The only works by Shinkai I am aware of are:
1) She and Her Cat (Kanojo to Kanojo no Neko)
2) Voices of a Distant Star (Hoshi no Koe)
3) The Place Promised in Our Early Days (Kumo no Mukou, Yakusoku no Basho)
4) The Smile (Egao)
Google is your friend. So is IMDB. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif
Yes I saw his IMDB page, but it doesn't really make his filmography very clear.
She and Her Cat is included in the Voice of a Distant Star DVD release btw.

For anime matters, I'd go with the ANN encyclopedia rather than IMDb

The official English title is "Their Standing Places". The Japanese title of the piece is "Kanojo to Neko" which is "She and her cat" but the English title expresses more meaning as to what the short is really about. /images/graemlins/happy.gif

Well, technically the very first one is Tooi Sekai/Other Worlds. 1.28 min length, black&white, no voice track, just background music. Freely downloadable from author's official site (http://www2.odn.ne.jp/%7Eccs50140/world/index.html).
For complete list of works I recommend to check Makoto Shinkai Fan Web (http://daike.hp.infoseek.co.jp/index.html).
