Ah! My Goddess! Season 2

The 2nd TV series of Ah! My Goddess! has started. The sub title is "Sorezore no Tsubasa" (Everyone's Wings) and judging by the opening animation, we'll get to see more of the other goddesses and Urd's mother, the demoness Hild.

The first episode's plot has to do with Keiichi having to say the exact phrase he said when he first made the contract with Belldandy because the contract was damaged in the incident invoving Terrible Master Urd.

I thought it had a good amount of comedy and development. I'm glad to see AMG back on TV. ^_^

Heh, I love Urd as a character. I guess you can say she brings a "mature" mindset when it comes to Bell and Keichi. The second season looks pretty good, and if we get a visit from some of the characters in the op(won't spoil), then it should be great.

All I'm hoping for in this season are:
1. Sentaro shows up
2. Chihiro makes an appearance

5. One or 2 of Megumi's story arcs

Of all the character designs in the TV series, having finally got used to Belldandy's thinner features, Keiichi seems wrong somehow.

In the OVA he was small & shyish, in a "pet" kind of way, & easier to see why Belldandy would want to look after him perhaps. But TV Keiichi looks..nothing of anything. Completely unremarkable, nothing distinguishing, no features to help define his character.

Keep in mind that the character designer is mixing the way Keiichi currently looks in the manga with his defining OAV features (the haircut). Every animated version of AMG tried to mirror the manga stlye used during that time in Japan and as the manga continued OAV Keiichi did evolve into his TV design (and got a new haircut, the one seen in the movie). Honestly thought I wish they kinda "regressed", at least, the hair designs of the other characters and had them evolve like they did in the manga. (I want my freakin' Skuld with the BIG GIANT YELLOW BOW. Then again we may get that depending on how they adapt the "Queen Sayoko" arc).

I was wondering if the father of Belldandy and her sisters' is the Almighty? I think it's been implied a couple of times in the anime and manga but I can't remember where. I looked everywhere for any info to confirm this but couldn't find any.

I've seen video clips for the first 4 episodes so far, and I'm happy with them so far.

If the opening credits are any indication, we should be seeing characters like Hild, Noble Scarlet (Skuld's angel), Chihiro (the founder of the Nekomi Tech Auto Club), and Sentaro (Skuld's boyfriend) among others.

A few spoilers:

Rind/Lind makes her debut in the first episode. Basically there are a few lingering problems in Heaven after the 'Lord of Terror' story and she's assigned to sort them out.

Mara comes back, briefly, in episode four, an adaptation of sorts, of the 'Hand in Hand' storyline with a few changes and twists. Bell gets plastered on a can of cola and goes around spreading joy to everyone, including poor Mara, while Kiiechi gets nailed by misfortune everytime she helps someone. </span>

Just as an aside question here,... How many manga per season are we seeing with the new AMG series? Just curious as to how many seasons we'll see before it catches up to the current volumes available. That is if it stays in the good graces of the anime fans and is picked up each year to continue on.

Also for those who may know or who've heard information, Has Mr. Fujishima ever said or hinted if he has a definitive set of volumes planned before we see the end of AMG in manga form?

One thing to keep in mind is that they cherry-pick manga stories from across the entire published material, it's not a linear adaptation.
That said, there should be plenty of material to sift through for at least one more season, should they decide to do so.

Heh. I've always been a huge fan of Urd. Belldandy is great and all(and taken), but Urd seems like someone who would go to a bar with you, get drunk, then kick your ass if you didn't stay and have another drink with her heh. Hopefully she gets more screen time as she had a nice little episode at the end of the first season.
