Depending with what the mods might do with this post I thought the title was appropriate.

I don't remember anyone saying the mods would shut down the JPEG thread. I do remember me saying I wouldn't start them any more, but that has nothing to do with the mods here since I'm not a mod in R2.

BTW, you do realize that Final Fantasy has been final for 13+ games. It's not a very good example of final anything. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Which is good because I certainly hope this won't be the final JPEG orgy!

Of course! I chose the title because there are at least 3 different ways it could have been appropriate or understood.

So, I ordered the KS: LotP OVA through Masato, since supposedly it would ship to them in December. WELL, it DID ship to them in December, but Masato received it after the ship date for December passed. /images/graemlins/cry00000.gif I tried to get them to ship early, but no dice and the next ship date was January 16. I received the goods today and took some pics for people to look at a few days earlier than the "general" limited release:

Front of DVD case (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v77/slerch666/Legend%20of%20Phoenix/DVD-box-front.jpg)
Back of DVD case (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v77/slerch666/Legend%20of%20Phoenix/DVD-box-back.jpg)
Contents of the DVD case (booklet and 2 little fliers, along with DVD of course) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v77/slerch666/Legend%20of%20Phoenix/DVD-Contents.jpg)
The figure box (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v77/slerch666/Legend%20of%20Phoenix/figbox.jpg)
The figure (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v77/slerch666/Legend%20of%20Phoenix/Layla-front.jpg)
Top pic of figure (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v77/slerch666/Legend%20of%20Phoenix/Fig-top.jpg)
Poster (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v77/slerch666/Legend%20of%20Phoenix/Poster.jpg)

The way I had read the AT-X listing is it would release early, which it did. Other than the poster, it looks like my release will be the same as everyone elses. Was paying MSRP (AT-X listed as 7000 yen, MSRP 8500 or something, so after Masato's share of 1500 yen, I was back at MSRP) worth it to get it about 1.5-2 weeks early. Probably not, but I have it, and you can bet your behind I'm watching it tonight!

not sure if it's the quality of your photo but the lalya fig looks meh to me, quality-wise. everything else looks pretty good.

acutally, from a link in the figure thread in GA, the Layla figure's paint job is really horrible...

My pictures do suck, however as Pelianth posted, the paint job isn't that great. The figure looks nice from a distance, but once you're up on it, the face is a little odd.

The show itself was a good watch though, and in the end that's all I really cared about. /images/graemlins/wink.gif

well, my AJ package has arrived after being stuck and delayed in Wilmington for the weekend (WTF), otherwise i prolly would've gotten it on Friday. Anyways, the Godfather of HiME/ZHiME has finally gotten his package and now time for some pics, along w/ SR OVA which i preordered a while ago but combined w/ Otome to save money /images/graemlins/tongue.gif. Since others have posted on SR OVA in detail, i'll refrain from that.

School Maids (http://img476.imageshack.us/my.php?image=schoolmaids4cd.jpg)
School Maids back (http://img482.imageshack.us/img482/2492/schoolmaids20cw.jpg)
My-Otome (2 DVDs and some ads to show you the wrong date of the PSP game that acctually comes out on Feb 23) (http://img476.imageshack.us/my.php?image=otomedvds8wr.jpg)
The 2nd Disc (http://img489.imageshack.us/my.php?image=otomedvds24lf.jpg)

and some samples from the booklet (which doesn't contain much new if you've already been to the official site):
This season's booklet cover (http://img206.imageshack.us/my.php?image=booklet10hd.jpg)
Arika & Nina (http://img206.imageshack.us/my.php?image=booklet27on.jpg)
My Natsuki (http://img489.imageshack.us/my.php?image=booklet36oo.jpg)
some info (http://img206.imageshack.us/my.php?image=booklet43pi.jpg)

so yeah, time to rewatch the 1st 2 episodes as well as the Seiyuu disc (which i've already seen /images/graemlins/tongue.gif). More discussion later in the R2 thread perhaps.

Nice pictures Ollin. I'm was stiing here looking mainly at the FMA movie and Bleach boxes thinking, "I can't wait until mine get here." Sure enough, the doorbell rings a few minutes later and the mailwoman has my package from AJ with both of those in it. Next time I'll think something like, "I can't wait until my $1 million gets here." /images/graemlins/wink.gif

It's been a while since I watched Aquarion. Yes it was pure cheese. I do remember the anime having a lot of filler episodes and inconsistent animation and designs. Hopefully Studio Satelight can release the HELLSING OVA without any problems.

Let's start off the week with something for everyone. There's 119 images for ten R2s so depending on traffic some pages may take a while to load. I would've post earlier but decided to actually watch some of them in addition to the Super Bowl first.

Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid Act III Scene 08+09 Limited Edition (http://www.ea-wannabe.com/dvd/BIBA-5805.htm)
Full Metal Alchemist The Movie Conqueror of Shamballa Premium DVD-Box (http://www.ea-wannabe.com/dvd/ANZB-2001.htm)
Ichigo Mashimaro 5 (http://www.ea-wannabe.com/dvd/GNBA-1105.htm)
Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's 1 (http://www.ea-wannabe.com/dvd/KIBA-1301.htm)
Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 Stardust Memory 5.1ch DVD-Box (http://www.ea-wannabe.com/dvd/BCBA-2415.htm)

Finally, with the first volume of the Hellsing OVA coming out later this week I thought it would be good to give a refresher of the original television series. I still shake my head just thinking about the artwork INSIDE the collector's box. BTW, volume 2 is my favorite.

Here's volumes 1 w/box (http://www.ea-wannabe.com/dvd/PIBA-1220.htm), 2 (http://www.ea-wannabe.com/dvd/PIBA-1222.htm), 3 (http://www.ea-wannabe.com/dvd/PIBA-1223.htm), 4 (http://www.ea-wannabe.com/dvd/PIBA-1224.htm), 5 (http://www.ea-wannabe.com/dvd/PIBA-1225.htm).

Yeah. The TH-2 character-shots are really finesse and quite eyecandy, whereas the strawberry-girls are on the cheaply-drawn side in contrast.

Oh, well. Trade-offs are expected. I like Ichigo 100% show and characters way better than TH-2's, but I just gotta have the Tama-nee eps of TH-2 coz she's just divine. /images/graemlins/catgirl0.gif

well, this is my order from the past couple of weeks, all Hong Kong versions of Japanese properties, 'cept for the Good Smile Company Natsuki...but that's not Japanese either, it's Made in China /images/graemlins/tongue.gif /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif. so it contains GSC Natsuki, Shin Seiki Cyber Formula GPX SAGA & SIN HK R3 (got these cuz I'm HUGE Hisayuki Hirokazu fan and the show's great), Tenjou Tenge 14 HK and Bleach 19 HK.

More pics of the figs can be seen in the image fig thread in GA as well as my blog, same w/ the DVDs.

anyways, time to go watch some SIN now.

Talk about information overload, got three different packages in today. /images/graemlins/stunned1.gif

Here's the group shot (http://www.ea-wannabe.com/arrival_2006-02-10.jpg).
However, I feel that most people here are interested in Hellsing OVA volume 1 (http://www.ea-wannabe.com/dvd/GNBA-1141.htm). I'll leave the reviews to people who can write.

postcards, booklet (http://home.wanadoo.nl/raoostdijk/img/dvd0602-2.jpg)

Great stuff (and pictures) especially the Mushishi Vol. 1 Limited Edition *curses his creditcard company for still not having activated the stupid thing and therefore missed out on it*

Btw. Atomsk, did Mushishi come with the planned coupon/postcard to apply for the episode 1 storyboards (once you bought them all and sent them in)?
Also DiscStation stated back when they put the Mushishi DVDs up for pre-order that the DVD release is going feature different (upgraded) animation than the broadcast version of the series (which is IMO a bit surprising given the high animation quailty by Artland for this series). Did you by any chance spot something in these regards?

So I received my latest shipment of goodies today from Hoeteiya Las Vegas and one of the things inside the box was my AIR send away bonus item. It's a little... odd. It is a post card holder to store all the post cards from the TV series in it. The reason it is weird is because of the plastic it is made of.

Anyway, please excuse the super shitty pictures I took. If you HAVE to have better, I can always scan them. I was just feeling too lazy to bother doing that right now however.

Damn. I'm crushed. /images/graemlins/cry00000.gif I need to commit suicide.

I paid a nice premium to Hoteiya Las Vegas for the simple fact that I KNEW they would pull the cards for the send away if I asked. I had to buy every release through them to get it, but it was worth it since now I have it.

You do know that Masato/M-World (http://www.m-world-service.com/) will obtain your send aways for you, right? Sure, you have to pay their fees (1500 Yen + PayPal fees) and shipping to you, but damn if it isn't worth it. I'm going that route with the Tsukuyomi send away. As soon as I have the last DVD in my posession all those cards are going to Masato. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

So why couldn't you send your cards in? Did you purchase the last volume too late or something?

There was a problem with something on my order that held it up for nearly a month until I figured out what was holding it up and canceled it off. (It was a CD that they lited they had in stock.) Doesn't the ZHiME official website say that Vol.3 does have a first pressing item ("Arika and Nina special pin-up" or something equally unexciting)? Do you really think they'll not bother doing an FP for the other volumes as well, even if its just a crappy extra booklet or something? I doubt it, but we'll probably not find out until they update the official site with them.

yeah it does. i missed it upon glancing at it yesterday (too distracted by the lingerie pics /images/graemlins/noseblee.gif /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif). Was going by memory. the official bandai solicit has updated the site and has now also included the pinup for FP LE. Meh, the FP are pretty crappy imo. I mean i could do w/out this magnet. If it were not for the Hisayuki artbook being released this month, i would've held off on this volume unitl vol.3 or 4. The official bandai site still has no FP items for vol.4 and 5 right now but we'll see. For me, it really depends on what the FP item is as well as what Otome releated item will be released around the same time frame. The only thing that tempts me into having it ship in march is the Otome Special Book that i mentioned about that is being released on March 25. However, this book is quite expensive for 64 pages, though the FP does inlcude a Otome Towel as well as pics of the 16 characters in sorta the same vein as the fuuka gakuen idol book. actually the more i think about it....screw it i'm having both ship right away /images/graemlins/tongue.gif /images/graemlins/sweat000.gif.

There are two versions of the trailer (a long four minute version and a shorter ninety second version), most of which I believe is supposed to be exclusive to this DVD release - I certainly don't expect the TV show to look quite this good, or for it to contain the bit at the end where they tell you how awesome the show is going to be /images/graemlins/sweat200.gif. Theres one fairly long trailer (20minutes-ish) on the disk with Laharls VA and the original creator.

I received my first set of February stuff. Only one DVD in the box from SMJ, but there was also something else I had been anxious to get.

First up:

The Kaleido Star OVA LE (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v77/slerch666/Stamps/Kaleido-Star-OVA-LE.jpg). Unfortunately the auction didn't include the bonus poster, but I did get a bit cheaper than I would have otherwise.

And then finally, the grand daddy of all goodies:

Ginga Tetsudo 999 stamp collection! (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v77/slerch666/Stamps/Stamps.jpg)
Booklet with set (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v77/slerch666/Stamps/Stampd.jpg)
Other fliers with the set (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v77/slerch666/Stamps/bookdescrip.jpg)

Put simply, these stamps look f-ing AMAZING. I love them. Sure, I paid ~$20 for $8 worth of stamps (thanks to deputy fees and shipping), but damned if it wasn't well worth it!

I may try and track down another set, just because. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

I got my next box of Feb goodies, though these didn't technically ship to me from Japan (thanks to MB and Rareflix on eBay!) MAY NOT BE SAFE FOR WORK!:

****AGAIN- MAY NOT BE SAFE FOR WORK!****
Discipline Mook (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v77/slerch666/BB%20Collections/Discipline.jpg) - some very nice artwork in this one. It has a lot of the art used in the game, along with some line art. Unfortunately it's like all things Japanese so the pics are censored... doesn't mean it doesn't still look fantastic!

And next up is a Bible Black Gashopon for Saeki:

****AGAIN- MAY NOT BE SAFE FOR WORK!****
In the package (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v77/slerch666/BB%20Collections/in-package.jpg)
Out of the box front (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v77/slerch666/BB%20Collections/front.jpg)
Out of the box side (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v77/slerch666/BB%20Collections/Side-1.jpg)
Out of the box back (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v77/slerch666/BB%20Collections/backside.jpg)

I love this figure. I think it looks loads better than the garage kit they have for her. If they made a full size statue that looked like this gashopon (well, larger and more detailed of course), I'd buy it in an instant.

Amazing!! It´s IMO also good to see that they do produce goodies of Ginga Tetsudô 999 which is NOT taking the movie designs (Tetsurô IMO needs to look clumsy with his coat ^_^). I know it´s asked much, but does the stamps list the artist for the stamp designs anywhere?

And the Tsukuyomi send away? OH YES, IT WILL BE MINE, OH YES. I'm pulling all the cards tonight and mailing them off, registered mail, to Masato baby.

I'm not seeing anything specific pertaining to artist(s). What you see in the scans is exactly what came in the package.

And my reading of Japanese isn't super spectacular, so it may have it and I'm not seeing it.

I gave you scans here of everything except the back of one card, which explains how to position the stamps on the enclosed card... thing. Like hell I'm spending $20 on stamps just to lick them and stick them on a freaking card!

Nice post slerch666.

Though one quick suggestion, play around with the exposure time of your camera to cut down on the blurriness. Without the tripod (which I also use) try increasing the shutterspeed to counteract the shakey hand.

I'm far from a photographer (it certainly isn't the camera, as it's my Dad's and it was damn fine at the time he bought it, since he's into photography). /images/graemlins/wink.gif

I've changed the shutter speed, but I guess it wasn't enough. My hands are pretty shaky normally, and I find TRYING to be still makes it worse.

If there is anything in particular anyone would like a better picture on, just let me know and I'll take them tomorrow when I should have the tripod available (so my pics will be much less poop-tastic). /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Do you have all the little post cards that came with the DVDs? They should have a questionare looking thing on one side, and a little cut out stamp sized image of Hazuki, Hiromi, Elfreide and so on drawn on them. These little stamp sized things are what you need. You need to cut them out, and place them on the back of the post card that came with vol. 13 (if you look at the back you will see there is a place for all 12 of the stamp sized things).

You will then want to contact Masato (http://www.m-world-service.com/). They will give you a mailing address to send the card and attached stamps to. Once the coupon and the stamps are received, they'll ask for payment of 1858 Yen via PayPal. Once you're paid up, the card will be sent in and sometime in April (or is the cut off in April? Damn it, I can't remember and I already sent my cards in) they'll receive the send away item. Once it's received, they'll let you know and likely give you a shipping total. You pay the shipping (+ 5% for PayPal fees) and they ship the item to you.

It's really not that difficult.

Why do you have to use Masato? Because they will actually send the cards in for you. Being outside of Japan means you can't send the cards in for the send away item directly.

How can you avoid the fees? Find someone in Japan willing to help you. I don't have anyone I know in Japan right now, and even if I did, most people only visit for a few weeks tops, which wouldn't exactly be conducive to them being in Japan when the bonus art book thing is shipped to them.

The Shoujo Kakumei Utena DVDs look decent! King Records gave it some great cover art. Damn I´m very tempted to go for the DVDs of this series...yet with King Records I´m always hesitating because I "fear" a re-release once the anniversary year for the series is upcoming (next year if I´m not wrong) ^_^"

First in response to to Randall Flagg, yes those are the regular covers. If you look at the catalog number and release date you'll realize that it was one of those very early dvd releases by any company much less King Records. The release is cd sized, simple, and sort of bare compared to the products of today.

I was surprised that they used different artwork than what was featured on the laserdiscs. Makes it nice to own both.

I actually asked a King Record/Star Child rep if there were any thoughts on a re-release for Shoujo Kakumei Utena at the last Anime Expo. It was due to the fact that Nadesico is getting a remastered release, it should be the anniversary year for the series, the movie got a remastered release, and since the original dvds came out in 1999 it could be a way for them to create interest in the series again before milking it for money. Even though he shrugged off the question I think that a re-release is quite possible.

I see. Given how King Records handled other series in regards of re-releasing them I guess I´ll hesitate a little longer to see wether Shoujo Kakumei Utena is going to be re-released or not (if not I´ll buy the original DVD release...I actually love jewelcase DVD releases out of reasons beyond me).

Btw. tseniv since I remember reading on your site that you take pictures of your *decent* collection when asked...would it be possible (if it´s not too much trouble) for you to take some pictures of the Tsukihime Prologue DVD?

I could tell it was an early cd sized release. I was just so surprised by the different art used, that I was thinking it might be LE art or something.

May just have search Yahoo JP for a set.

You're not the only one on the fence as to whether buy it now or wait for a possible remastered release. I love this show so much and want to own in on R2 as well... Its definitely on top of my Wanted R2 anime list. But as it is now, I prefer buying stuff I don't own on R1 because of the price.

Here's a quick shot of things that came in over the past 2 days. Three doujins from T2 Artworks, one from Digital Accel Works, and the 13th volume of Bleach. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v293/marsh-/Random%20Pics/march002.jpg)

Not a fan of that kind of doujinshi, but spelling the name on the one to the left "Runar" instead of "Lunar" brought some laughs from me. "Runar" is an old fasioned Nordic male name... /images/graemlins/sweat000.gif /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

Oh look, two posts in the same thread. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

In any case, February was rather light continuing the trend of 'moderation'.

I've updated my log page accordingly. (http://www.colonyworks.com/R2_log.htm)

Enjoy!!

Whoever wants to, feel free to start the next orgy. We're into three digits on this one so it's about time.
