I think this is the first same series match we're voting on if I'm not mistaken. While either is not very "moe", I'd say Kagome wins out in the Inuyasha female fight.

Heh assuming by some miracle both of them manage to defeat their competion, you could end up with Kanaka Nanase vs Narue Nanase. If I'm understanding and reading the chart correctly. Either way then you'd have the battle of the sisters. Of course the true fun, I still say would be the battle of twins.

Wow. I hated having to choose in these two:

Kanaka Nanase vs. Shinobu Maehara
Misora Tsukishima vs. Kururu

I ultimately chose Shinobu and Kururu.

Gotta love Behoimi, besides, Himeno does not strike me as moe at all.

Kisa and Shinobu are another two obvious choices.

Misora vs. kururu was a toughie, although neither is among my favorite characters. Ultimately I went for Misora--softspoken beats hyper in the world of moe.

Shinobu Maehara -- ouch... toughie, but Shinobu wins for being more panic-driven
Misora Tsukishima -- Kururu's WAY too genki to be moe
Behoemi -- Mahou Shoujo Moe!
Kisa Sohma -- easy choice. she's mute, clingy, and shy. Moe maximum.
Ilya -- Badass moe!
Nanoka Kohinata -- Nono's cute, but Nanoka exhales moe.
Makoto Sawatari -- All Kanon girls are uber-moe
Matsuri Sakuragi -- oh man, Sora vs. Matsuri?! This has to be the toughest choice of them all. Both are dripping with their own unique moeness, but I had to give it to Matsuri because her moe personality has moe looks to go with it.
Inoue Orihime -- more moe personality-wise
Hikaru Shina -- had to go on looks alone
Ichika Tachibana -- easy choice
Sango -- ugh, curse you for making me vote for an Inuyasha girl outside Kanna.

My votes went like this:

Kanaka Namase (World of Narue) - This was a very tough choice for me. Both of these girls are super-cute and have distinctive moe characteristics, but I've seen all of World of Narue and only bits and pieces of Love Hina. So based on familiarity, I went with Kanaka.
Kururu (Bottle Fairy) – That picture of Kururu screams “moe�. (It also screams “Kawaii�!)
Himeno Awayuki (Pretear) – One of my nominations. Behoimi might be cute, but I’m more familiar with Himeno.
Kisa Sohma (Fruits Basket) – She’s a Sohma. ‘Nuff said! /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif
Yuna Kashiwaga (Pani Poni Dash!) – voted based on looks.
Nanoka Kohinata (Koi Kaze) – A very beautiful character in a very beautiful (and unfortunately underrated) anime.
Makoto Sawatari (Kanon) – I like to know why Hello Kitty is even in this tournament. Are you serious?!?!
Matsuri Sakuragi (Ichigo Mashimaro) – Although Sora Naegino is my all-time favorite character in anime, I don’t view her as a moe character. Sora is too independent, strong-willed, and headstrong for me to classify her as moe. I don’t believe that characters that show a strong sense of independence, determination, and will should even be considered moe. Based on this reasoning and not knowing who Matsuri even is, I voted for Matsuri anyway.
Nanase Senjyou (Yumeria) – I will admit that my vote for Nanase was out of sympathy more than anything else. I was reviewing the characters that I nominated for this tournament (I'm a little disappointed that Yuna Miyama didn't make the field of 264) and realized that I probably made a mistake in nominating Nanase. I should have nominated that weirdo Neneko instead, but what’s done is done. I don’t expect Nanase to win, but at least she will get at least one vote in this tourney. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif
Hikaru Shina (Figure 17) – Since I voted for Tsubasa, it made sense to vote for her clone.
Ichika Tachibana (Uta~Kata) – While it could be correct that Clarissa might be anime’s first moe character, I’m not a big Lupin fan, so I voted for the team gimik girl.
Kagome Higurashi (InuYasha) – Moe is not the first thing to pop in my head when I view Sango, and I do believe that Kagome has some characteristics that make her moe, so this was an easy choice. Plus, I would love to see a potential Kagome/Kuyou matchup. /images/graemlins/catgirl0.gif

Makoto Sawatari (http://membres.lycos.fr/ayareiko/images/moe/group5/makoto.jpg) (Kanon) - This character by default. Hello Kitty doesn't really belong in a moé tournament.

Matsuri Sakuragi (http://membres.lycos.fr/ayareiko/images/moe/group5/matsuri.jpg) (Ichigo Mashimaro) - From just watching one episode of each series, this character easily.

Orihime Inoue (http://membres.lycos.fr/ayareiko/images/moe/group5/orihime.jpg) (Bleach) - From the pics, neither character looks particularly moé but I guess this character comes the closest.

Hikaru Shina (http://membres.lycos.fr/ayareiko/images/moe/group5/hikaru.jpg) (Figure 17) - The other twin lost in a close match but I think her sister should win pretty easily here.

Ichika Tachibana (http://membres.lycos.fr/ayareiko/images/moe/group5/ichika.jpg) (Uta~Kata) - The other character looks kind of strange so Ichika is my vote by default but I personally do think she is pretty moé as well. I think she should win this pretty easily.

Given the popularity of Fruits Basket, not to mention she fits moe extremely well, I think she will likely go pretty far. At least, I don't see anyone in this entire group beating her (and if it's possible, as may be the case with Shinobu, it won't be by much).

Given who's in her bracket, it's definitely a possibility that Kisa can win this group. I don't see any stellar contenders in this group, but just like the NCAA basketball tounaments, upsets can happen anytime.

Given who's in her bracket, it's definitely a possibility that Kisa can win this group. I don't see any stellar contenders in this group, but just like the NCAA basketball tounaments, upsets can happen anytime.

I didn't think so at first either, but I recently checked out the first episode of the series just out of curiosity even though I would have went with her anyway just based on the picture alone. She's the most moé out of the three girls that I've seen and didn't really think that Sora was going to win, based on not being particularly moé in my opinion (based on 1st episode), but Kaleido Star does seem to be pretty popular around here so I'm sure that gave her the edge. The Ichigo Mashimaro girls all look moé as heck but now I know at least one of the girls (Miu Matsuoka) is not really moé. I have yet to see the 4th girl, but she definitely looks the cutest and possibly the most moé.

Edit: I guessed right that it was going to be a landslide win for Kisa but I didn't expect it to be by that much /images/graemlins/stunned0.gif. She is definitely moé but personally, I thought Momiji was the most moé character in Fruits Basket. Unfortunately since he's a guy, his nomination didn't make it in /images/graemlins/relief.gif. It would have been interesting to see how he would fare.

Infinite Ryvius was particularly devoid of moe anyway. About the only moe character I can think of in that entire series was the girl in the dinosaur outfit. Not that I don't like Aoi as a character, but drama does not lead to moe situations.

That's pretty much the same way I feel about Planetes and Monster.

I can see Skuld getting to 4, but I can't see her taking Shinobu. I think round 5 will definitely be Shinobu and Kisa. I wouldnt vote for either over a bunch of the characters in the bottom half of bracket 5 (Orihime, Ichika, etc) though. Still, I'm wondering just how powerful Sasami will be. Will she advance to the finals of bracket 5 or will she be a dud?
