Just found it listed on HMV (http://www.hmv.com.hk/product/dvd.asp?sku=651111)

Anyone has more info about it?? I've surfed through PANORAMA's website but couldn't find any details!

Akemi Takeda is my favourite character designer (Patlabor, Fancy Lala, KOR, Maison Ikkoku, Urusei Yatsura). Creamy is the only series of hers I don't have so...

LYK what its like when it comes. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

Box 1 better details on PlayAsia (http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-8h-49-en-70-1d29.html)

Box 2 also released May 11th (http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-8h-49-en-70-1d2a.html)

So all 52 episodes. Have to see if the OVAs, Lovely Serenade, Curtain Call, Eien no me More & Zutto Mutto Mutto are also there.

I doubt Panorama owns the rights to the OVAs. I will try to get the first box on Saturday to see if the quality is good.

Same side pic both sides (see site image). By Akemi Takeda of course. Nice sturdy chipboard box. 4 separately cased DVDs.

If a R3 Fancy Lala box set comes out looking as nice, I'll buy it for my Bandai DVDs.

States episodes 1 - 26 in English, so no OVAs by the look of it.

Bottom has the region 3 NTSC logo, DVD-9, Approx 625 mins. DD 2.0, 4:3 screen. Japanese & cantonese dub, Chinese on/off subtitles.

Creamy Mami is the series Akemi Takeda went to do after KOR, I'm glad to have it, & cheap. Added bonus is Saeko Shimazu beings seiyuu for 1 of the characters (according to ANN). Shame about no OVAs but its still made my buying week. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

I just ordered both boxsets as well, should be getting it sometime next week. I'm glad I held off on the Cantonese dub vcds!

Now if they release HYD on dvd, I'll get it in a hearbeat!

You have that backwards. Creamy Mami was several years before KOR and after Mami Akemi did designs for Pelsia, Emi, and Yuumi, as well as Urusei Yatsura and Maison Ikkoku.

Thanks for the heads up. /images/graemlins/happy.gif
I didn't realise she'd done those other series as well.

Have to do some more researching on her work generally, & look for an art book.

Box 2 here. Episodes 27 to 52. Each side has the same Akemi Takeda picture of the 2 girls in ancient greek tunics & sandals lying on sandy ground.

Each volume has its own case, & like volume 1, each case has the same catalogue # - that of the box so there might not be a later separate volume release.

If anyone has the R2Js, what am I missing through not getting the OVAs in these 2 sets?

Can anyone comment on the video quality compared to the R2's,mainly are they progressive and from a component master?

Sorry can't give an analysis of the R3. But I'd say buy a box as they're cheap if you want the series anyway.

Should you eventually go for the R2Js, you won't have lost much.
R3 boxes do not have the OVAs.

She's my favorite along with Shingo Araki. As for Creamy Mami it's not a bad deal at all for the R3 sets, too bad it doesn't include the OVA /images/graemlins/depresse.gif

As added incentive for me to buy it is that it features seiyuu that have played characters in other Akemi Takeda works such as: Saeko Shimazo (Shinubo:YU), Tohro Furaya (Kyosuke:KOR), and Yuko Mita (Benten: UY) /images/graemlins/happy.gif to to mention that the chances of someone bringing it for an R1 release is very unlikely...well unless Animeigo decides to /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Saeko Schimazu is one of the seiyuus I collect releases of.

Naturally got all Dirty Pair (Yuri), Zeta Gundam (Four) & Bagi (Bagi) as well as UY (Inaba favourite OVA).

There's something about 80s Japanese voice acting in shows that I like, almost more than modern shows. Can't pin it down really - perhaps there's more innocence or plainess in the way characters used to speak *shrugs*.

Thanks for the reply, Wrath /images/graemlins/happy.gif assuming you have it, does it at least appear to be from a component master, or are there rainbows, etc? I know it's really cheap, but I'd rather wait for the R2 if the video isn't that good

I'll be starting it properly next month, when I've finished KOR, so will LYK then.
