Amazon JP Gift Certificate - Is this an ongoing program?

I've just recently started purchasing from amazon.co.jp, so I'm still getting familiar with interpreting the interface w/o reading Japanese.

I just got an email that (from Babelfish's gibberish translation) seems to be a coupon for 500 or 1000 yen off a purchase, depending on how much I spend. Am I reading it right that this is tied to some sort of an ongoing frequent-shopper type program where a purchase one month nets you a coupon for the following month?

This Page (http://www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos/tg/browse/-/13752251/ref%3Dpe%5Fgcbm%5F20%5F060518%5F3/250-7154042-1513838) seems to be the details of the offer. Anyone here familiar with this offer (or savvy in Japanese) who can confirm my understanding and/or get into more specific details?

Thanks for mentioning this. I got the e-mail as well. It looks like you can get a 500 yen gift certificate if you spend at least 5000 yen a month or a 1000 yen gift certificate if you spen 10000 yen a month but it has to inlcude books and(/or?) CDs . I'm not sure if anything besides the books and CDs will count towards the 10000 yen total though.

hmmmm I've gotten 500 yen coupons before but never 1,000 yen ones.

and i spend more than 10k yen in a month on a single order, and yes it consists of books and cds, with the odd dvd here and there.

just got a 500 yen one and that order was for 30k yen.

they've had the program before, but it does come and go from time to time.

I got that email awhile ago & wasn't really sure what to make of it with the online translation. Like you I think it's some sort of frequent buyer program. Never gotten a 1000yen off code though only 250 & 500 off & 99% of my purchases are CD's only.
