Newtype USA - March 2006 issue

My subscribers' copy of the March issue of Newtype USA has arrived; for the curious, here's a rundown on some of the content:

Highlights:
cover - a Gundam from Gundam Seed Destiny
centerfold - Shoko Saibara from Diamond Daydreams
manga - Aoi Nanase's Angel/Dust Neo continues with Scene 2
official art - My-HiME (7 pages)

It's animated, but I don't keep up with the property, so I don't know if it's from a game or if someone's making an anime. It looked like an opening/intro sequence, but to what ... ? And it's letter-boxed ...

It has music (heavy orchestral stuff), and the main character(?) speaking in English, but no credits. Everything the kid says appears on screen in an indecipherable script (the language of the world setting) as well as English.

the onscreen text:
these lines are against a backdrop of the rotating blade of the kid's sword; as it rotates, various images are shown on the faces of the blade
I exist.
neither as a shield nor as a weapon of war.
I will be the sword to slice away all your sadness.
I must not be afraid.
I must not fear.

This may be old news, but I noticed in last month's Previews, the solicitation for Newtype included two versions... one with DVD and a cheaper one without. Are they trying for a cheaper pricepoint again?

The Fullmetal Alchemist stuff should die down for a while after this issue (the April issue, they may want some post TV run piece in there). The TV broadcast first run ends next Saturday, and the movie comes out this fall as the DVD run for the series also finishes.
