I have a few doubles that I managed to unfortunately acquire, and maybe a small number of shows I might want to sell outright as well. (Hyper Dolls I am looking at YOU /images/graemlins/tongue.gif)
Trouble is, I don't have a digital camera, and I wouldn't know how to use one if I did. I've seen plenty of auctions tht used Stock photos, but how do I go about finding them? I have yet to sell anything on Ebay, I've only been a buyer so far, do they explain how to use those things in their tutorials? (They kind of looked daunting to me) I'd actually like to sell a few things, but the lack of a camera/know-how has stopped me from doing so this far.

I've only done buy it now auctions but the information (including stock photos) is retrieved from the E-Bay database via the UPC # if im not mistaken.

Those stock photos are there because when you enter the UPC code, eBay has information stored from Muze.
When you sell something (particular DVDs), eBay gives you two ways to create the auction. One way is to enter the UPC code, and eBay uses Muze's information to include a photo, description and disc info on the auction. The other way is to enter all that info yourself.

Using the stock photos is okay but you go to watch out for mistakes and a lot of times they simply don't have any. So check out the photo to make sure and it might be a good idea just to get a cover pic off the net. TRSI is a great place to copy a cover pic to your computer and upload it to your listing. If you have a scanner you can also use that too.
Some don't trust the stock photos as many boots and scams use them. Just make it clear your selling legit copies and be very honest and discriptive of the items condition.

Agreed. It might be worth it to you to hack the $10 disposable digital camera from CVS (instructions on the Interweb) or buy a cheap digital camera for the task. You can get cameras as low as $50 retail and sometimes cheaper on eBay but I'd recommend looking 3 mp or up to get decent quality and maybe just buy something a little nicer.

Well when I did a couple of auctions on Ebay and didn't have a digital camera to shoot pictures of the items I did pick pictures that were representative of the item from the net and added the following text: "Picture is representative of the item, not the actual item" also be very descriptive of the item on your auction text /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif
