Does Anaheim Marriott have underground parking (or some other properly shaded parking)? If not, does one of the other hotels (Hilton or Sheraton) have one?

Thanks.

The Hilton had decent covered parking. Please note that the lady may go kung fu on this thread as there is an existing AX thread open...

The Marriot has a parking garage to it's side that is facing twoards the convention center.

The Hilton also has a parking garage on it's side facing away from the convention center, but it is also a very crappy garage that I would be afraid of being inside if an earthquake hit.

Thank you all very much.

Looks like it's not included with a hotel room, just like the internet access and anything else for that matter. Another reminder why I hate LA, but there's no need be pointing that out, I know. Oops, I just did.

This is common for most 4 star hotels sadly. You pay more to get less frills. =(

Some places in LA and NY charge you $12 PER 15 MINUTES for the priviledge of parking...!

Cost of parking is generally directly proportional to how much land the hotel has available and how popular the parking there is for non-overnight guest use.

For example, Anaheim is pretty much a convention city, not to mention the mice next door. So one way hotels make their money from convention goers who attend a meeting at their hotel but don't stay in the rooms there (because they already live nearby or are commuting), is charge parking fees.

I've stared at rooms in San Jose and San Diego where the BARGAIN (?) rate was $300-400+ / night /images/graemlins/cry00000.gif and they charged $40 per night parking.

You must have been looking at the Fairmont when it came to those prices, because usually the more expensive hotels are around $200 a night and parking is around $20 a night here in San Jose.

It was a couple... actually more than a couple now... /images/graemlins/depresse.gif years ago, back when the dot com bubble still hadn't quite burst yet, during convention season when hotels tend to jack rates up.

(See: Coachella Valley Music Festival/Indio where $40/night rooms magically become $200/night+ just for that weekend /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif )

I haven't been in the Bay Area for awhile now, this upcoming Fanime will be the first time I've visited Northern California in more than five years I believe.

I'll be there as well working at Fanime. Hopefully the hotel rates for the Marriot or the Hilton were not that bad for you.

Anaheim is actually OC, not LA. I'm pretty surprised that they're charging customers for parking.
