Will we ever see a second season for Rune Soldier?

This show was a blast.

GREAT comedy, GREAT characters, animation of OVA quality....

And as we all know the series "ended" with them in search fro more adventures. So, will we ever see a second season for this?

Does it exists in Japan at least?

Well, the animation was pretty decent, but it's only OAV quality because nowadays OAVs don't look any better than TV series. /images/graemlins/happy.gif

Almost certainly not. Unless a series is really hugely popular, it tends to be the case that a second season either happens within a year or not at all. I very much doubt that 'Rune Soldier' was popular enough. /images/graemlins/sad.gif

I doubt that if 20,000 people all of sudden bought the series, taht the Japanese will decide to make a new season. Unless the USA company will finance the project. The series has to be popular in Japan first for that to happen, or backed financially by a USA company like Big O second season was.

A second season of Rune Soldier would be great but I doubt it will happen. But stranger things have happened.........

Probobly not, it ended the story, but left you with a sense that life contiunes for the characters, but the story was ended. And if there was going to be a second season, it'd have been out long before now.

It was really good show though...

Yeah, exactly. It's in Japan that it needed to be really popular, and when it first was airing/released...

That said, there have been occasions when the fact of a show being a major hit in the US has encouraged funding of more episodes in Japan a long time after the series ended, which might otherwise not have been made because interest in it had long died down. But to my knowledge this has only happened for shows that were huge to begin with so probably still had a good base of Japanese fans (Fushigi Yuugi last OAV for instance). And unfortunately, even if it might work for Rune Soldier, 20,000 people are not going to run out and buy it /images/graemlins/happy.gif

So, a good fun show but time to move on unfortunately. I want a new high-quality fantasy anime, not comedy, that features elves. :>

I doubt we'll see more Rune Soldier at this point. The first series has been out for a good while in both Japan and the US, and no more has yet been created. At least you have a decent sized set of episodes to watch already, unlike some shorter series.

I for one am actually glad, since I didn't like Rune Soldier that much and I'd rather the studios make something else. But I do respect your opinion nevertheless.

...and what an ending it was. /images/graemlins/wink.gif I’ve yet to see a more fitting ending for a series (that I can recall at least). Too bad about the manga though. I almost bought the first two volumes today (again) before I realized it’s been, what, almost two years since the last one came out?

This show/series deserves better treatment.

I loved the series very much and i would surly love a 2nd season. IMHO, Rune Soldier is one of the few series that actually features quality animation, music, and decent story-line too and of course an impressive cast. These combination are kinda hard to find especially with new shows /images/graemlins/happy.gif

Not likely, if they did get a second chance it would probally be low budget since it isn't a massive hit and low budget means.. something like Orphen to Orphen Revenge. IMO the first was great but second sucks.

Anyway's if we're dreaming here... Yeah I'd blind buy Rune Soldier season 2 without thinking and hopefully it would be as good as the first. But there's about 3 dozen shows I could say this about.

I would like to see a season 2 as well, just to see how Ila finally Louie completely into her love trap. But like many here I don't see it happening. Hell even popular shows like like Fruits Basket aren't being made, so a more secondary show like Rune Soldier doesn't have much of a chance.

Yeah another season of Rune soldier would be great. More Ila is always a good thing. Unfortunately there wasn't that much more manga the anime didn't cover. Coures if they based it off the novels...
