Well, new shows for the midseason are coming out! The newest romantic comedy is Kamisama Kasoku. One way to describe the show is as an Oh my goddess! with gender reversed. Samatarou is the son of a family of god and goddes. He has the problem that whenever he wishes for something his father, God grants him his wish. The family is living in the human world to teach their children about humans. The family consist of Papasan [God], Mamasan[Goddess], older sister[Goddess]. Younger sister[Goddess]. Tenko[angel] and of course Samatarou[God's son].
This is a romantic comedy with a Love triangle between Samatarou, Tenko, and the new transfer student, Kumiko. The animation was very well done, and the character designs were very cute. This seems to be a winner. I already have my favorite girl picked as who will be the one to end with Samatarou, Tenko. She is just too darn cute, and she has a temper. Tenko reminds me of Kirie from girls Bravo.
Ah so Kamisama finally aired eh? When we did the "what are you going to watch" for the spring season, it was on my list heh. Looks like Demonbane also aired today also. It looks like I have another anime to follow in Kamisama, as the first episode looks pretty good.

I lasted eight and a half minutes.
Grating voices giving terrible performances fail to make the obnoxious stereotypes come to life. Lame, cliche humor overplayed till the show just becomes embarrassing to watch, and it looks like they're going to try and shoehorn some angst in on top of the comedic high concept.
Everything wrong with anime today, despite the lack of maids.
I've no idea if the original novels are any good, but the chances of me ever picking one up are now next to zero. Using the anime as an advertisment for the orignal work fails when the result sucks this bad.

So, in my quest to catch up as much as I can on recent shows, I've now reached Kamisama Kazoku. I'm finishing up episode two now.
Best moment so far?
"Is there anything you ARE interested in?"
XD Ahaha, what a amazingly random answer. I think Meme-chan should fill my "devious little loli" quota nicely. [[Edit - Episode three - roulette wheel of manipulation? Yes, Meme definitely DOES fill the devious loli quota XD Ahaha.]]
Anyway, Samatarou's mom and dad are a bit too over the top for me... that type of comedy just comes off as silly, though I guess that's what it's supposed to be /images/graemlins/sweat000.gif Samatarou himself I'm pretty neutral on at the moment. I can already tell that it won't be long before I'm lamenting his cluelessness regarding Tenko's feelings... whether or not I come to hate him for is undecided.
As for Tenko... wow she's cute. Really, really cute. Thankfully she doesn't quite seem to fall into that category of anime females that are just way too obsessed with the main guy, and have no problem demeaning themselves to serve them. She certainly does seem willing to put aside her own best interests in order to make him happy, but she doesn't seem dopey or shallow while doing so.
I wish the animation were a bit more detailed, but it works well enough. The OP is pretty fun and catchy too, and that, at least, is well animated. Anyway, like I said, Tenko is cute (especially when they slow down and put some more effort into the animation for "emotional" scenes) and that's the important thing.
It looks like I can watch up to 6 at the moment. I'm on 2 now, so we'll see how much more I feel like watching before I move onto the next show.
Edit: Oh btw, for some reason I really enjoy how they communicate with each other... interesting method.

Ok, now I'm impressed. Episodes 1-3 showed promise of a decently funny and cute romantic comedy. Good stuff, but nothing that I expected to blow me away at all. Nice fun fluff I can take or leave.
But I really, really enjoyed episode 4. I wasn't sure where the "I wanna be a human" thing was going to go. I expected many episodes of angst and me getting more and more pissed at Samatarou for throwing everything away for a girl he barely knew, and who was moving far away within a few days.
Instead, we got that wonderful scene in the shop and on the bike with Samatarou and Tenko, and then it ended with the kiss. So cute, so well done and such a great episode.
I can't believe I'm saying this, even if only half seriously, but I almost think that if it ended right there, where episode four came to a close, this would have made a great 4 episode OVA. Of course if it really were a 4 episode OVA, right now I'd be feeling dissatisfied and unhappy that there's no more. So, in the end, I'm glad that this is going to be... however many eps... ok, 13, it seems. (http://cal.syoboi.jp/tid/806/time) I think that ought to be a decent length for the show, although I have to wonder what the direction will be now. He just realized and showed his feelings for Tenko, so what's next? Another girl comes in and he falls in love with her again? Actually, I can only assume Kumiko will be back -- she's not in the OP so prominently for nothing.
But if he goes from kissing Tenko back to square one where it all began, that would absolutely kill the magic they created (literally and figuratively) in episode four. Well, I'm going to watch episode five now and find out. I hope episode four wasn't a fluke!
