Well I tried this in Off Topic and it hasn't exactly caught on fire yet. But i'm sure it will and since i'm still in the mood for trivia, i figured i'd try one here as well.

Rules are simple. Questions are asked in Jeopardy format, meanigng you give the answer and someone else provides the quesiton. The clues are given by whoever gets the last one correct, then they give confirmation when someone else gets thier clue correct and passes it on to them. No points or anything, it's just for fun.

Only thing is please mark if your clue is in reguards to a licensed or unlicensed property.

And so, without furhter ado, i'll kick this sucker off. First clue is in unlicensed anime

"Rocket ships and a lion mask are elements in this 2003 anime."

Ok, this might be a tough one for some. It's from a licensed show.

I realized like three seconds after I posted my answer that I had no idea as to what kind of question to ask. Let me try to do a hard one. It's a licensed show.

"This series is frequently compared to a book by japanese author Haruki Murakami."

What is Haibane Renmei? (And the book is Hard-Boiled Wonderland..)

Also I've read Haruki Murakami's other work Underground, which is a series of interviews by victims and cult members of the Aum Shinrikyo gassings of Tokyo subways, and while the first half of the book (the victims interviews) are all kinda similar and a bit boring, the interviews of the cult members is fascinating.

Correct! I just finished reading "A Wild Sheep Chase" and it was good, but sort of odd.

Ok my question is...

Stella, Shep, Octave, Baryl, and Arpegius are the only named characters in this 2003 anime 'movie'.

(Try not to use google! I know its too easy....but I suck at making up questions like this.)

Also fairly easy (not licensed if my quicksearch was correct).

Based on a manga who´s creator did a lot of Captain Tsubasa Doujinshi (which is said to be the inspiration for this work), this OVA (1992) focuses on the relationship between Kouji Nanjo a music star and a young soccer player Izumi Takuto.

In the interest of keeping the thread on the front page, i'm just gonna go ahead and throw out the next clue.

Shouldn't be to hard, and it's in Licensed Anime

"Despite featuring young girls fighting useing remote controlled dolls, this manga and anime is considered the group's first attempt at a 'Shonen' style series."

That's the one! Fire away.

As a side note, my copy of the Kimba the White Lion box set seems to have become quite a talking point recently. Every time someone walks into my room I seem to inadvertantly convince them that The Lion King is a complete ripoff off Kimba/Jungle Emperor ^^; Even though I don't really feel that way (true, Disney's party line is nonsense since some of those similarities couldn't possibly be coincidence, but the two are still quite different...)

I'm gonna throw out the enxt clue. THis might be easy or it might not be, it depends on how familiar you are with the other show in the clue. In any case it's a licensed clue

"This anime is the first, and as of the end of DVD Volume 3, only anime to be parodied on the hit animated show Family Guy"

Shiro Akuma

OK, I'll try this. I'm probably wrong but it's the only one that I can think of that has appeared on Family Guy.

What is the Transformers?

Corect. I can't remember what episode it was in, but i really liked that gag. Right now they're featureing the Speed Racer crew in a Geico Auto Insurance commercial that's somewhat funny, but like most Geico commercials really loses it's humor after the 100th viewing.

Anway, Splitter has control of the board.

Alright, here's a triple threat for you. Only the person who can answer all three of these gets to post the next question (mua-ha-ha-ha!). How's that for a change up?

<reaches into his bag of obscure anime lore> Aha!:

1) This one-shot anime OVA features five women gunslingers who must thwart a train robbery in the American old west.

2) This fighting series' R1 release title shares part of its name with a famous video game fighting franchise, although they are completely unrelated.

3) This one-episode special, directed by Akitaro Daichi, features a deaf character who speaks entirely in JSL (Japanese Sign Language).
