Are there extras above V1+Box, V2 and V3 that would make the Midori no Hibi boxset a "Premium"? Or is that just the way they marketed the thing over there?

It's "premium" because it has all three keep cases + the box that came with volume 1 instead of all three discs in a crappy alpha case.

Ah - thanks for that; I don't think we got the thinpak/brick/whatever version here in Australia.

It's sort of become Media Blaster's standard terminology for their R1 rereleases. The first rerelease tends to come in some manner of packaging better (or at least nicer looking) than a brick. Be it keepcases in a box, or the very nice 12K digipaks, or the Kenshin bento boxes, it won't be a brick. That's called their "premium" release.

After that they sometimes release a cheaper set in a brick (recently the super-slim alpha brick cases, which are controversial as packaging), and call it the "economy" release.

No, it's the kind where the discs overlap. See Kenshin, Berserk or Figure17 econo bricks for an example. I'd link a picture but I'm having trouble finding one. I remember getting one was a pain in the ass last time this was asked, so I should have saved it.

Oh, so its like what the Ranma 1/2 OVA re-release was packaged in. I don't have much of a problem with those.

Neither do I but some don't like the idea of having ot remove one dvd to get to another. Kurgome Communications: Memories of Earth collection is like that with two disk on one half of the inside of the case and one disk on the other half.

I decided to cancel the auction on this, I felt in the case of Midori Days, it is better to keep the series in its artbox than the brick. Grenadier is another series I'll keep as a "premium collection" over the inevitable "economy set" that comes out 7 months later.

In the case of Gokusen, the lack of an artbox has got me ordering the brick. I was so dissapointed that the "premium collection" didn't actually have an artbox when it came in, so I sold it when the economy set was announced.

Since I have the Midori Days economy set on Pre-Order at DVDPacific, I'll probably cancel the order, I have the Daphne in the Brilliant Blue boxset on it, but I think I can afford it when its released.
