Hey all,
I was looking at the sale and was wondering if I could have some reccomendations. I'll also give some of my own!

1. Azumanga Daioh (funny, not for people who NEED deep plots)
2.Kaleido Star (really well done, highly underrated)
3. Chance Pop Session (amazing 1st volume and I've only seen the fisrt one though)

I was wondering about Megazone 23 because its only 6.00 with Box and Mousepad! Is there objectionable content and if so what?

Thanks,
Azumangaman /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

These are the three that I mentioned in the Retail Forum:
Nurse Witch Komugi
Panyo Panyo DiGi Charat
Wedding Peach

I listed those because they have the complete series available for $5 per volume, though I think that one volume of Wedding Peach was $7.50 for some reason.

I would also suggest whatever is available of Nuku Nuku. Even Nuku Nuku Dash, though I do not like it nearly as much as the OVA or the TV series.

Other cheap ones that I like:
Dai-Guard Perfect Collection ($ 10.00)
Golden Boy Essential Anime Collection ($ 10.00)
Magical Play ($ 6.00)
Mezzo ($7 each, or $9 for volume 1 + box)
Slayers Return, Slayers Gorgeous, Slayers: The Motion Picture Essential Anime Collection ($6 each)
You're Under Arrest The Motion Picture ($ 7.00)

what do you find objectionable?

it was an ova/movie released in the 80s... sides the 80s hairstyles, there is also the nude & sex bits... hmmm seem to recall a shower bit too but forget what part of megazone it was from.

its an 80s sci fi show... pretty good for its time. for the price they are asking, i would say its a safe buy... but its adv sales... so expect the box to be cut or drilled... may effect the mouse pad.

Kimagure Orange Road - Summer's Beginning - $5 (It's quite suprising how many people who havn't seen this film)

My Dear Marie - $5 - a really funny romantic comedy.

Megazone 23 is a great 80's style ova. Historically, it's the 2nd ova ever created(the 1st one being Dallos), Wikipedia Article here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megazone_23), ANN article here (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=2296)

objectionable stuff, standard violence, sometimes in the gory side(specially part 2), Megazone 23 parts 1 and 2 have sex scenes, part 3 only has violence (Ovas originally were created to get away from TV censorship and toy company influence among other things)

Some of the creators involved in this ova series are Hirano(Iczer 1), Ichiro Itano(Macross, Gantz), Umetsu(Kite, Mezzo, Mezzo Forte, Gatchaman 93 & Casshan Robo Hunter), Mikimoto(Macross, Orguss), Shinji Arakami(Mospeada, Gasaraki, Appleseed, BGC) and Noboru Ishiguro(Macross, Orguss, Yamato, Legend of the Galactic Heroes)

I can recommend Megazone 23 for those ppl that enjoy classic storytelling, if you have problems with objectionable content better skip it

Try this. (http://www.advfilms.com/CatalogFilms_Detail.asp?ID=4137)
Since ADV went back to having everything listed on one l-o-o-o-ng page it is easy to miss something.

Ah...the other trick was that I confused this thread as the TRSI Easter one...it all makes sense now.

Can I trust ADV on shipping though?... /images/graemlins/shy00000.gif

I never had any problems with the shipping. The packaging was good enough that nothing was damaged. I really did not pay much attention to it beyond that.
They do say "1 to 4 weeks" for delivery, and that should be taken seriously. It has usually been closer to 4 weeks for me. But since I was expecting that when I placed my orders I did not mind it. Most of the complaints that I have seen are from people who apparently did not notice the "1 to 4 weeks," which is at the bottom of the page. But there were some reports of delivery taking much longer than 4 weeks. The various ADV sale threads in the Retail Forum have had quite a few posts about shipping.
You also need to be aware that ADV charges your credit card as soon as the order is placed, not when the items are shipped.

I ordered the Dai-Guard Collection LAST time for 10.00 /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif but the cover art was ruffled up but I'm on a verge to make it flat again!

ADV's Shipping takes a while (closer to 3-4 weeks) but the deals are worth it. I don't really care about small upc hole-punches, and I've heard that NOW they just have a small marking on the upc.

Are the nude scenes and sex scenes detailed in Megazone 23? I thought it was rated 15+...

Well, they are not Hentai level, something akin to an R rated movie(or the canadian equivalent), if you got no problem with that, it should be ok

For those that care about this kind of thing... It's got Nippleage /images/graemlins/noseblef.gif

I gave into the seductive temptations of the deal and got the Dai-Guard Complete Collection for $15 with shipping.

Now I just gotta hope.....

I bit with their last sale. It took something like 2 weeks to get to me. There's a tiny little dimple in the plastic over the UPC, for those worried about damage. The brick was a lot bigger than I expected, but that's all right.

Wait, are all the prices marked down already?

Or do I look at the TRSI price, then take out 20%?

This is not the thread you are looking for. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

This is the ADV store Easter sale thread. The TRSI In Stock (http://forums.animeondvd.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=1321766&page=0&view=colla psed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1) sale is in that thread. Which I assume is the one you wanted.

Sorry about that >_>
