The R2 discs are available and they're not much plus for a reasonable price (for an R2). Since i know little about the series:

Could someone fill me in more about the show especially Kurumada Masami fans. Since the show is short(7 Eps for the 3 OVA series in total) i might actually go for it but i was hoping that someone can fill me in (no major spoilers please).

Thanks in advance /images/graemlins/catgirl0.gif

I've never seen the series, but it depends on what part of the manga they're animating. (Actually, I haven't read all of the manga either, but I've enjoyed what I have read)

From what I've heard, it eventually shifts from the ninja/gang/high school aspects and goes into "the world is at stake" mode. I've also heard the OAV series doesn't make much sense unless you've read said manga. I don't think it's quite on par with some of Kurumada's other stuff, but I like almost all of the cast, for what it's worth...

Fuuma no Kojirou only really appeals to hardcore Masami fans or 80s OVA fans because the series is not very exciting or outstanding in any way. It's about pretty boys in school uniforms who are supposed to be ninja, but they behave more like a group of punks who fight each other with ninpou-like special attacks (ex: one guys fights using birds' feathers.) In that regard it resembles Saint Seiya, B't X, and Ring ni Kakero, but there's not a compelling story, memorable characters, or passion, so it comes across as a tired and mediocre knockoff of Masami's other works.
