Can't find an old thread for this so I hope it's okay to start a new one.
As Moonphase reports a press site (http://www.tekkon.net/) for the announced theatrical anime/CG adaption of Taiyo Matsumoto's manga Tekkon Kinkreet (aka Black & White) has been launched. As can be read (and has been announced in late 2005) on the site the director for the movie is scheduled to be Michael Arias with Studio 4°C (http://www.studio4c.co.jp/) being the production studio. Scheduled to be released in 2007.

Mostly looks good, but the eyes are really far apart. Just checked the manga and they are much closer together in the original.
Anyone else ever see the test footage they did a few years back? It looked great, but the temp voice acting was awfully generic sounding and didn't work. Hopefully they'll have more unique voices by the time the movie is finished.

There is a short CG movie for Tekkon Kinkreet available at the Official site for the Japan Media Arts Fevistal site here (http://plaza.bunka.go.jp/english/festival/backnumber/11/sakuhin/tetsu.html).

Don't know why I missed this thread earlier. This has to be my most anticipated animated project out of Japan in the next year after all.
The character designs seem okay to me, eyes seem right to me per the manga, but Matsuoto's designs were always so abstract and liquid it's hard from the original work to identify a singular character image, let alone facial proportions. But, hey, it all looks wonderful to me. Like a dream.
Thanks for the links, littleharlock and Andrew both.

For those who couldn't watch the RealPlayer trailer before, the website (http://www.tekkon.net/) now has the teaser up. Gah, I can't wait for this. /images/graemlins/catgirl0.gif
