Hey guys,
I've been tracking down the boxes for this series for ages and all I seem to find are bootlegs!
I know that Geneon released 2 boxsets that make up the whole series and I have been looking for somewhere to get these from for an affordable price. Bestbuy has them for $39.99 each and I find that quite reasonable but unfortunately they do not ship overseas...
I've been trying Ebay as well but this series is one of the hardest one to look for as the results seem to always relate to something else. If someone had a system to look for legal dvds for it on Ebay please let me know as well. Thanks for your help guys.

edit: bb having it for 40 is damn good.. I looked at trsi and its listed for box 1 as 80.. ouch.. you could have a freind in teh states get it for you and then they ship to you.

You can also narrow your search on ebay by searching by UPC code rather than title. Good luck.

Yeah, I hear ya. I had been searching for the second X boxset for stinkin' forever. It really is a pain in the ass to look for.
I finally picked up the second set at Best Buy when they had the Animerica coupon's for 30% off the $39.99 price. Which I figured was the best I was gunna do for that set.
I don't think it's an LE set, so you could wait for it to drop in price from somewhere you usually buy. Or maybe ask someone here to pick it up at a BB and send it to ya. Someone you can trust.

TSRI had the 2 boxes on their weekly sales a few months ago. Could wait for them to (possibly?) show up there again?

The Australianr elease is actually six discs and in one boxset, but not from Madman. It's from Siren and is of paticularly bad quality.

Indeed. A couple of months ago, they had both on sale. Then, for the next couple weeks, all they had was the first set on sale. The second set hasn't been on sale since the first time they were both on sale together. Unless it snuck by me when I wasn't looking.

Yep! More specifically, on WS of Sept 8 2005. They were both listed at $35.99... and stayed there for the next week, Sept 15. But box set 2 went discontinued on the following third week, Sept 22, leaving box set 1 alone hanging in the WS for two more weeks.
So sorry for this bad news! /images/graemlins/sad.gif

Great --though a bit tardy-- news! /images/graemlins/tongue.gif
TRSI has listed Geneon's new remix release of the whole series. X TV Series Remix DVD Set (1-5) (Hyb) (http://www.rightstuf.com/aod/pd12810). Contains all 25 episodes (0-24) on 5 discs, 650 Minutes.
If you'd like to preorder it now you can get it for $95.84 ($110.84 shipping included) (TRSI price - current GA coupon $6 off $68 - GA discount 10%)! /images/graemlins/catgirl0.gif /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

Thank you for getting back to me on this! I'll definitely be getting the X Remix set, though I'm not quite sure whether I'll be getting it through RightStuf or DVDPacific... I'll see how the coupons stack up at RightStuf...

No problem!
In fact, it's good you didn't preorder it at that time... MSRP has been lowered down recently to $124.98. Now it can be preordered for $78.96 from TRSI (<font color="SlateGrey">i. shipping excluded, ii. price calculated same way as in my last post</font>).
Who knows... There could be a better deal just waiting to be grabbed ... /images/graemlins/catgirl0.gif
Good luck on you hunt for this title!

Actually, that price is incorrect. TRSI's price currently would be $93.74 (25% off SRP pre-order period), add your 10% GA Discount, this then brings it down to $84.37. See for yourself here (http://www.rightstuf.com/aod/pd12810). Also, with the coupon that expires on May 10th at 11:59PM, the $6.00 off would be $78.37.
This would make it currently better than buying from DVDPacific. They still have it listed at $149.98/$95.33. Whenever they change the price, it'll be $124.98/$79.99

My price calculation went like this:
TRSI preorder price: $93.74
Add current GA coupon ($6 off $68): $87.74
Add 10% GA Discount: $78.96
And that's the way I calculated the deal in my post on 27th (http://forums.animeondvd.com/showthreaded.php?Number=1331469).
So, you're right if you only used 10% GA Discount; which is not what I did in either post.

Doh! In my calculation, I did the 10% GA Discount before the coupon, however, this only makes a small difference of $0.59

*sigh* That's the same price I paid for my X TV boxsets 2 months ago. /images/graemlins/cry00000.gif
