Beautiful!
So, this IS subtitled, right?
Doesn't really matter now, but it'd be nice for a confirmation.
Amazon Japan has my copy on hold (going to ship with Paradise Kiss, vol. 2 SE in Feb.).

What I want to know is if the regular version is subbed. It says on CD Japan that the LE version's subbed, but there's no mention of this with the regular version.

What, you want to pass up on this? Amazon still has it available. /images/graemlins/happy.gif Although it's not as cheap as the pre-order price. (licks lips)

I don't think I can, or want, to afford this kind of LE. I haven't even seen half of the TV show anyway /images/graemlins/wink.gif

The good thing about having this order held off until halfway into February is that I'll only have to wait about 6 weeks after that to actually watch the movie. (Going by the Cartoon Network airings). /images/graemlins/sweat000.gif

In a moment of weakness, I ordered this last night. The stupidest thing is, I've only seen up to episode 24, and I'm following Funi's release. Bah, I'll probably watch it anyway and spoil myself.

yep it has English subs, going to watch it after Lost tonight.
As far as I can tell the regular edition should have English subs too. All the extras are on the 2 other DVDs, so the movie DVD should be the same for both releases.

No, the LE disc is special. It has an audio commentary too. The regular edition has no commentary and no English subtitles. This is why no one is buying the regular one and it's 30 bucks. :D

Quick question about the movie itself...
when at the end you see Lust and Scar, is that something that will be explained in the series, if not, I'm somewhat confused as to how they get there(or does Scar cross the gate? ya, I'm following FUNi's release so I didnt finish yet, lol

I'll explain your question as simply as I can, the real world and the alchemist world are two different dimensions. It just happens that the alchemist world had the ability to use alchemy, while the real world did not. As a result, such things as physics are not as important in the alchemist world (as demonstrated in the beginning of the movie) and the real world has developed flight, unlike the alchemist world. Since each world is a different dimension, there is an identical person in each dimension, but because events occured differently, they are not the same when it comes to personalities, names, or history.
I hope this will bring some understanding to the confusion.

I got my FMA movie LE edition from CDJapan two nights ago. Despite some mispellings and grammatical errors, the English subs were coherant. The movie is very good especially the larger budget for the animation.
Too bad Maes didn't travel back to the alchemist world... would've been kind of cool to have him and Mustang fighting together as brothers in arms again. Oh, and the movie left the ending somewhat open-ended with the picture of the younger Ed and Al together in the real world... what does that suppose to mean? Oh, and we get a chance to see depictions of some real-life Nazis like Rudolf Hess, Dr. Karl Haushofer and Hitler, himself.
Oh, and I absolutely love Winry's new outfit... /images/graemlins/noseblee.gif

Huh? I didn't notice ANY typos or grammatical errors. I'm pretty certain this is the official English subtitle track for the international release as well... Care to point them out? Maybe I missed them, because the subs here are better than pretty much all the R2 live-action movie subs I've seen and I'm really puzzled as to why it's only in the LE disc. /images/graemlins/happy.gif

Only saw two instances of them:
Winry: "..Forgotton who you're talking to." (to Ed).
Mabuse: ".. there.. " (just a capitalization error.)
