Eureka 7-Hit or Miss?

Hey there,

I just ordered the Limited edition vol.1 of Eureka Seven. The question is: Is Eureka Seven worth my time? Also is there fan service/nudity in the show? Blood (as long as it isn't stupidly exaggerated which is annoying) is ok.

It's a safe series regarding content. I don't think it's a hit or miss series. It's actually very cool, and while there will always be people who dislike something, I feel this is a type of series where the majority would find it at the very least entertaining.

Based on all 50 episodes.

One of the best shows i've seen in years.

- Amazing direction especially in any action scenes
- Art and overall mech and world design are fantastic.
- Amazing and wonderfully developped main cast. This is the area in which the show really shines. By far my favorite cast in any show i've seen in a long time.
- Interesting story that really takes it's time to develop. 1st half of show = Introduction of characters, world etc and development. The plot basically gets into gear in the second half. It's rather well organized and planned out.
- Excellent music, a great mix of a great orchestrated score and a varied mix of many trance and electro insert songs.
- Great ending.

As far as fanservice, none really to speak of, unless you count one character's outift. And blood, well it certainly isn't lacking but it's not overkill either.

hit hit hit hit hit HIT!!!

I only saw the first 20 episodes, but I loved it so much that I'm going to wait to support the series before finishing it to the end. No nudity... not even much sexuality or fanservice (though Talho is really sexy). It's a long run (talking 50+ eps), but the story develops really nicely. Rarely will you be bored with this series. The music is awesome too. I can't get enough of "Shounen Heart"... I never thought I'd be able to sing that fast, let alone in japanese, haha... /brag.

It's kind of a mix between Cowboy Bebop (rag-tag team thrown together by fate), Evangelion (giant robos), and Last Exile (fighting the military with flying ships).

Lots of peoples seem to praise this show, but I don't know, after 20+ episode I just find it boring and bland, it's not "bad" just bland.

And usualy I am rather forgiving, I like a lot Mars Daybreak and King Gainer but Eureka just doesn't work for me, I don't realy care for any member of the cast and the plot is not realy new or even very exciting.

I keeped watching it for some time, hopping it will sundelly become much better, but it hasn't happen yet and I am not sure if I realy want to watch the rest.

Indeed; this is exactly how I felt about the show (although I thought parts of it were downright bad, to be honest).

It's really well made, and you'll probably overlook any flaws the show has if you're a real mecha-head; the mecha sequences are breathtakingly well animated. However, the characters are either unlikeable or uninteresting, and the writing is only "okay"; Dai Sato obviously struggled with having to dumb things down for a kid's show's timeslot, and there are moments when the storyline is interesting and deep offset with retarded kiddie hijinks.

I reckon that most people will like it, but it's far from "BEST SERIES EVER OMG!!!!" or whatever.
