000.gif

Actually, it was. The original manga is laugh-out-loud funny, and the reason I was looking forward to the anime so much. Unfortunately, the anime is "wow, this is bad" funny.

BTW, it's not a BL series. The bit with the shared rooms is because <span style='color:#dddddd;background:#dddddd'>they don't want any of the general population to get, err, overly enamored with one of the "princesses" and attempt to visit their rooms late at night (as you figured), BUT not because the other guy is gay or "safe". In fact, the red haired one has a girlfriend and the blond one likes girls with big boobs.</span>

I'm only judging from the longing looks between the characters. /images/graemlins/wink.gif <span style='color:#dddddd;background:#dddddd'> I know from experience that guys in shoujo stories like this are always explained as NOT gay in very definite ways...despite what the manga-ka is teasingly telling with her pictures. A bit like Ppoi!, Zero and the general Hana to Yume/Wings-"semi-gay" characters... I used to be really disappointed with this before I figured out the pattern. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif </span>

Well, there must be very little interest in the anime community outside of Japan, because I have not seen this being offered by anyone yet.
