Okay, folks, with the issue now resolved regarding PM votes, we're able to get things back on the roll. So I now present to you the candidates for round 4. Please note that you may vote for 2 in the checkbox poll, and you may vote for 1 more (or someone else again) via PM. All votes will be merged before announcing the scores.

That being said, here are the suck... err... players... /images/graemlins/tongue.gif (Just kidding, just kidding...)

EDIT: I also made a typo in the poll. Choice 2 is Kanako Ohno. Sorry for any confusion. (I wonder where that K came from...)

Well, my votes are in. Dark, well, he was easy because he's damn hot. The other one was tougher, but I had to give it to Wolfram. I may hate his personality, but the clash of emotion with him... it's quite interesting.

Monkey Biz is still proud to fully support the 2006 Anime Draft Swimsuit co-champion Éclair (Kiddy Grade)!

As for our second poll vote we has stated our vision of a renewal of male world dominace and to that end voted for the mose masculine character this round: Integra W. Hellsing (Hellsing)!

As for our PM vote well that is consider a highly confindental corporate secret... /images/graemlins/wink.gif /images/graemlins/wink.gif /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Wolfram: *gives Dunno a forced smile* Thank you for your vote! *goes over to Anna* What on earth are you DOING?! You're supposed to be helping me!

Anna: *is hanging up a large sign that says NO BITCHING* Correction: SHUICHI is supposed to be helping you, but you scared him away!

Wolfram: Aren't we going to DO something to attract voters this round, or am I just going to stand around like an idiot?

Anna: Your face is advertisement enough! You're already attracting the votes of people who claim to hate you. What more do you want?

Wolfram: Music, fanfare, a dueling match, SOMETHING!

K: I've got just the thing! *directs Wolfram to a wooden booth* Have a seat!

Wolfram: What the..? *sits down*

Anna: We were saving it for Shuichi. We let him hang out on penguin_tango's team for awhile so he wouldn't see it! *whips out her bullhorn* KISSING BOOTH! ANYONE WHO VOTES FOR WOLFRAM GETS A KISS!

Wolfram: WHAT?!!

Anna: You've already got one vote, right? Oh, D-kun...!

Obviously you can tell where one of my votes went. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif My other vote went to Ohno because she is so awesome. /images/graemlins/catgirl0.gif

Whee... this one took a while to punch up, but I think it was still fun to find out. And I'm sure that people noticed during the drafting process that sometimes things moved fast, other times, they crawled along. And who do you want to blame? Well, of course, people had their share of both, so the best way to point fingers is averages. And here they are, by player:

Anna Sartin: 53 min
B-Rad Lascelle: 59 min
cairber: 3 hrs, 2 min (2 ON)
Scribble: 9 hrs, 23 min (3 ON)
Nabeshinji: 3 hrs, 34 min
GyBaNOJunior: 3 hrs, 2 min (1 ON)
penguin_tango: 2 hrs, 32 min
Famicom: 6 hrs, 51 min (2 ON)
Balthier: 9 hrs, 6 min (4 ON)
Narob: 5 hrs, 29 min (2 ON)
Nuriko: 5 hrs, 39 min (1 ON)
Big-boi: 6 hrs, 30 min (3 ON)
Redneck Otaku: 8 hrs, 43 min (4 ON)
Sojirou the Tenken: 4 hrs, 7 min (1 ON)
ibby: 6 hrs (2 ON)
TnAdct1: 1 hr, 16 min (1 ON)
Lamhirh of the Stars: 6 hrs, 51 min (3 ON)
rainking187: 4 hrs, 41 min (2 ON)
Jimmie M: 3 hrs, 44 min (2 ON)
Dagger: 6 hrs, 10 min

Notes- ONs are times spent overnight, which was defined as 12 midnight EST. Both Anna and Dagger would be skewed to their first picks of their strings, second consecutive picks were not tallied because the difference between them was just creating the new threads. It was quite interesting watching Anna and B-Rad in synch so much, and led to their time differences being so short. And in the middle of it all, TnAdct1 did a great job of the hustle and bustle at all hours, having just over a 1 hour average pick. Everyone stayed under 10, which was good. Also remember that since round 1 submission was by PM, it was not counted in the average.

Now, if you'll excuse me, doing this gave me an idea for round 5...

Let me see here...

R2: 9:14 (pick at 12:52, prior at 3:38)
R3: 2:48 (pick at 14:14, prior at 11:26)
R4: 11:26 (pick at 11:18, prior night before at 23:52)
R5: 4:40 (pick at 17:47, prior at 13:07)
R6: 4:41 (pick at 21:28, prior at 16:47)
R7: 17:25 (pick at 17:22, prior night before at 23:57)
R8: 11:04 (pick at 10:31, prior night before at 23:27)
R9: 4:14 (pick at 17:25, prior at 13:11)
R10: 12:57 (pick at 11:49, prior night before at 22:52)

I'd still say that ~9 hours looks right without having to go recrunch the numbers.

Anna: Come on, girls! You know you want a kiss!

Wolfram: This is base and uncouth behavior, especially for a man engaged to be wed! What would my betrothed say?

2 way ties in Poll voting, now added the mysterious PM vote, who will prevail? :D

Hmmm Mugen ranks the same as Golden Boy... /images/graemlins/catgirl0.gif Interesting if I do say so myself... /images/graemlins/tongue.gif though they do rank the same as two other characters.

omfg only 130+ votes in the poll given that most people picked 2 characters, so thats like 70 people tops ... minus the 20 coaches, that leaves ...

*imagines if the rules remained the same as prior years, where we can only pick 1 character in the polls ...* /images/graemlins/cry00000.gif /images/graemlins/cry00000.gif /images/graemlins/cry00000.gif

/images/graemlins/relief1.gif There's nothing we can do about it, a lot of people swore off the Draft because of the Pm's blehhh and then a lot of interest dropped when the rules were being reworked and before when a lot of people just randomally wander(e.g Care enough to vote or want to).. guess not so much anymore.

And here are the cumulative results from rounds 1-4, as noted on the current Leader Board (http://home.earthlink.net/~lamhirhofthestars/ad2006/leaderboard.html). Remember that this accounting tracks "pure" results, poll-only, so as to avoid problems like double voting. I'm sure dunno001 will post the "mixed" results shortly, which will include PMs that he received. I think it will be interesting to track both, just to see what differences arise.

1st Famicom (70)
1st Anna Sartin (70)
3rd Nabeshinji (62)
4th Dagger (61)
5th Big-boi (56)
6th Narob (55)
7th B-Rad Lascelle (54)
8th GyBaNoJunior (52)
9th Sojirou the Tenken (51)
10th penguin_tango (46)
11th ibby (45)

13th Scribble (41)
14th rainking187 (38)
14th Balthier (38)
16th Lamhirh of the Stars (35)

Kyoko Otonashi (Maison Ikkoku) 4 1 4
Claus Valca (Last Exile) 3 2 4

rainking187 39

Congrats to Narob!

Coach, are you surprised Kaname is your highest placing character so far? I mean Belldandy and Yomiko both have placed higher in the past. You were tied after the poll votes, did you think you had the PM votes to win? Or were you just hoping for the best?

At least Ginrei broke the pattern in this round with 4 votes rather than 3. Seeing Natsumi do as well as she did takes some of the sting out, though.

Well thanks Nos.

I had noticed that a lot of the popular characters of the past two drafts have slipped some bit and had turn outs that were less than stellar. I suppose the ROD craze has dipped and even the new Ah! My Goddess TV series didn't have the same effect I expected it to have. Take a look at Last Exile--a great, great show, but now about two years removed since release. Lavie did impressively the past two drafts too.

I think I can safely contribute Kaname's win to the popularity resurgence from the very well received FMP? Fumoffu. People like their comedies. Did I expect her to win the round? I don't know/didn't know. The competition was exceptional. So I'm just glad for the win.
