Gatts posted that there is need for more discussion in the R2 forum. I'll get it started with the thread.

First up is pics and scans that was previously posted in the R2 jpeg orgy.
tseniv posted scans of the SHUFFLE prologue (http://www.ea-wannabe.com/dvd/BBBA-5700.htm)
SHUFFLE episode 1 (http://ollin.us/shuffle1.html)
SHUFFLE episode 2 (http://ollin.us/shuffle2.html)
SHUFFLE episode 3 (http://ollin.us/shuffle3.html)
SHUFFLE episode 4 (http://ollin.us/shuffle4.html)
SHUFFLE episode 5 (http://ollin.us/shuffle5.html)
SHUFFLE episode 6 (http://ollin.us/shuffle6.html)

Some screen shots
Vol. 1 (http://ollin.us/shuffle1screenshots.html)
Vol. 2 (http://ollin.us/shuffle2screenshots.html)
Vol. 3 (http://ollin.us/shuffle3screenshots.html)
Vol. 4 (http://ollin.us/shuffle4screenshots.html)
Vol. 5 (http://ollin.us/shuffle5screenshots.html)

The LE's include a bonus CD soundtrack and CD-Rom. Each CD includes at least 1 vocal track, BMG music that was in the anime, and a message from one of the seiyuu's. CD ROM is some sort of game where you play one of the characters and follow them around. I haven't played it yet so I have no idea what this is about. First volume has Sia, 2nd Nerine, and 3rd volume has Kaeda.

I've only watched the first episodes. I did take some screen shots (http://ollin.us/shuffle1screenshots.html) a few days ago. Images are very large. /images/graemlins/sweat200.gif I didn't compare it with the broadcast version. I don't think there would be much change since the animation are already good to begin with.

SHUFFLE R2's is a 12 volume release with each volume containing 2 episodes. The regular version retails for 5800 Yen with the limited version selling for 7800 Yen. SHUFFLE prologue was released with a box that holds the prologue disc and volumes 1-4. Volume 5 will most likely have the next box. I don't know if they'll release a box for the supplementary extra discs. Artwork wasn't to great with the same art for both panels. Hopefully it improves for the next box. For more info about SHUFFLE visit the official site (http://www.shuffle-tv.com/).

I'm not to good with writing reviews so I leave it at that. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

Do you have a track listing for the audio CDs? I'm just wondering if these tracks are included on other OSTs, or if you have to get the LEs for them.

The official site has some pics from the cdroms that come with them:

http://www.shuffle-tv.com/cdrom/

I take it the video quality is okay by the pictures you posted? I remembering wanting to buy Air when it came out, but was really disappointed by the video so I didn't.

Track listing for Vol. 1 (http://ollin.us/Pics2/songtitle1.jpg), 2 (http://ollin.us/Pics2/songtitle2.jpg), and 3 (http://ollin.us/Pics2/songtitle3.jpg).

I didn't see anything wrong with the video quality. Maybe someone else can comment on it.

From what I can tell those tracks aren't on any of the game OSTs released so far. For the anime only the OP/ED has come out, so it's likely they'll release a separate OST later for the anime itself, for those who couldn't get the LEs.

You said you didn't notice anything about the video quality, what about the animation quality? There has been some low budget episodes, but I don't remember which ones, and if they're on the first 3 discs or not. I'm hoping that they'll re-animate some of the worst ones.

Kind of bummed that I didn't get the Prologue now as I didn't know it came with a box for the first 4 volumes either. I decided to just get the standard releases though in the end, couldn't really justify the extra outlay for the LE's, just hope there is an actual OST released.

So far I'm really enjoying the DVD's though, currently making progress in getting the subtitles transcribed from the fansubs so I can watch them using DVD Subber. Now if only XBMC could do the same sort of trick as DVD Subber then I would be very happy indeed /images/graemlins/happy.gif

It's futari kiri - just us two. I kind of question the translation accuracy of the other tracks if relentless can't get that basic one right ^^;. I'd have to take a closer look at the other to make sure though (a bit lazy right now).

Edit: I took a look and except and with one exception it looks fine. The images you provided are too blurry to make out the kanji properly so assuming relentless transcribed them right the translations look okay. The one additional exception I noted is itsumo hitori should be Always Alone.

The original TV broadcast had quite a bit of R-15 shots. Did they add even more in the DVD release?

The R-15 rated episodes first appear I believe in the middle of the series. R2's are only up to episode 6.

Official site (http://www.shuffle-tv.com/) of Shuffle has been updated with info on volumes 5 to 7. Limited Edition extras are the same as previous volumes with the CDRom and CD. I didn't mind the CD and CDROM as the extras for the first few volumes but for 12 volumes that might be pushing it a little. I would of prefered pack in extras similar to Kadokawa's other releases Maburaho and Chrno Crusade.

Skywise

Quick note - the japanese text for the covers say that the one for 5 isn't ready yet, and the one for 6 is for the extras disc, not the regular one.

R8 posted the temporary cover for volume 8 in the cover art forum. The site (http://www.shuffle-tv.com/dvd/#129) has also been updated. It also looks like the extras for vol. 6 has changed. Extras will now include two postcards and other extras which will be updated later. I guess it's better than the BGM CD's and CD-Roms.

Updated the first post also to include the latest volume.

Yeah, so, well, it's both there. In full no-bamboo-tree-blocking glory!!!

Sia's famous nipples now shown clearly in the R2 starting at 28:02 from my time-counter. /images/graemlins/devil.gif

Some of you might remember that after this ep-8's broadcast (even with the treeblock), the R-15 message started appearing before the show.

Sorry for no dvd-snapshot of it as I'm not sure if imageshack will allow it, but here's the broadcast-version of the shot (http://img496.imageshack.us/my.php?image=shuffle8bambootree0ej.jpg). /images/graemlins/sweat200.gif The same shot in the R2 does not have the tree and it was in much better video-quality. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

edit:

just realized Shuffle's unusual volume-titling of calling it "episode" instead of "volume". So then in the R2, it's "episode"-4 #8 for the Sia-nipples.

Yeah, NeoWing (http://www.neowing.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=BBBA-5725) and a bunch of other sites have it listed with volume 5; just not the official site and Amazon for some reason. They did update the official site (http://www.shuffle-tv.com/dvd/) with more info about the extras, though; volume 6 will have the standard mini-game and mini-soundtrack CD, and Volume 7 will start with the postcards (and yet another CD of some kind? They've got to be running out of OST tracks...)

So I got this and I must say it's a rather kewl R2. In a sorta weird way.

menu-shot: http://img411.imageshack.us/my.php?image=snapshot901vf.jpg

First we get almost all the japanese-seiyuus being introduced and interviewed. Among the cast, only Kaede's seiyuu weren't in it since she's in another location or something, but she had a pre-recorded stuff for the fans that were shown from the concert-screen. Other than that, this dvd contains all the regular stuff you'll usually find from anime seiyuu-live stuff, i.e. singing, interview, live-acting, etc.

The thing with the female-seiyuus of Shuffle are that they have great excellent vocals, but, uhhh, most of them need work on physical/fashion appearances. The male-seiyuus (Rin, Itsuki) were actually better dressed than them. /images/graemlins/sweat200.gif

That's not to say that all of them are non-pretties. Sia's seiyuu was kinda cute. In a normal way.

The real bonafide cutie (bordering on the hottie-dept) with a matching hottie-outfit, however, was Yuria (Ama's VA). Not only was she dressed fashionably fine (she was sporting some sort of a gothic-loli outfit), but her vocals was just SUPER AWESOME!!! She sang both the anime and game OP-songs (Mirage Lullaby, You) very excellently without a drop in quality. Her singing-vocals really carry very well live and she really has presence.

The ed-singer, Hashimoto Miyuki, was also very excellent in the live singing dept. She sang Nerine's song and like what Yuria did on the Op-songs earlier, Hashimoto Miyuki just kicked so much ass singing the "Innocence" ed-song. Later on, Yuria and her did a duet of the "You", which Hashimoto kinda flubbed a bit but she quickly recovered.

Those two are pretty much the highlight of this R2-dvd for me. The japanese-fans in attendance luvs the seiyuu-cast, especially Primula's seiyuu. Guess they're more into vocals than in, uhhmm, appearance. /images/graemlins/sweat200.gif

So, uhh, here are some snaps of the singers:

Yuria:

http://img205.imageshack.us/my.php?image=snapshot977ht.jpg

http://img131.imageshack.us/my.php?image=snapshot98a8uq.jpg

Miyuki Hashimoto:

http://img205.imageshack.us/my.php?image=snapshot959ba.jpg

the duet:

Yup - the other little extras you can find on that "Live only for you" DVD are the textless anime OP/ED along with a bunch of Shuffle anime commercials and previews (including one that they obviously didn't get a digital source for... ^^; ). Sort of a weird place for them to include those (considering that there are, you know, 12 limited edition DVDs that need extras), but still nice to have. Haven't watched the concert yet, but I always find these fun to watch.

You know, I really, uhmm, dislike these orange cases.

Sure, I can change it to something else. But the fact that this series having default orange-cases just bugs me.

Just curious. I'm not gonna begrudge you or anything, but...

Anybody else collecting Shuffle actually like these orange-colored cases? Am I the only one that feels this way about these orange-cases?

Just wondering.

I'm hoping that whoever gets to release Shuffle in R1 don't copy these orange-cases of the R2.

Well, looks like we'll be getting more of the same afterall, for the most part. Details are up now about the new set of CD-ROM mini-games (http://www.shuffle-tv.com/cdrom/#146) (the "Winter Vacation" series, appropriately enough... though it seems they may be a bit more involved than the Summer series), along with an update (http://www.shuffle-tv.com/dvd/) for the ones included with discs 1 through 5. Still curious about what's going to be on the "Sound CD" (I guess that there's probably still enough BGM to spread over 6 more discs), but looks like we'll be getting some postcards as well.

I tried searching but I got blank since I was looking for Shuffle Live Only For You... and not just shuffle live.

The new search engine is a bit more intelligent than the last one and actually looks at all the words together, rather than just each word. A search for "Shuffle Live Only For You" in UBB would bring up all posts that contained either of the words Shuffle, Live or Only - which would be pretty bad as then it would trigger on all the "one and only" threads.

Sorry to dredge up this dying thread, but I didn't think it worth making a new one.

So, I decided on the spur of the moment to pick up the first SHUFFLE! memories (here I'm mimicking the exact spelling they use on the release) disk.
It was really cheap, ¥2100, so why not?

Haven't watched it yet (and since I do not make use of the "evil" method," I haven't seen any of it yet, except what was already in the original Shuffle!). No, I'm not planning on buying all the memories disks, because I know that it is overwhelmingly reused, but individual girl-centered respliced, footage. I guess I mainly got this one to see the new opening.

Anyway, one odd thing about the release is that it is put out in a superjewel, not a standard, keepcase. Just thought I'd mention this.

The sticker on the outside mentions (I think, my ability to read Japanese is rather limited) that the extras include the full sized, non-credit ending from ep.24 of the series, a special case (this jewelcase?) and a picture label something or other. The disk inside is picture labeled, so maybe it refers to that.

So, there it is. Anyone else bother with this?

I did bother with it, in fact, though it's sitting in a box at home for a few weeks while I'm away. I actually like the re-telling structure, despite it being nearly entirely recap. Seeing it sequenced by character reminds me more of the game, and I think Rin's choices make a bit more sense that way. Anyway, even though it's objectively pretty silly since I already have all the actual series LEs, I'll be buying all the volumes of this too. I've come this far and spent this much, so what's just a little more? :sd:

I should mention this, though: each character has their own special OP and ED, different from the introductory episode, which also has its own unique OP.

Are these provided creditless and full screen on the DVDs? I know for the broadcast the ED is only a small window so it's hard to see what's going on.

I may get the Asa discs later, but for now I'm holding off.

I just checked the general recap disk, which is what I have. The only extra is a creditless version of the ending of Episode 24 Shuffle. They did not provide creditless versions of the OP and ED for the Memories episode on the disk.

I noticed that the Memories episode uses the same ending song and animation as Shuffle, but it's different in that it's really wide screen now. The proportions look to be out of whack even for an HDTV. But it was actually kind of cool as well.

I'm guessing that's because the 12th episode (the finale episode) will probably use the same OP/ED, so the clean OP/ED probably be on the 7th Memories DVD.

It shouldn't be tied to any girl in particular, since they stated originally that Memories would stay focused on the 5 main heroines. Some sort of generic wrap-up would make sense. It'd be sort of neat if they'd do some extra post-story sequences beyond what they showed in the original show, but it's probably not something to get one's hopes up about. In any event, the episode title should be revealed soon, so that may shed some light on the matter.

I'll bet you're right.

A new ending would be amusing. If they did a Kareha ending :virgin: :> :D
