I'm just wondering if anyone received Ebay's notification of any insertion fees policy changes?
Previously, let's say I were to list an item for $49.99 for $1.20. Then after that I want to change it to $24.99 for $0.60. instead. Before, I would always get credit for the $0.60 difference.
I tried to change a listing today from $300($3.60) to $199 ($2.40), but Ebay did not give the credit. $1.20 is not a lot but still....??!! /images/graemlins/anger100.gif /images/graemlins/stunned1.gif /images/graemlins/depresse.gif
The CS rep said nobody ever got any such credits back from the start of Ebay till now. Differences in listing fees are NEVER EVER credited back.
Erm....I frequently changed the listing prices for some stuffs I sold since I first opened the Ebay account till now, I always got the differences back even till 2 weeks ago.

This is something that Ebay changed without informing anyone. (at least I didn't hear of any changes) Yes in the past they would credit back the money immediately, but now they just keep the money.
Really frustrating for those of us who list a lot of items for sale. Sometimes I might add items to an auction or take away items, adjusting prices accordingly. If I make it lower then my starting price I'm SOL for the money. Personally I think there should be a standard starting fee no matter what the cost of the item is. They should only take out what they need from the final value of the item.

I really don't mind the insertion fees right now, albeit expensive, if they would credit back the differences if we were to change our starting prices. I tend to change my mind very often depending on what the items are.
Isn't it like, I walk into Nordstrom, decided to buy a pair of shoes for $100, then changed my mind, wanted to get one that's only $80. I should get my $20 difference back but hell no, it's being pocketed. Kind of like daylight robbery.
Geez, is it even legal to do that?

After the CS told me that Ebay never ever credited the differences in listing fees back to the account, I checked my invoices. Eh.....I did get credited back for the differences when I lower my starting price.
I didn't bother to show CS those credits just in case freaking Ebay decided to take all the credit backs and charge me full for the last 3 years or so.
Man...I wish Ebay's not the biggest online market. It's a rip off! /images/graemlins/cry00000.gif /images/graemlins/cry00000.gif
My friend was bitching to me about 30 mins ago. She also didn't realise that Ebay's not crediting back her account since she got credit just 3 days ago for making changes to the starting price. She accidentally put in one more 0 in the starting price, didn't notice till she submitted the auction. She was charged $4.80. CS transferred her to billing. Billing refused to give her back the money even though they were notified less than 1 min from the start of auction.

E-Bay is a monolopy that's why they do it because unfortunately they know they can be assholes without losing much business. Having them as the "only game in town" really sucks but unfortunately I for one don't see that changing anytime soon. /images/graemlins/anger200.gif
