I love the manga (hell it can't come out fast enough for me) and I'm thinking of picking up the anime too. How does it compare to the manga? How are the production values of the animation and coloring etc? Thanks.

While I haven't read the manga, it looks a lot like the earlier episodes of Yu Yu Hakusho. I want to like the show, but for me at least, it feels just like YYH, only not as good. Still enjoyable, but a little more out there with the powers. I like it better when the powers stay within a certain limit and ingenuity solves the problem, but all shonen's so out there that there's no way I could argue an acceptable limit.
I recommend renting the show. That's what I'm doing, and it's been fairly enjoyable. Just not something I'd ever want to watch again.

Since I didn't post in the last linked thread ...
Flame of Recca, the anime, is a lot of fun. It will win no awards for being the best animated show (because it isn't) nor will it win awards for being the most creative anime ever, since it's not. It's brainless fun with the most kickass female character ever. Of course, the anime has an 'ending' which leaves a whole lot up in the air but since you read the manga, I see no issues with that.
And, you know, I've not watched the YYH anime but if I compare the mangas (both of which I read), Flame of Recca comes out way ahead.

I've watched all but the last arc of Yu Yu Hakusho(March can't get here soon enough)and read up to vol 15 of Flame of Recca and because I'm a shonen-head(see username) I loved them both. If the only real problem with the anime is it "ends early" that isn't a problem cause I plan on picking up all the mangas as they come out.

If you're already reading the manga then there's really no point in getting that anime, since the anime changes and deletes several things for the worst, and ends prematurely after the big tournament arc, meaning that in order to see how the series ends, you WILL need to read the manga.
