This is a reminder that Turner Classic Movies will be showing 9 of Hayao Miyazaki's films this month. Titles include Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke, as well as films previously un-released in the US, such as Whisper of the Heart and Only Yesterday. For more information:

Thanks for the reminder. I have half of these movies, but I haven't seen Porco Rosso, Pom Poko or Whispers of the Heart yet. As far as the others go, there is something cool about turning on TCM and seeing some Miyazaki even if I already own them.

I've seen most of them, but I'll try to catch Whisper of the Heart, Only Yesterday, and Pom Poko since I haven't seen them yet.

I haven't seen those three either, so those will be the ones I will try to check. I also want to see Totoro to check out the new dub.

Thanks for the heads up. Now I got to look through the long schedule for times.

Just saw Nausicaa but I'll check out the others.

Too bad I don't have cable, or I'd deffinetly make time to watch Totoro, Whisper, Pom Poko, and maybe check out Only Yesterday since I haven't seen them. (Well, I've seen Totoro, but not the new dub). I've got all the others on DVD (well, need to get Nausicaa again, but still).

Aww, no Kiki or Cat Returns? Those two are so much fun. Personally, I prefer Kiki to Spirited Away....

According to this schedule, the Ghibli films will not be shown on TCM Canada, as previously assumed.

The neat thing about TCM's presentation is that they'll be showing both the sub and dub versions for most of the movies (I think Only Yesterday will be the only movie shown with subs only according to TCM's press release...). The dub versions will be shown first in the evening with the subbed versions shown afterward at late night.

Hmm, according to the schedule it's the other way around.

But it doesn't matter to me. I just want to see the movies. Of the ones they're going to air, I've only seen Spirited Away!

I'm all set. I just hope that I don't forget to tune in tomorrow night. Maybe this time I'll actually be able to sit through all of Spirited Away.

Well, it was definitely quite good, and I even got my mother to sit down and watch it! Right now, Princess Mononoke is on, and I'll be leaving Turner on all night for the subbed versions also! ^_^

Always a cool thing. /images/graemlins/happy.gif

Well, it's a very nicely animated, beautifully-inked film with a pretty good dub, but it's just not my thing. Now I'm sure that I don't need to own it. I'm enjoying Mononoke in the background now, despite the fact that it's already got a spot in my collection (one of the first anime DVDs I invested in).

I'm really looking forward to previewing "Only Yesterday" and "Whisper of the Heart". This marathon is such a great idea all the way around.
