Here are some statements made by the devil of anime himself Al Kahn. I found some of these quotes while I was searching for Tokyo Mew Mew stuff.
#1. "By the time we localize the programs kids don’t even know they’re from Japan any more."
#2. Kahn stated that he felt that labels such as "Anime" are for adults and mean nothing to children.
well thats all I found on one artical but I think it's enough to us entertained for awhile

Who is Al Kahn? Is it that 4kids guy? Well when someone says "anime" to me, I think of animated things from Japan. I don't think of Rugrats, Doug, or whatever they're trying to push on kids now(I do like both that I mentioned). I always find it funny be it video games, movies, or even anime where you get someone just out to make cash go "Oh yeh, this label is only for adults, we could care less".
For once I have to agree with ADV when they said the key to the anime market is keeping your fans happy. I refuse to buy ANY 4kids merchandise though. After ripping One Piece a new one, and editing the hell out of other shows, I'm staying the hell away.
The jist of it is the guy sees anime as another cabbage patch doll. He could care less about it being from Japan, keeping the original form intact and etc. The guy wants money for his company.

I don't really see the point in starting a "lets bash 4kids yet again" thread. There's plenty of other places you can do that other than here.
