View Full Version : Characters you can immediately identify by clothes/accessories
Since I had some time off yesterday and today(sick as a dog heh), I decided to watch some of my "old" DVD's. I caught myself watching a couple disks of Full Metal Panic. While rewatching it, I noticed a few things about Chidori. For example she wears pink shoes and has the usual red ribbon. As soon as you see her, even if it was a shot of her back, or her feet, you could go "Oh yeh, thats Chidori".
The same can be said for characters in other series where they have clothes that immediately register as belonging to them, or a accessory that identifies them. So I thought that it would be a good idea for a topic. While we might not notice it, I found myself picking up little things like I mentioned with Chidori. Even in something like AMG TV with Urd's silver bracelets.

Kyo and his beads. (Fruits Basket)
Ryoma and his hat. (Peacemaker Kurogane... he's like the only guy with a cowboy hat in the series!)
Aion and his completely white outfit. (Chrono Crusade)
I'd be shocked if someone couldn't recognize Sailor Moon.

Yusuke Urameshi from Yu Yu Hakusho, simply because he is the only character to wear a green uniform while blue si the required color. Even if you don't know anything about the character, seeing him in a group of his classmates and him standing out like that says something about the character. Even the "badass" Kuwabara dosen't have the gumption to do that. /images/graemlins/happy.gif
Asuka and Rei from Eva are easy to pick out in thier plug suits.
Naruto wears a rather distinct outfit. Though it isn't exactly stealthy, it does make him stand out in a group.

I don't think anyone could mistake my favorite, Lum, for anyone else.

Way to many to list honestly.

Spike Spiegel's shoes. Not only do they seem impossible to put on or take off, They just looks so funny. A mix between space-boots and blue suede shoes.

No kidding. This thread is just an excuse to list your favorite anime character, I think. /images/graemlins/stunned0.gif /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Bah, Luffy isn't my favorite anime character. He's not even my favorite One Piece character. Anyway, if you want a thread that's an excuse to name your favorite anime, then look no further than the "overrated/underrated" threads.
Heh, it could seem that way. I made the thread after thinking about the subject(as I mentioned in my first post). It's fun to see how many little "visual clues" they give you about a character.

I disagree. If your favorite character is from a school drama, it's highly unlikely they'd qualify for this thread. Kujibiki Unbalance being the exception that proves the rule /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Even if the magical girl has an identical twin? Where most of the time the only way to tell them apart is the fact two sound a bit different. Yeah I'm referring to Mina and Nami of Happy 7. Or is it good enough to be able to say. Hey that Mina, err I mean Nami, err no wait Mina, okay I'm sure it's Nami, and you get the idea.
Come to think of it the real fun is trying to recognize which twin is which in some series. Sometimes the twins are different enough that it's easy to tell them apart. Such as Tomomi and Mikage of Miracle Girls. Which everyone should watch. Sometimes it's harder, but there is a sligth different in terms of look. Ie Yuna and Yuma of Pani Poni Dash. Finally there are those that are almost impossible to tell apart. Ie Mina and Nami whenever they don't talk.

Any of the Sailor Senshi and Tuxedo Kamen.
Robin Sena from Witch Hunter Robin. Not too many girls wearing petticoats in this day and age I should think. At least outside of a convent.

Lucy - Her main outfit was mix of different clothes but the hat she wore is the highlight of the whole garment. The hat made her look like one of the Keebler elves. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Yeah, plus that hair style of hers stands out a mile. I don't think I've ever seen another one like that anywhere.
Sometimes it is little things too. Lina Inverse for example, you might be quick to spot that cape and the red hair, but for me it is always thos gigantor golden ball earrings. So Garish! /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

Also, the "phantom" girl in Infinite Ryvius always reminded me of Boogiepop, in a way.
