Hi,

I'm UK based, but looking to import from either US/Canada, or Australia. I just could do with recommendations on which *complete* series to import. They do not necessarily have to be box-sets either.

I'll make a list of which series I've seen, and simple rating system of A = Liked B = OK C = Not good

What do you think I would like?

Ghost in the Shell A
Ghost in the Shell:SAC A
RahXephon A
Neon Genesis Evangelion A
Zeta Gundam A
Gundam Seed B
Mobile Suit Gundam Movies B
Gundam Wing C
Memories A
The Voices of a Distant Star B
Macross A
Votoms A
Getter Robo B
Cutey Honey C
Giant Robo B
Read or Die OVA A
Spirited Away A
My Neighbour Totoro B
KiKis delivery Service B
Princess Mononoke B
Blame! B
S-cry-ed B
Angel Links C
Apple Seed (Movie) B
Battle Angel Alita B
Berserk B
Betterman C
Blood the Last Vampire B
Blue Submarine 6 B
Boogiepop Phantom B
Bubblegum Crisis B
Cowboy Bebop B
Dirty Pair B
Excel Saga B
Full Metal Panic B
Gall Force B
Gunbuster A
Kiddy Grade B
Serial Experiments Lain B
Nadesico C
Outlaw Star B
3x3 Eyes C
Rayearth OVA B
Aura Battler Dunbine C

The Read or Die series is an obvious one but very expensive.

Well, the longest series I can think of that you'll really like is Patlabor. I know the R1 release has the OAV, TV, New Files and all 3 Movies. Top notch series.

The OAV, TV, New Files and 3rd Movie can be found in box form.

OAV 1 box, 2 discs.
TV 3 boxes, two 4 disc boxes & one 3 disc box
New Files 1 box, 3 discs.
3rd Movie 1 box, 3 discs.

While the 1st and 2nd movies are in singles only, I think.

Check out the site in my profile :D

I can't think of much off the top of my head, but I'll see what I can do...

-You seem to like Ghibli stuff, so check out their other stuff.
-If you liked Hoshi no Koe (Voices of a Distant star), check out Kumo no Mukou, Yakusoku no Basho (The Promised Place Beyond the Clouds, titled "The Place Promised in Our Early Days" in R1)
-Trigun is sort of like an old western Cowboy Bebop
-Record of School Wars: Muryou (AKA "Shingu: Secret of the Stellar Wars" -- dammit, stop changing titles to stuff, licensors) is good, it's not quite as mecha oriented as Gundam or Eva or Rah, but you should like it anyway
-You may like Sensei no Ojikan -Doki Doki School Hours- or Dokkoida?! if you like Excel Saga. Though Dokkoida?! may be pushing it, as it's sentai and Excel isn't.

I suppose I can't think of too much more at the moment. I tend to gravitate towards comedy. Your rating for Nadesico disappoints me /images/graemlins/sad.gif

Thanks for the recommendations. I think I might have to wait and see what is going to be released this year.

True but it's still on par with GitS:SAC or any other top-tier show. It's definitely one of my favorites. Same goes for GitS:SAC 2ngGig.

You might also want to try Fruits Basket. It's a bit different than what you seem to prefer but it's still a very good show.
