The Jigoku Shoujo DVD1 (http://www.wrexgrafix.com/anime/r2covers/jan06_orgy/js_dvd1.jpg) LE comes with a hard cover case and a transparent thingie. It also comes with a color insert and a small black envelope that contains two hanafuda cards. I assume there are different hanafuda cards. Mine has one with a pic of Enma Ai and another that has the quote, "ippen shinde miru?" Anyone else have different cards? Here's a pic of the insides. I got my copy few days ago and I have found out that there is some sort of a prize if you bought all 9 DVDs of the series. as my japanese reading is minimal could you or anyone explain how this might work, especially for people outside japan?

According to the Official site, those that purchased and own the clipboards/coupons attached to the firstpress of the DVDs will be able to apply for a Jigoku Shoujo artbook (once you´ve bought all DVDs and therefore collected all the coupons of course).

To add to what Little Harlock said, you have to write your address, name, age, and phone number on both sides of the info sheet. You must also send a 500 yen postage stamp for those living in Japan. The sheet with collected yellow stickers must be sent between September and November of 2006 and the artbook will be mailed to you in February of 2007.

This of course, says nothing about those not living in Japan. I'd send them an email asking if they could mail things outside of Japan. I'd be good to propose that you could prepay the postage somehow (but how, I have no idea).

My copy of the OP single finally got here, there are two cards in that as well. One has a girl pulling the red string (I think it said it was from ep 4), the other has Wanyuudo's line (urami.. whatever).

That's weird, mine didn't have the transparent thingie... Did one come with Vol.2 as well?
About the cards, it appears that they are all the same.

If it wasnt with a transparent cover, then it may not a 'first press' item

Thats what I assumed, but it still has the hard cover case... Wasn't that a First Press bonus as well?

If anyone is interested, the official page lists a second soundtrack to be released the same day as the 4th Volume of the Anime: Jigoku Shoujo Official Page (http://www.jigokushoujo.com/cdvideo.html)
The soundtrack is not yet listed on either CDJapan on AmazonJP from what I saw.
About the transparent-thingie, I have found no mention of it in said page, unless it is what it lists as "picture label", which however I believe refers to the disk being picture labeled. It's probably going to drive me mad until I find out what it is...

Here are images of Jigoku Shoujo DVD vol. 2 (http://wrexgrafix.com/anime/r2covers/march06_orgy/js.html). The hanafuda card I got this time was of Ichimoku Ren... it'd be nice if I got one of Hone Onna later...

First of all wrex your picture goodness makes it very hard to resist buying Jigoku Shoujo ^_^"

Now since you bought the second DVD I'd have a question. The Official site mentions that the second DVD features a so-called "Pilot-version Jigoku Shoujo collection". What exactely *is* that?

Also...anyone may know how hard it is to get the firstpress for the first two volumes now? I somehow am tempted to go for the series (9 volumes isn't bad *at least compared to 12 or 13 ^_~* plus the little I read of the manga was quite interesting) yet being a stupid collector I don't wanna miss those firstpress cases/"boxes".

Thanks in advance!

Not "collection" but "version." It was a pilot or promo episode before the first episode was completed. It has an extended version of the painted images shown in the beginning of the opening, introduces Enma Ai, has several still images of her, introduction of her helpers, and some animated sequences from the first episode.

Click here for screencaps from the Pilot episode (http://wrexgrafix.com/anime/jigoku_shoujo/pilot/js_pilot.html)

CDJapan still has Vol.2 w/FP,here. (http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=ANSB-1832)
As for Vol.1, Amazon Japan may still have it. Try sending them an e-mail about it, they will probably be able to tell you if they have any FPs left.
