<font color="green">Newletters / Coupons</font>
http://www.rightstuf.com/free/free.shtml

<font color="blue">(Q) Can I use my Got Anime membership discount with dvd preorders that are 25% off?</font>
(A) Yes, the Got Anime discount will "stack" with this price. You will get 10% off the 25% off preorder price, resulting in a 32.5% total discount.

<font color="blue">(Q) Can I use a coupon and my Got Anime membership discount on an order?</font>
(A) Yes, your Got Anime membership will "stack" with other coupons (see the above question for an example of how the discount will stack).

<font color="blue">(Q) Can I use my Got Anime membership discount on weekly / bargain bin specials?</font>
(A) No, your membership discount does not apply to these specials, which are already heavily discounted. It also does not apply to prepacks and import items, as well as some items which we are not allowed to discount. If an item is not discountable, it is noted as such.

<font color="blue">(Q) Why is my Got Anime discount not showing when I place an order on the web site?</font>
(A) The system currently provides this information on your confirmation e-mail. In the e-mail, there should be a line that says the following: "Thank you for being a Got Anime! Purchasing Club Member! On this order, you saved $X.XX." Your order status page should also include the Got Anime discount.

We are currently working on a better solution. However, your discount will be applied. If you have any problems with pricing, please contact info@rightstuf.com and they will be promptly addressed. As long as your membership is active, it is tied to your billing address. Please make sure you inform us to changes in your billing address, so that your discount can follow you (and also so your new releases newsletter keeps coming!)

<font color="blue">(Q) The e-mail confirmation does not list the 10% discount for my Got Anime membership. Instead it says, "There was no membership discount applied to this order." How can I get this corrected?</font>
(A) Contact customer service. CS can credit you the discount amount, however this can only be done before anything in the order ships or until it has been completely shipped.

<font color="blue">(Q) Will the 10% discount be applied if I buy the Got Anime membership when place my order?</font>
(A) Yes. Please purchase the membership and use "newmember" as the member number. Your confirmation e-mail should include a line that says the following: "Thank you for being a Got Anime! Purchasing Club Member! On this order, you saved $X.XX." You can continue to use "newmember" until you receive your membership card.

<font color="blue">(Q) I just bought a Got Anime membership. If I want to place another order using my Got Anime discount, what do I enter for my membership #?</font>
(A) Use "newmember." You can continue to use "newmember" until you receive your membership card.

<font color="blue">(Q) I lost my Got Anime card and don't remember my membership number, what should I do?</font>
(A) Using "newmember" is fine, but the real matching is done based on comparing billing addresses for the new order that you are placing, and the order in which the Got Anime membership was purchased. The number is just a backup in case someone notices a problem with the order.

<font color="blue">(Q ) If I move, how do I make sure the billing address associated with my Got Anime membership is updated?</font>
(A) The best thing to do is to update your address on the web site when you place your first order to the new location. In the special instructions, clearly indicate that this is a new address, and that your former account needs to be merged with this one (the system that actually fills the orders matches customers based on your address - so changing your address on the web site will create a new customer in its eyes, without a GA membership). Then, customer service will merge everything together and it should work painlessly in the future.

<font color="blue">(Q) How will I know my membership has expired?</font>
(A) You should recieve Got Anime newletters in the mail every month or so. The expiration date of your membership is printed on the front. If you haven't recieved any newsletters, you can always contact customer service.

<font color="blue">(Q) Does TRSI ship items as they come in stock, or hold a shipment until all items are available?</font>
(A) For US customers, we make an initial shipment of any items that are in stock when the order is placed. For international orders, we ship when all items are available.

This is our current policy for when we will make automatic partial shipments for orders that you have with our company. From time to time we do revise this depending upon the season (during Christmas we'll release orders a lot more frequently, for example) and other circumstances. Right now, we only make partial shipments for orders being shipped to a US address - international shipping costs prohibit us from doing it elsewhere.

If you have an order that you would like to request a partial shipment for, you may contact our customer service department, and for a small fee, we will release your order. Otherwise, your order will be subject to the following conditions, assuming that product is available:
<ul type="square">
<font color="green"> We will make a partial shipment if 50% of the unshipped products are available.
We will make a partial shipment if there have been no shipments made on the order within the last 45 days. This helps make sure that you'll receive preorders in a timely manner if they are several of them on the same order.
If $100 dollars of an order is in stock and available, those items will be shipped.</font>
TRSI will also try to combine multiple partial shipments for different orders into one shipment. Here are some additional notes about partial shipments:
<ul type="square">
<font color="green"> If you have a lot of open orders with us, we are going to hit your card one time for each order that we're ready to ship. The example given above would result in 9 different credit card changes on one day. This might freak out a few card companies or even our customers.
These partial shipments will cost you nothing extra - they are done at our expense. We have had people ask us to refund their shipping charges when we choose to combine their orders into one box, we will not be doing that. What we're saving by combining orders is allowing us to make these partial shipments, and hopefully giving you better service.
There is currently no way to opt out of partial shipments, or having your shipments combined.</font>
<font color="blue">(Q) Does TRSI charge extra for multiple shipments for an order?</font>
(A) If you do not ask a CSR to partial ship an order, then no. The shipping cost quoted in your order confirmation is what you pay in the end. That amount is prorated for each shipment based upon the cost of the shipped items. If you specifically request a partial shipment on an order, then there will extra charges.

<font color="blue">(Q) How does free shipping work?</font>
(A) Only US customers are elgible for free shipping. If the total cost of shopping cart is $49 or more (before coupons), then your order is elgible for free Economy Shipping. All items on the order count towards the $49 required in order to receive free shipping. The $49 is the pre-coupon total - if you apply a coupon that takes the total for the items on your order below $49, you will still receive free shipping.

<font color="blue">(Q) Why is RightStuf's international shipping so expensive?</font>
(A) The shipping method recently changed from Deutsch Post to Fed Ex Mail International.

<font color="blue">(Q) Why does RightStuf not provide an alternative cheaper shipping option for international customers?</font>
**This question is as yet unanswered, if you know the reason for this please post it here.

<font color="blue">(Q) What does the it mean when an item in my order is listed as "Reserved For Your Order"?</font>
(A) This means the item is in stock and set aside to be shipped to you. TRSI may still hold your order until several items are available to ship all at once, but during that time, they will have all those items specifically set aside for you. There is, however, an extremely small chance that if TRSI may have a problem with inventory you may not get your product, but those occurrences should be extremely rare.

<font color="blue">(Q) What do all these status phrases mean?</font>
(A) For each shipment that is listed on an order on our web site, you will see one of the following statuses:

<font color="green">Not Yet Shipped</font> - one or more items is on order from manufacturer
<font color="green">Shipped</font> - the items on are on their way to you
<font color="green">Processing</font> - the order is being reviewed, or the order has entered the shipping process (card authorized, product being packed in the warehouse).
<font color="green">Cancelled</font> - the order has been cancelled
<font color="green">Please contact Customer Service for status update</font> - contact us at info@rightstuf.com, 1.800.338.6827 or 1.515.252.6116

For each item that is in a shipment, you'll see one of the following statuses (these are the most common):

<font color="green">Reserved For Your Order</font> - the item you ordered is in the warehouse, and set aside for your order. Unless there is a serious error, you should receive it from us.
<font color="green">Processing</font> - part of an order that has entered the shipping process
<font color="green">Shipped</font> - item should be on its way to you
<font color="green">On Order From Manufacturer</font> - backordered, and we're working on getting it for you
<font color="green">"Cancelled by manufacturer or per your request" or "Cancelled"</font> - for some reason, this item was removed from your order
<font color="green">Order has been received</font> - part of a new order with us, that is in the process of being reviewed
<font color="green">Gift product</font> - something you're getting for free from us (possibly a catalog, flyers, etc.)
<font color="green">"Authorized for Return," "Partial Exchange" or "Item exchanged"</font> - if you have requested an RA # for this item
<font color="green">Item Returned</font> - we have received the item you requested an RA # for
<font color="green">Refused shipment</font> - the package was refused when delivery was attempted
<font color="green">Item Undeliverable</font> - there was a problem delivering the package

<font color="blue">(Q) Can I use a coupon more than once?</font>
(A) This depends upon the terms of the coupon.

<font color="blue">(Q) Can I use more than one coupon on an order?</font>
(A) No, only one coupon can be applied to each order.

<font color="blue">(Q) When do coupons expire? I tried to use a coupon before the deadline, but I wasn't able to.</font>
(A) Coupons run on Central Time and expire at 11:59 PM on the expiration day. So if you live on the West Coast (Pacific time) and wait till the last minute to use a coupon, the coupon has already expired.

<font color="blue">(Q) I tried using a X percent off coupon, but the actual discount is slightly smaller (i.e. 33% coupon seems to only discount 32%). What's going on?</font>
(A) Percentage off coupons take a percentage of a percentage (% off of the discounted price we normally sell at). For example, a 33% off coupon takes 24% off the already 10% off price (about 33% off the retail price).

<font color="blue">(Q) I tried to use a $X off $Y coupon, but got the following message even though the total cost was over $Y: "This coupon cannot be used on this order: this coupon has dollar amount or item quantity restrictions that have not been met."</font>
(A) Specials and heavily discounted items do not count toward coupon total requirements.

<font color="blue">(Q) I have a few orders that I used coupons on. Can I combine these orders together?</font>
(A) Coupon orders may be combined with other orders which have coupons on them, as long as no changes are made to pricing as a result. For example, order A has one coupon for $5 off, and order B has one coupon for $3 off. You would combine the orders together, at the prices from the original two orders, which gives $8 off. New coupons cannot be applied to combined orders. Items on orders where coupons have been combined MAY NOT BE CANCELLED except in FULL, as cancelling items from the orders will cause possible changes in coupon requirements. Shipping should be calculated as normal given the number of items on the order (for free shipping calculations). If you cancel an order which had a coupon on it, we cannot reinstate the order with the coupon on it later. You cannot use previously ordered items on a past order in order to qualify to use a coupon.

<font color="blue">(Q) How come ***** anime dvd is only 10% off instead of 25%, yet it's not out for another week? **</font>
(A) Special preorder pricing is extended so that we can take advantage of purchasing prior to our shipment date with the manufacturer. The price reverts to the normal price 10 days before the "street" date for the title. Titles from bigger companies such as Disney/Beuna Vista and Columbia/Tristar also cost more for TRSI.

<font color="blue">(Q) Will I receive an e-mail confirmation for an order I just placed on the web site?</font>
(A) Yes.

<font color="blue">(Q) Can I use a different shipping address than the one I used for billing?</font>
(A) No. Even though you can specify different addresses on their web site, TRSI will contact you if you do so. TRSI's policy is to ship to the billing address. This is a policy they enforce in order to reduce credit card fraud. If you want TRSI to ship your order to an address besides the one associated with your credit card, then try contacting your bank / card company and request them to add another address to your account. This will allow you to use the same address for shipping and billing with TRSI.

<font color="blue">(Q) When will ***** anime dvd be up for preorder (it was just announced)?</font>
(A) As soon as TRSI obtains the SKU # for the dvd, it will be added to the product list.

<font color="blue">(Q) Usually the order status page is updated daily at around 7:20 PM - 7:25 PM Central time. However, it hasn't been updated today yet. What happened?!</font>
(A) The order status page isn't always updated at the same time due to system load, maintainence and/or upgrades. The web site is also not updated when inventory is done every few months.

<font color="blue">(Q) How can I tell if a Daily Deal is eligible for the Got Anime Discount?</font>
(A) On the page where you view a deal, an item is eligible if the following text is displayed under the Daily Deal price:

"If you're a Got Anime! member, your memebership discount will stack on top of the Daily Deal Discount price for an additional 10% off the Daily Deal Price!"

When you check out, the Daily Deal item has a red asterick (*) next to it even though it's still eligible for the GA discount. When you receive your e-mail order confirmation, the Got Anime saved amount should include the discount on the Daily Deal.

I'm looking at the Funimation sale items(perhaps this is the wrong thread?) and I have a few questions regarding the two Kodocha box sets that are listed there.

The box+vol.1 - That picture, I take it that the box is supposed to hold ALL of the singles? All 26 or so of them? Can someone give me an idea of how sturdy that box is? If that is intended to hold all those then that has to be the biggest single anime box I've ever seen, I would be worried about sturdiness.

I see the other box with vol.7+8 included, but I don't see other boxes with vol.1+2, 3+4; were they LE or are they just out of stock? Were they intended to to fit in the larger box I mentioned above, or are these an alternative to that one?

Boxes are not my main concern, I just like to get them if they are decently sturdy as it helps keep things organized and they look nice. I just want to be clear on what the options are here. Hopefully someone can answer these before the sale ends. /images/graemlins/sweat000.gif

Any help with this would be much appreciated!

That would make the most sense, because the prices are exactly the same. They could be tossing in vol.8 with the second box as a marketing experiment. I'm still not sure though; if you look at the two pictures they look nothing alike. I knowit is a different angle and all, but that first box just looks really long to me. The proportions seems totally different.

The first box is like the one they put out for Fruits Basket... I can't really describe it. The second box does look different... not sure what the deal is with that one.

first DBZ Volume 10 was removed from the site and a complete box was revealed, now YuGiOh DVD 35 (i'm guessing was to be Season 4.3) has been removed from the site.

That was under my preorders from the FUNimation sale as well, any reason why this was removed and will this also be seeing a DBZ Vegeta Saga type release now?

It is 100% certain that box one holds Vol. 1-6. They may have updated the info on box two - it holds Vol. 7-13 and comes with Vol. 8 and a LE Babbit plushie. Can't wait.

(I'd also bet that box 1 will still come with a small LE Mythwear Babbit bag. Not everyone was thrilled, but I loved it. It made the best "passport bag" ever. Went through Wales and London with me last year and held everything I wanted as I ran around.)

Edit: I'd describe the box as sort of like a cigar box, but with sides. The Large picture is the "lid" of the box that lifts up along with three sides that cover the base of the box when closed. The disks lie stacked flat inside when it is in "cigar-box" position, or stand up as in a regular box if you want to display it as normal with the "Kodocha" spine outward on the shelf.

Hey Shawne I just like to point out a misprice.

In your bargain bin you have Dangaizer 3 vol.1 (http://www.rightstuf.com/1-800-338-6827/catalogmgr/9PrC9GJktOg5UpIFyk/browse/item/58112/4/0/-2334) and Dangaizer 3 vol. 2 (http://www.rightstuf.com/1-800-338-6827/catalogmgr/9PrC9GJktOg5UpIFyk/browse/item/58111/4/0/-2334) for $4.99 each. However, under the movie pack section you have the bundle (http://www.rightstuf.com/1-800-338-6827/catalogmgr/9PrC9GJktOg5UpIFyk/browse/item/61755/4/618/0) for $49.90. I don't know about you, but that's some mark up. /images/graemlins/sweat000.gif

I'm sure that 1) it's been asked before and 2) if it exists, I would have heard about it, but does TRSI have an RSS feed for their new item listings? It'd be nice to keep up on everything that gets listed on the site during the course of this Funi sale so I can see if there's anything newly listed that I can add besides what's already there: Basilisk 1-2 and Tsukuyomi Moon Phase 1.

While this is probably out of Rightstuf's control, I had a question. When my Kamichu vol. 1 with box shipped out with UPS, it had a scheduled delivery date of tomorrow, the 31st of May. Now I look at it this morning and notice that it has been pushed back a day to the 1st of June. Now this isn't a huge setback, as it's only one more day that I have to wait.

But this is the first time that UPS has pushed a shipment back on me. Does this commonly happen, and if it does, what are some reasons for it?

I don't know the reasons, but one time a package of mine received a similar fate. Thing is, I called them up directly and inquired about the mix-up. I'm not sure where I saw it, but I'm pretty sure their excuse was me having an invalid street address... Which was absolutely wrong. I figured it was just a new driver that didn't know where the hell he was going, but yeah... I got all up in arms, but the package arrived a day or two later than estimated. I have no idea if that would apply to your shipment, but hopefully not. Delayed shipments are never good. Best of luck with it.

UPS has been doing strange things lately. I just recently had a shipment from a clothes company. My items shipped on the 15th and went out for delivery on the 19th. So I'm waiting for them to arrive but they never do. Well I go back online and it shows that two hours after it had supposedly went out for delivery they decided to do a routine customs check??? and they held my package until the 22nd. I really wasn't aware that they did customs checks on packages sent from one state to another, especially when they come from reputable US companies.

Lately I have all my Right Stuf purchases sent USPS Priority. It costs the same as UPS and I get my items a day quicker.

Hmm, interesting. I have no real problem with waiting one day longer for my package. I mean I waited for it to come out, what is another day. If it was a DVD or two, I wouldn't mind. But the package contains my Kamichu art box, and I really don't want it being kicked around the UPS depot heh. I mean DVD cases can be replaced, but a art box is something you want in prestine condition.

It's happened to me a few times. Most of the time no reason was given for the delay, but I do remember one occasion were one was listed. The reason was a train derailment. The package (from TRSI) arrived about three days later than the original delivery date and thankfully nothing was damaged.

Lego

I can picture it now heh. My package causes a train derailment, the truck carrying it to over turn, it causes a nuclear holocaust, it's a evil package. It must be UPS's system, as now it says:

Note: Your package is in the UPS system and is on time with a scheduled delivery date of 05/31/2006.

[/ QUOTE ]The old number will be fine. The order with the renewal on it will receive a discount even if you use the old number (the presence of the renewal triggers the discount).

I will caution you on something though - if you plan to order anything that may take a while to ship (preorders, backordered items, etc.), then you really should put the renewal on an order by itself. Then, once the renewal ships, place the order for everything else. That's the safest way to make sure you'll get discounts without any hassle.

Tenchi Universe Boxset $49.99 as well.

Those are rather steep discounts /images/graemlins/shy10000.gif I would have jumped in on the deal if not already have the Gungrave set.

How's Tenchi Universe? Is it the individual DVDs in a box or some kind of digipaks?

Here are pics of the Alucard (http://www.teknodrome.com/Copertine/Modellismo/Hellsing/Arucard%20AF.jpg), Seras (http://www.teknodrome.com/Copertine/Modellismo/Hellsing/Victoria%20AF.jpg), and the packaging (http://www.amazingcomics.com/istarimages/mp/TOYCOHELLSINGS1!TOYCO-2628025.jpg).

The action figures weren't just exclusives with the DVDs. They were also sold separately at major retailers. They were released by Toycom, now known as Yamato USA. There was also a second series with Anderson and Alucard wearing his hat and glasses.

Hi. I'm assuming that I'm just really unlucky here.. I ordered the 2nd boxset of Utena during the CPM studio sale and the first one arrived last month.. I've very picky about box condition and noticed one of the corners was damaged. I promptly sent it back and got the replacement with perfect corners. But it wasn't until I opened it I noticed a knife slice along the spine.. I emailed CS to see if something can be done, but I'm pretty sure I know the answer since it was my fault for not fully inspecting the box before opening it..

With last week's special, I ordered all 3 Patlabor boxes from CPM. I'm thinking about the "Patlabor Mobile Police: New Files DVD Collection" that was listed this week. Just wondering if the Patlabor sets has similar outter box like Utena?

In general, have anyone has issues wiht CPM boxes ordering online?
Thanks

This has been bothering me for a little bit now everytime I buy something with a counter and look on the order status page it says "On Order from Manufactuer" even when it shows as in at the time and over an hour after I bought it. From the few times I've brought this up, the only answer is - it's a "feature" of the software that is used.

Essentially, the only way to definitively confirm whether or not a copy was allocated is to contact customer service.

Especially when we were told, at the time, "Just wait a few more weeks, we're working on something you'll like" or however they phrased it =P

That's ok though, I already bought most of those titles (and then some) elsewhere in the meantime. I'd still like to hit up TRSI for preorders, but if they don't have another sale, I'll just wait until they're released and in stock elsewhere ::shrugs::

I just got my AmEx Blue bill today and underneath the usual TRSI Anime line, instead of the usual description of the first item listed in the shipment is just says "Telecommunications Services".

Is this an AmEx problem or TRSI? Has anybody had this happen to their May AmEx bill?

It just gets a wee bit confusing trying to match the numerous orders via just the dollar amount.

Received my Gungrave set today. The mousepad is cool and an unexpected bonus. One minor "problem" though: when I got the set I could hear rattling so I opened it up. The first disk was floating in its container (not that rare, so didn't bother me), but then I realized that the first disk was missing the white security tag that the other disks have, so my first thought was that it had been opened at some point. The set itself, though, was still shrink wrapped, so I'm curious about what might have happened.

The disk looks fine and I'll test it tonight to be sure. Long as it plays okay, I'm not worried about returning or anything, mostly just wondering.

If it's anything like some of the other Geneon box sets I've purchased (Paranoia Agent, Haibane Renmei), it's probably just a v1+box release stuffed with retail copies of the other volumes. Since a box is usually scanned on the bottom, there won't be a tag in the disc case.

Actually the bottom of the box says complete collection. This 7-disc release with box actually came out the same day as volume 7 single release did. I got mine yesterday and all is good with mine. First thing I did though was look at the bottom and sure enough it had complete collection on the box. I will probably marathon it over the weekend. It was too hard to resist the $50 price point. Not to mention each DVD case had the mini poster's in each case, so everything the originals had are in here. Good deal all around.

Complete Collection, box set... same thing, really.

The real point is that it seems like Geneon simply put the other six volumes in a v1+box release and repackaged it, which is why there's no tag in the first case. How else can I explain having to remove the shrinkwrap on volumes 2-7?

The most likely is that you have items from the weekly (or daily) specials in the total. Only items that are otherwise not discounted count towards the $85 total. Thus if you had the Gungrave set in that total (at ~$50), you would need another $48 of (undiscounted)goods to make the coupon apply. However, the coupon does apply to pre-orders.

All items with limited quantities that have a counter end up saying "On Order from Manufacturer". It's a quirk of the system, apparently. As long as it said it was in stock when you ordered it, you should be safe.

I ordered Yu Yu Hakusho 8 (http://www.rightstuf.com/aod/fun06233) during the recent Funimation sale and it's now backordered. No surprise or problem there, I'm happy to wait for it.

My concern is that I haven't been able to find this volume (or many other of the singles) listed at other major etailers and I'm wondering if it's silently going out of print. This is the last volume I need to catch up with the 14-ep sets that Funi has recently started releasing. If I can't get it at TRSI, I may be SOL.

Shawne, if you could confirm the status of this item I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

It's not going out of print, it's just that the box sets are selling more. Which of course, means that the major etailers are going to carry the box sets only.

I'm having order troubles. I ordered Peacemaker vol.'s 4-7 from the Bargain Bin on the 8th. After placing the order, I emailed CS and had the order combined with one of my Funi sale orders. Then last Friday, I got a "We're working on it" e-mail for the order and the only two items mentioned in the e-mail are the two items from the Funi sale (Fullmetal Alchemist - Vol. 13 and the Movie LE). So, I assumed that the Peacemaker DVDs had shipped. Then, on that night's update, the DVD's didn't show up as having been shipped or having entered processing. I decided to wait a few days to see if they shiped or showed up as processing during Monday's update. After Monday nights site update the DVDs still hadn't shipped or entered processing. I decided to e-mail CS about the order and when the Peacemaker DVDs would be shipping (I sent the e-mail yesterday). I got a response today and was told that unless I paid a three dollar partial shipment fee, the DVDs would not be shipping until the other items in the order came in, which for me, would mean no Peacemaker until late August/September. Considing that since I placed and combined this order, I've had other orders have items come in and ship out, including orders where the shipment was the very first one, having to pay for a partial shipment on an order that hasn't had any shipments yet seems odd. So, I'm wondering if it's going to be possible to get these DVDs shipped without having to pay for it or if the partial/intial shipment rules are different for combined orders.

First question....what shipping method did you select?

If you selected UPS, then there will not be any complimentary partial shipments.

However, if you selected USPS and a number of items are listed as being "reserved", then I would check tonight after the nightly update. /images/graemlins/wink.gif

If nothing happens by tomorrow, then there would seem to be a problem. /images/graemlins/sweat200.gif

To keep track of my pre orders, I like to order things as they come up. So when Kamichu Vol. 3 was listed, I pre ordered it. After ordering from Rightstuf for a while, I know that it takes a little for the email to come, and for the order to be added to your page. But I checked a few minutes ago, and I noticed that the email confirming my order hasn't been sent. I usually get those a hour or two after I complete my order.

Is it a case of me just having to wait a little longer, or is something wrong? The only reason I ask is that I want to make sure the order went through.

This is a somewhat ironic turn of events.....given my "history" with receiving e-mails from TRSI. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

Earlier today, I placed a new order......and my order confirmation e-mail for it apparently wasn't delayed at all.

If I go by the time/date stamp above the order # on the e-mail......the order was received at 13:54:11 (Central time?).

I received the e-mail order confirmation around 3:00PM Eastern.

[/ QUOTE ]When we have glitches like this one, it doesn't effect all orders. Just those from customers that happen to order the effected items. In this case, there were only a half dozen or so orders held up.

We have two separate systems, one for the web site, and the one that actually gets the orders out the door. When the items on those two things get out of sync, this can happen. It isn't often, but it does happen on occassion. /images/graemlins/sad.gif Shawne dropped me email earlier this afternoon mentioning he fixed it. Possibly. I dont recall if there is usually a sale after AX. This is the traditional "Boss is away" AX clearance sale though. I did find it odd it doesnt cover all of AX weekend, but it does end on the normal TRSI sale end date of Sunday. And they have extended these things before once or twice if I recall right.

As for hundle, its possible (who knows how likely) that the hurdle itself was the prepwork they're doing for AX so we'll see the next studio sale after they get back from AX.

All I know is my Naruto box shipped yesterday along with Gravion Zwei and Divengent Eve. I'll be spending a nice, long, and happy 4th marathoning anime.

On the other hand, they do have about a half dozen volumes of Del Rey manga sitting around that they haven't shipped to me in a month. I hope they'll go out this week along with another couple that were to be released today. I'm just too cheap to pay five bucks and request a shipment. /images/graemlins/shy10000.gif

You paid for priority for bargin bin items? Wow. While I'm an advocate of Priority Mail and paying for it, I cant justify over 10% of the cost just to shipping. So I usually dont use Priority Mail for bargin bin items. Which means free media mail for those. Which, since I'm here in the end of nowhere means I should have it by next Monday.

Naruto, on the other hand, should be here tomorrow since that was a studio sale and I pay Priority Mail for those things. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

As for the manga, just drop CS a line and ask them if the shippment qualifies for a PSR yet. Make sure to remind them your not requesting shippment if it doesnt, but sometimes the system takes a bit to get around to them. Plus, they often only ship out PSR's once a week. Usually on Thursday or Fridays if I recall right.

railohio

No, I chose the free shipping option for everything. I guess I was just one of the first people to order on Thursday evening so it went out on Friday while the rest of the backlog had to wait until Monday. If I'm too cheap to pay extra for shipping on items that've been setting for a month in their warehouse I surely can wait two extra days to get any shipment. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

Don't know where else to put this, but it's more a rant anyways. I just checked my tracking number for a package recently sent via MediaMail. All of the other times it's went from Des Moines, IA to Cincinnati, OH and then finally to my hometown in WV. What's weird this time, however, is the fact that it was checked in last night in Denver, CO. That's going towards the West Coast, and I don't see why a package would skip back that ways when it is heading to where I'm at. Oh well. You guys can't help it, but it's still confusing. Doesn't really matter as long as it gets here unscatched. /images/graemlins/shy00000.gif

Don't worry, USPS did the same thing to me a week ago. It was checked in at the Forest Hills location outside Chicago, IL on the 18th. This means I get my package the following delivery day. It didn't show up at my door on the 19th like it should have so I check the tracking on USPS. Turns out someone decided to ship it down to St Louise, MO rather than to my area. It spent nearly an extra week in the mail because of it.

Just be thankful it was packaged by Right Stuf. Their boxes have suffered a number of beatings and I still got the merchandise in perfect condition. /images/graemlins/catgirl0.gif

I was bored, so I figure I should post a follow-up on what I said earlier about my package. Seems it was checked into the Cincinnati hub at around 6 a.m. this morning, so I should have it in my possession by Monday. I could get it tomorrow by some off chance, but I doubt it. This kinda sucks since I've never had any delays in the Media Mail offered by RightStuf, but crap happens and I was lucky to be getting a three day turn around in the first place. Waiting a few more days for Naruto isn't going to kill me... Or is it? /images/graemlins/knowital.gif

Does Rightstuf pay for return shipping? I ordered the Lain boxset recently, and it came in the mail today. Unfortunately, after I opened the shrinkwrap and removed the blue slip case, I noticed that I had two copies of volume 4 and no volume 2. Since I never made returns to TRSI before, I'm not sure how the shipping works. Do I get a prepaid shipping label from TRSI, or do I have to pay for shipping and then get reimbursed? Also, how do I ship the DVDs back? The box that came with the DVDs is a bit big just for the DVDs, since I had some manga with that order.

Unfortunately, RightStuf doesn't reimburse for return shipping costs. It sucks, yeah, but it's likely you can send the package back to them for $5 or less. You'll have to e-mail info@rightstuf.com to get a RMA #. Fill out the packing slip on the reverse of your invoice, tape it on the box, and you'll be good to go. If the box is too big, find some loose paper (printer or packing) and make sure it's a snug fit. There's really no guidelines on how to pack returns, but I'm sure they appreciate your efforts to keep it from receiving damage on the trip back.

Hope that helps. If you need to know anything else, don't hesitate to ask. /images/graemlins/happy.gif

EDIT: Actually, since your case seems to be about receiving a wrong disc in a set, you could try contacting Shawne directly at ShawneK@rightstuf.com and explain your situation. You may not incur any additional charges for the shipping if that's the case, but I can't guarantee anything. Best of luck with it.

Thanks for the info. I always thought you never had to pay for return shipping unless you were returning an item that you changed your mind about or if it was damaged through shipping (since the return wasn't their fault). Since the item they sold inately did not meet quality standards, I would think TRSI would be covering the return shipping. At least, that is how all the other on-line shops I use operate.

I think that's correct. I believe Shawne himself has said on these forums that TRSI pays shipping if it's their fault. This isn't "their fault" per se as they didn't package the discs in the set, but at the very least it isn't "your fault". The item is just defective. I assume they'll pay for it.

Well, here's a final update on that shipment of mine:

I decided I would wake up this morning at 10:20 a.m. to check the delivery confirmation # to see if the package had arrived to my local post office. It didn't update, so I assumed it wasn't there yet. Went back to sleep. I woke up later and checked again, but then it said a notice had been left at 9:34 a.m. This really sucks for me, because now I have to wait until Monday just to get my package. Sometimes I hate dealing with post offices. What's the deal with them only staying open until 11:00 a.m. on Saturdays anyways? I know it's a government job, but still. It's very annoying, not to mention inconvenient.

*sigh*

I have another question. Since it was the weekend when I asked for a return, I haven't gotten a RA number yet and I haven't been able to ask CS about the return shipping cost question. However, I noticed that the Lain set has been sold out now. I kind of remember, in the past, that TRSI keeps a few extra copies in case for returns, but I'm not absolutely sure if that's true. So, will I be able to get a replacement for my "flawed" set?

I'm a very picky collector and have a quality check on my TRSI account. When I get boxsets in imperfect condition, I've had to pay shipping back. I'm kinda disappointed because I assume they should be able to full check for any damage before shipping, but I know that I'm an overly anal collector.

Is TRSI closed this Monday? I wanted to check into an order that also included the Lain boxset.
Thanks

That has not been my experience with TRSI. Two times I have received defective manga from TRSI, and both times I had to pay out of pocket to exchange them. The shipping fees were never reimbursed, even after multiple requests, and even when the replacement item sent was also defective. This is the one aspect of shopping with TRSI that really bothers me, because it does not seem reasonable to expect the customer to pay extra just to receive a usable product.

Well, I'm very happy this finally got licensed and would really want to be in the 600, but I'm wondering, how long does it usually take for so many orders to fill up and any possible indication or estimate of how many so far?

I'm a little frantic now as I don't have a credit card, thus any order would have to involve a deal with my parents which could take a little while.

I'm just curious, if TRSI is still waiting for some of the copies to arrive or is there something wrong with my order?

BTW, I have other items in the order, so it just might be waiting to hit the partial shipment standards.

Check out #4 on the first post FAQ:

(Q) Why is my Got Anime discount not showing when I place an order on the web site?
(A) The system currently provides this information on your confirmation e-mail. In the e-mail, there should be a line that says the following: "Thank you for being a Got Anime! Purchasing Club Member! On this order, you saved $X.XX." Your order status page should also include the Got Anime discount.

Or #5:

(Q) The e-mail confirmation does not list the 10% discount for my Got Anime membership. Instead it says, "There was no membership discount applied to this order." How can I get this corrected?
(A) Contact customer service. CS can credit you the discount amount, however this can only be done before anything in the order ships or until it has been completely shipped.

You mean you didn't see it at checkout, or you didn't see it in your order confirmation email, at the bottom where it says "On this order you saved $x.xx with Got Anime" (or something along those lines)? If it's the former, check for the latter. If it's the latter, then yes, it's happened to me once or twice but CS fixed it within a day.

The discount is only shown in the e-mail confirmation. You should see a line stating "Thank you for being a Got Anime member. On this order you saved $xx.xx."

How long have you had Got Anime? If it hasn't shipped yet (your card isn't in the mail), then you should probably e-mail CS and have them apply the discount manually.

Yeah, the system is really picky about having matching billing/shipping addresses between the Got Anime side and the website side. Missing periods in my P.O. box on the Got Anime side kept causing my discount to not apply and it took a few months before CS figured it out (actually, I think Rich finally figured it out after my plea on here, since none of the normal CS people could find a problem -- although they tried).

The other possible reasons is that a) it's expired or b) it hasn't 'shipped' yet in the system.

That's the problem right there. The GA is compared with your billing address. You need to contact CS and tell them to change the GA address, so it matches with the new billing address.

Which e-mail address should be used to contact Shawne? I sent an e-mail regarding an order per his instructions to his darklord@rightstuf.com address on Monday (and again yesterday), but have yet to receive a reply. Since TRSI usually responds quite promptly, I'm wondering if I am using the right e-mail address. Or is Shawne still backed-up on e-mails from going away to Anime Expo? Or does his e-mail filter out e-mails from Yahoo accounts?

Two questions:
1) Does or will TRSI ever have a special 40 (or at least 33 or something)% off sale for their own goods? I'd love to pick up stuff like Piano.
2) Does or will TRSI ever have a 40 or 33% sale for Great Eastern?

1.) Yes, they have! They had one late last year. Most of the time though, Right Stuf has their titles in the Weekly Specials.

2.) Yep! They had a three day sale a couple months ago.

I'm curious as to why my copy got placed on the 'Reserve for your Order' hold, since their's nothing on backorder, the last thing to ship on that order was on April 13 so it's been well more than 45 days, and the next nearest thing on pre-order on the order isn't until August 1st(that if there isn't a last minute delay). If it was anything else except MI I would be content to sit and wait, but I need my MI!! *wipes the foam from mouth*

Do I need to call and have this thing forced shipped to me here? Because I can't wait anymore... /images/graemlins/cry00000.gif

I experienced that with Wild Arms vol 4-5 and Edens Bowy vol 2-6. I ordered em with GALS! S2 box. I ended up calling about it twice. Though, it lists as one of each as "processing" in their wherehouse database, so the person I talked to assumed those are mine. Hopefully those (And the Macross and MegaZone23 vol 1 w/box versions I also ordered) will ship soon.

I think they process partial shipping on Thursdays so you may need to wait until then. You can ask them to have it shipped right away for an additional fee too.

One of the features I've come to rely on for managing my TRSI orders is the This item appears on the following order: warning for products that appear in previous orders. Many times it has saved me from making duplicate purchases and having to go through the return process. It doesn't work in every case, however. Take, for example, the new release (http://www.rightstuf.com/1-800-338-6827/catalogmgr/hPaHIQEneag5qwYlhv/browse/item/70916/4/0/0) of Can Can Bunny, Lucky 7. Because this is a rerelease, it has new product ID and doesn't trigger the This item appears... warning.

It's been over three years since I ordered the older version (http://www.rightstuf.com/1-800-338-6827/catalogmgr/hPaHIQEneag5qwYlhv/browse/item/58993/4/0/0) of this title, and it's not always easy to remember what I bought so long ago. Is it possible to add a log feature so that users can make personalized views of product pages? It would be useful for marking items ordered from other sources /images/graemlins/shy00000.gif as well.

Shawne any chance you have or could talk to Funimation about getting a Samuarai 7 box only put out for sale. I have ordered all 7 limited editions but also wanted to get the box. I know you've done this in the past and it may not have gone well but maybe you could take preorders and then only get that stock so you wouldn't have extras.

I know Funimation has done this in the past with Blue Gender.

Thanks

I think I've mentioned this before, but what would be really handy is a way to integrate this data with the display of the weekly specials list. I scan through the list every week, but somewhat half-heartedly because so much of what's on there is merchandise I already own or am not interested in. I'd pay closer attention if I knew non-relevant items had already been filtered out. /images/graemlins/happy.gif

Rich,

While you're at it, it would be so nice if you'd please consider adding a "Publisher" column to the "Saved Items (to buy later)" list in the Shopping Cart.

It would help very much with studio sales. I a lot of things are sitting there in mine waiting for one, but I'm always confused as to which of them are/might be legitimate for a particular studio sale. /images/graemlins/stunned1.gif

I have a question about order status and customer service, hopefully someone can guide me?

I e-mailed customer service to release an item from a combined order of mine; I get a reply back saying it's no problem and it should be shipping out tomorrow plus whatever charges applied to my credit card. However, I check the website the next day and my item is still marked as "Reserved for your order" and my credit card has yet to be charged. I e-mailed them again to make sure that my item has shipped, and CS tells me it has already been shipped and my credit card has already been charged. But the order is still marked as "reserved" on the website and my credit card shows no transactions.

Did they get the wrong guy? How long would it take for the transaction to show up on my credit card? (I check online). And without an official shipping notice from Rightstuf, I'm a little skeptical if my item shipped at all. If there's no change on my order status and my credit card hasn't been charged tomorrow, should I just wait a few more days or should I contact them again?

Wait until tonight's update. The order status page sometimes takes a second day to update with the latest info. It happen with a couple of my items. Plus, when Right Stuf charges your credit card, they do a tempary charge. In other words, they just reserve the cash, until the item leaves the warehouse. Some credit card companies won't count it as a transation, until Right Stuf pulls the money out.

In general there are two dates against each transaction on your credit card (CC):

Post Date - The date when the CC company received the invoice from the vender.
Transaction Date - The date when your CC was actually charged.

Usually "Transaction Date" is two to four days earlier than the "Post Date".

My bank, for example, won't show any transaction against my CC before it receives the invoice -- in other words, on the day of the "Post Date".

I'm really not sure how unified this procedure is, but if your bank follows the same thing, then it's only few days away for you to see this operation's transaction on your CC.

So, Rich, Shawne. Is it possible that the system went down around 4/26-ish and one of my Del Rey sale orders died on the way to your bottom line?

I ask because, much to my chagrin, I seem to be missing my July Del Rey order - which I'm pretty sure I recall ordering. I have orders in the system for titles already released, May, June, ... , August, Sept/Oct, Oct/Nov but no July.

I recall ordering Genshiken 6, Guru Guru Pon-Chan 5, Nodame Cantabile 6, Q-Ko-Chan 1, Sugar Sugar Rune 3 and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle 10 in that order. This is supported by the fact that I have the previous and subsequent versions of every one of these titles in previous / subsequent Del Rey orders. (Well, I don't have Q-Ko-Chan 0 since there isn't one, but you get the picture.)

So, help? I really don't want to have to buy those titles at bookstore prices. /images/graemlins/cry00000.gif And I really remember ordering them. /images/graemlins/catgirl0.gif Where, oh where have they gone? /images/graemlins/stunned0.gif

I was just curious if we can/have to request those nifty carboard inserts with shipments now. The ones that give you the little buffer from the outside of the box and hold all of the items in the center? It seemed for a while that those were standard issue however the last few shipments I've gotten (even with artboxes/tins in them) haven't had it. Nothing has been damaged regardless, so it hasn't been an issue. But I was mostly just wondering about it.

I've read here about posters requesting that their TRSI orders be combined. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this? (I have about half a dozen active orders of various sizes with TRSI.)

DanielJr
07-16-2006, 01:02 AM
Advantages is that you will probably save on shipping. On the other hand, any in-stock items will be held until the rest of your order is fulfilled. Sometimes they partial ship at their own judgement (usually items that have been on hold for more than 2 weeks), but that means that if you're eager to see a certain title you ordered, it won't be shipped for a while. Another con is that you will lose allocation on pre-order items since they need to cancel your order and re-establish it to combine it with previous ones.

I made the mistake of combining my MIBox#8 order (which I pre-ordered in March) with my Planetes manga order. I've been waiting 3 months for those damn manga books to arrive, I did it because I thought they would be in-stock by now. Luckily I got TRSI to partial ship my Maison Ikkoku for an extra fee ($4). Now those manga books are holding up my Samurai 7 box, but I'm in no hurry to see that one.

Personal tip? Don't combine orders.

Whenever my order ships in 6/10/15 DVD pack box, or the big 11¼ X 8¾ X 12 box, it always comes with the appropriate pack sleeve(s) without having to ask for it.

But when the package is anything different than those boxes, like for large art books, or a couple DVDs/mangas, the contents are usually generously wrapped with stuffing papers.

I made an order during the Tokyopop sale (early April) for Priest volumes 2-14. All of the volumes shipped since then except for Vol. 12 which, as of today, is still On Order From Manufacturer. I'm aware that TP was changing distributors and expected delays, but it's been over 3 months now. Are the distribution problems worked out by now, is this an unusual delay, or something else?

Some of the titles got into the new distributor later than others, and we are trying to bulk up on our book inventory also. I'm really sorry for the delay, know it's got to be frustrating. Both Viz and Tpop switching this year has made things... difficult.

Would this also be the reason for why I still am waiting for Kami-Kaze Vol. #2 to come into stock? I also ordered it during the last TP sale, but it wasn't released until mid-June, and it's never come into stock. Just curious is all.

[/ QUOTE ]

Seems like whoever packed kio's order, packed mine too! /images/graemlins/sweat200.gif

I've just opened a 15-pack package that was shipped on the 6th of this month (delivered few days back), and to my surprise, there was no inner sleeve (what TRSI internally calls it inserts (http://forums.animeondvd.com/showthreaded.php?Number=1381269))!

Besides two DVDs and a manga, I had three art boxes in that package: one full of DVDs, the other two are both DVD 1 + box ones. Two (full and a DVD1+box) made it through, but the third one got squeezed in due to its "weaker walls". /images/graemlins/sad.gif

Each of the boxes was wrapped with a one-layer stuffing papers. While the two DVDs and manga were wrapped together with the same one-layer stuffing papers.

... And that's all! The big extra space in the package wasn't filled with anything! Things were lined from side-to-side of the package, but the top and bottom where left hollow!

Not to pester you about this, Shawne, but I will probably be needing to ask for these insert(s) and appropriate stuffing papers explicitly with every order I'll submit! /images/graemlins/depresse.gif

If one of your orders is partial shipped by us, manytimes we will pull along any instock items for others.

Which is just what happened. ^_^ Today I received two boxes from TRSI, one of which was an entire order. The other contained discs from five orders. This was a pleasant surprise, as I have not received a shipping notice for any of these orders (dated 20 March, 2 June, 9 June, 6 July, 7 July, and the first of 13 July). Additionally, it seems that my second order of 13 July has also shipped without a notice. It is nice to receive these, but something is slightly wrong with the system, since the E-mail notices are not being sent (or at least received); I have not changed any of my information in the last two-plus years.

I did my normal ordering at the last minute around 8 sunday for the lovely sale. Got the usual e-mail but noticed that either I forgot to put in the geek code or something else happened as the discount wasn't applied. Any way to possibly fix that or am I basically out of luck due to how the system works?

You should give them a call. I once had a similiar situation and they advised me not to e-mail the information, as it can be more accessible to others.

[/ QUOTE ]Do not sent your credit card information to us by email.

There are two good ways to get the new card details to us - you may call us at 1-800-338-6827. Or, if you check your order's status on our web site, you'll see a link at the top labeled "Do you have a question about your order? You may send a message to customer service." That link will take you to a form that allows you to send a message to customer service securely (the page will load with an 'https' URL, indicating that the form and the information submitted through it will be encrypted using SSL). Using that form will also automatically include your order number so that CS will be able to match it up with you accurately.

Quick question here...
Shawne, do you know if when you will get the 2 Nadia colletions in, item #'s dns100 dns200...???
And also Animated Classics of Japanese Literature: Sound of Waves/Growing, item # cpmd2280...???
I've had them both on order for awhile now...
I called CS awhile ago about the Nadia ones and was told the the second collection was due on the 11th of July and far into winter for the first...
Any word would be appreciated...!!!

From the price changes, it looks obviously like a Geneon sale. Woot, though I now am in a quagmire due to my available funds. If I splurge during the Geneon sale, then I miss out stuff for a Bandai sale...

Unless there are some good weekly specials, Geneon is the safest sale for me - one title only, and for only one title, the shipping costs aren't economic.
