I will be joining the discussion as soon as I finish my set up. I was temporarily preoccupied by some other shows I had been finishing up.

It's been a while since I saw VOTOMS first arc... I had forgotten how freaky Fyana looked in these early eps. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

VOTOMS stands out and shall be remembered as the classic anime that pioneered saying weird things in the next episode previews:

"Chirico drinks the coffee of Uoodo City, and that coffee is bitter indeed."

I rewatched this arc with friends over the summer (before the new release was announced), so I haven't been going over it again on my copy of the new set.

Uoodo's probably the most vivid of the settings for VOTOMS (and certainly the easiest to talk about and clone for RPG settings), but the final arc and the first part of Sunsa are probably the best in terms of writing.

On the other hand, Uoodo sets the entire world of VOTOMS up perfectly: Watch your back because for every nice person there's a hundred ready to stab it. I'm honestly surprised that more people who are pro wrestling fans don't watch this series, as there's a face/heel turn every other episode. Nothing is predictable, and there's always another secret to reveal.

I tried to post around a week ago, but the site said there were some SQL problems and my post never appeared. Anyway, I've seen the first 7 episodes, and I'm really enjoying it.

Chirico's a great character. It's been a while since I've seen a character who doesn't take BS from anyone and isn't a loud ass at the same time. It's quite refreshing. I hope CPM gets around to releasing the OVA as well.

I watched the first disc of Uoodo last night/this morning. I've been kinda putting off watching it because of my backlog. Anyway, I loved the first disc. Very intriguing story! The show has a very nice flow as Chirico seems to get into mess after mess but it doesn't really feel forced.
