I went to a internet shop and seen Angel Blade the movie Umd cheaper than the dvd. I also seen Bible Black have more episodes on the umd(2) than the dvd(1). For example dvd are 70-90$ and umd are 35-45$. Now why do umd cost more than a dvd in the US

b) Isn't this in the wrong forum?
c) Since DVDs are much better than UMDs, plus you can convert them to memory stick if you really insist on watching them on a PSP, plus that conversion also works on *other* portable media players... UMD *ought* to be cheaper, so the right question is the one in the last sentence of your post about the US. (And the answer is that many more people buy DVDs so they probably cost much less to make, distribute etc.)

This is a severly limited case. I live in Japan and have shopped for UMDs. They are far from reasonable here. Most of them cost the same or MORE than the DVDs, and most are priced around 3900 yen, which is like $35. Whereas a lot of popular DVDs are available for anywhere from 900 yen to 3000 yen on average. So no, UMDs are not cheaper here. I'd kill for a couple US priced UMDs for my PSP. But I can't bring myself to pay the crazy amount they charge here. And they wonder why the format is doing worse here than the US (and minidiscs were/are huge here!)
