<font color="blue">Welcome to the July edition of the Coupons and Deals thread.

When shopping, please remember to use the Affiliate links on the top of the page.
Thank you! /images/graemlins/happy.gif

<font color="green">What his Excellency Bulldog says:</font>
Please post all coupons, sales and deals (including misprices) in the thread.
But remember:
<font color="red">Do not post ANY Amazon.ca coupons here any longer. </font>- Chris Beveridge
<font color="red">Please Do Not Post Rightstuf.com Got Anime Newsletter Coupons in this thread! </font>- wolve
Thread guidelines:
Please post your reply to the appropriate subthread:
Coupons and Sales - updated 7/30 (http://forums.animeondvd.com/showthreaded.php?Cat=4&Number=1377257&page=0&view= collapsed&sb=5&o=&vc=1)
Deals and Misprices - updated 7/30 (http://forums.animeondvd.com/showthreaded.php?Cat=4&Number=1377260&page=0&view= collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=&vc=1)
The subject line of the post should be changed to indicate what retailer the offer is for, as well as the type of offer.
(Coupon / Sale / Deal)
Example: Coupon - Buy.com $5 off $25 of books
Note: "Deal" is to be used for specific items that are worthy of note from a particular retailer due to having the lowest current price as well as items with incorrect (i.e. extremely lower than normal) pricing. /images/graemlins/happy.gif
Also, in order to separate Canadian deals from those of US retailers, please add [Cdn] to the beginning of the subject line.
Examples:
[Cdn]Deal -
[Cdn]Coupon -
[Cnd]Sale -
(Thanks to MrDisco for the above suggestion /images/graemlins/happy.gif )

As DVDTalk puts it:
EXTENDED!! 15% off O-Day Sale! Save 15% off every order! Expires Monday, July 3rd, at 11:59 AM MST
Unfortunately there's no way to use this sale through AOD's referral link (or if there is, I don't know what the link should be), but you can find links on Fatwallet, DVDTalk and other places like that.
The link though DVDTalk (http://www.dvdtalk.com/coupons/2006_06.html#003395), a mod can replace this if someone knows how to link through AOD's referral.

Dollar General stores have all gotten a new wave of Bandai titles in during the last week and are selling them for $3 apiece. Here is what I've found in my travails:
Scrapped Princess vol 1
Cowboy Bebop vol 3
Jubei-Chan volume 1
Crest of the Stars vol 1 & 3
Spirit of Wonder
Tsukikage Ran vol 2 & 4
Gundam 08th MS team vol 1
Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz
Junkers Come Here
Melty Lancer vol 1
Mars Daybreak vol 3
Dice - don't know what vol, title was something about a rescue??
Geneshaft vol 2, 3, 4,
Arjuna vol ?
Betterman many random volumes
Big O I & II random volumes
G Gundam vol 4
Pilot candidate random volumes
Ronin warriors vol ?
Lots of good stuff if you need to fill holes in your collection. Scrapped Princess and volume three of Cowboy Bebop were very widespread - I saw them in every store I've checked. I know deals on cheap anime abound these days, but $3 a volume is rock solid. Finally got me to check out Scrapped Princess (I was very underwhelmed by the manga).
I had been checking for TMNT volumes that had shown up in these stores, and these showed up between visits, so it's really recent - within the last week.
Happy hunting!

Wow... nice find. When I went to order, I also noticed that the $10 off $20 Google Checkout coupon applies to BestPrices as well! They mention it at checkout: the first 1,000 customers to use this method can use the coupon CPerfect10 and get the $10 off. Awesome, that's $30 Google Checkout has saved me so far. And their service is really
Even though their shipping is criminally high ($6 /images/graemlins/stunned0.gif), I just got all of Haibane for $23.60 o_O $5.90 a disc works for me.
I had vols 1-2 way back but sold them off at a point when I was especially pissed at Geneon. Since I can get all four now for only a little more than the usual price for a single Geneon disc, hell, why not go for it again? Might as well see how it ends.

It's a shame Animenation's Canadian Shipping prices are AWFUL.

But anyway, it's still a really good deal, so I may bite.

Amazon FUNi preorders normally start at 30% off MSRP, while this one is at 50% off. I still think that there's something atypical there.

ADV handed out $5 coupons off any of their titles at Best Buy at AX. The coupons expire 07/31/06. This could be a good deal if used with any of their discounted titles like Maburaho 1 + Box ($9.99 - $5 = $4.99). I'll try to post a scan when I get a chance.

For DigitalEyes, if the coupons haven't been posted yet...3 of the coupons will remain the same, you just have to update the month.
So...
JULY2006 is $5 off $60
PREJULY2006 is $10 off $125
JULYUSED2006 is 10% off $50 used order
The only one you have to wait on is the $7 off $75 since that one changes month to month.

Amazon JP just increased preorder discount for DVDs from 22% to 25%. However, I don't think the additional discount is reflected on preorder items in existing orders. I'm not sure if they will adjust the prices for existing orders later on but I've reordered everything to make sure that I get the additional 3% discount.

WARNING: DON'T GET TOO EXCITED!
It says up to 45% off, and I was quite excited, until I saw the prices. First off, its about 25 random DVD's (Anime of course) and their prices are rediculous.
DDD.CA SUCKS in comparison to DDD.COM.
It's sad, but you can look here (and there IS free shipping)

Dollar General stores have all gotten a new wave of Bandai titles in during the last week and are selling them for $3 apiece. Here is what I've found in my travails:
[/ QUOTE ]
Let me see...Of the two nearest Dollar General, one had no anime at all, which did not surprise me for some reason...
The other one had (And these are all I remember right now.):
Escaflowne the Series Vol 7 (The next to last volume.)
Witch Hunter Robin Vol. 1
Stratos 4 Vol. 2
Melty Lancer Vol. 2
Argentoma Vol. 1, 5
Wolf's Rain Vol. 4
Banner of the Stars (Multiple Volumes, don't remember which.)
D.I.C.E.
Dragon Drive Vol. 7 and at least one other volume
Mobile Suit Gundam 08th Team Miller's Report movie
G-Gundam
Speaking of deals, if anyone can find, still in shrinkwrap, the 6 volumes of Betterman which have both the foil cover and Limited Edition cards (They are the ones with the sticker.), PM me because I am interested in getting them.
Thanks,
C.T.

Most likely the first half of the series. Bandai solicited an Anime Legends collection for Wolf's Rain and then split it up to two collections each with half the series at a later date.

That would be Wolf's Rain collection 2 (going by release date). It's the second half of the series and it's a brick (Anime Legends).

Amazon.com is still running its Buy 3 Get 1 Free sale on books and DVDs (looks like things with a base price under $10). So far, this seems to include just about manga except the larger, higher priced yaoi titles. Works out to around $7.50 per manga title or less, plus free shipping. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif
This sale does include manga preorders!

A quick search says yes; searching within the 4-for-3 category, I can find Tsubasa and XXXholic, and crunching numbers, you can get up to 42.5% off retail, so... damn, it's going to cost me more money...
EDIT: Actually, it appears to be spotty. I dug a bit more, looking for titles I've not yet ordered, and some aren't showing up at all, so YMMV.

You can stack it sideways. It's a box to hold the 4 single cases. It's just presented like a box that you hold sideways because it completely closes rather than being a slipcase type box.

I agree, I have made extremely large purchases during their bi-annual sales where a significant minority of my order was out of stock at the time, DDD has filled all but two of those back-orders and those two were removed from their catalog within days of my order so I can't fault them too much for that. They do not charge until they ship, so your money is not at risk.
