Not really that risque; she's wearing a plain yellow dress, and of course with her enormous bust size it make an ordinary dress look very sexy. The flip side of the centerfold has a couple of pictures of Misaki in skimpy outfits and a mini-poster of the crew in their bikinis (but not in G-strings or V-thongs; regular sport-style bikinis).

As bci110 said, not very. It's a full-on frontal image that extends down to around her knees. She's holding up the hem of the dress to about mid-thigh, and there's a fair amount of cleavage, as the dress either has cups or is very form fitting, as it wraps around under her breasts rather than just hanging down the front of them.

Well, eps. 1 of Elemental Gelade (dub only) served to argue against my buying the show, while the first eps. of Ugly/Beautiful (sub & dub) and the accompanying article left me still unsure whether to buy into it. I'm feeling a bit worn out on the heavy/serious drama/action stuff lately ...

I haven't yet, but that doesn't stop me from trying every month. For this issue I entered for the Gilgamesh set and last issue (May 2006) I entered for Volume 1 of the Rozen Maiden manga. I believe that they will draw the winners for the May contests around June 17.

Sorry to revive a slightly old thread. I just got my copy of NTUSA a couple days ago. Surprised no one mentioned the new section -- "I Love Anime, Japan-Style." It's a pretty interesting four pages on otaku life outside of Tokyo, which I've never read anything about before. I was pretty shocked to learn that some areas don't see new episodes of shows for weeks after they've aired in Tokyo. I dunno how I'd live with that...

Anyway, it's got a lot of sweet pictures and info. I'm gonna have to go to a maid cafe if I get out to Japan anytime soon. ^_^;;

But another reason to revive this thread is the e-mail I got today that offers a dirt-cheap rate on subscribing to Newtype. Says it's only open for 48 hours so I figured I'd post it. I already took advantage myself --

A year of Newtype USA for $75 (http://www.advfilms.com/newsletter/200606/ntusa/code.html)

Enjoy.

I got the e-mail too, but the special rate is for new subscribers only. I'm already paid up for the rest of the year, and I usually receive my renewal notice around October. Thanks for the link, though! /images/graemlins/catgirl0.gif

I did forget about that new section, but it is a pretty interesting article and worth the read. I also like the fan art that NTUSA displays every month. Some of those drawings are pretty good.

I wondered about this too, as I have a subscription that runs out in September. I called one of the numbers in the back of the magazine to ask and they said that it's applicable to renewals too and that they'll just tack another 12 months to the end of your run.

Indeed, but it just reaffirms that I can't draw worth a damn. /images/graemlins/cry00000.gif
