I like it better with scythe form, but this isn't too bad. I mean, at least it doesn't look like it has balance issues. And the facial expression looks great. And if you don't like it, can't you just send Alter a letter stating that you liked the original better? /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

With the increase in price over the Nanoha figure maybe they'll make the sword removable (like the Nanoha fig) and include the scythe in the package.
On another note for those that like figures with removable clothing it looks like the Max Factory Chitose Nanbu figure fits the bill. There was a rumor about this about a month or so ago and two weeks ago I found this post (http://maxfactory.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/2006/06/1_eeec.html) on Max Factory's staff blog.
BTW Gatts is that suppose to be Bob Sapp in you new avatar.

Although this isn't a major figure, I'll mention that a Bus Girl (http://www.amiami.com/shop/ProductInfo/product_id/59330) figure is being released by Tomytec.
Also for loli-moe fans there's the Solid Works Collection DX lunchbox (http://www.amiami.com/shop/ProductInfo/product_id/59318)
Last, although most people won't be able to get this, MoeSoul.com has two special colors of the Tomoyo After (http://www.happinetonline.com/NASApp/mnas/MxMSearchEngine?Action=prd_list_mall&PageNo=0&Sort =4&Change=yes&Where=mall&search_string=R.D+SELECTI ON+Vol.1+%C3%D2%C2%E5+%B8%C2%C4%EA&DispType=3&ROOT _CATEGORY=&DISP_NUM=10&BookMark=1&ImageDisp=1&Usua lly=1&SHOP_ID=0&SEARCH_SHOP_ID=0) figure.

There was a series of 1/8 scale Azumanga Cold Cast figures released about three or four years ago, but they are all out of production. The statues were done by Toy's Works (http://www.toys-works.com/showwindow/statue/adgk0001.html) and distributed by Beat (http://www.h2.dion.ne.jp/~beat/toys.html). You might be able to find them on Yahoo Japan Auctions and some stores might carry a few here and there, but tracking down all of them may be difficult (not to mention expensive).

There are also capsule figures and keychain SD figures for Azumanga Daioh. I've saw some during my last visit to Japan and on occation when browsing some figure sites (sorry, don't remember which one's off hand). Maybe doing a search on some of the sites in the first post may show them.
I couldn't get complete sets when I was in Japan, so I resisted the urge to get some of these. Just ended up with a cute Sakaki w/biting cat keychain figure.

Anyone hear about the RAH Blood+ figure coming out. I was checking out www.toyslogic.com (http://www.toyslogic.com) and they have it up for pre-order. I'm just wondering if the RAH figures are worthwhile to collect. If it is I might get them to order the Hazuki one from Moonphase. Also wondering if anyone have any info on this saber figure from Fate/stay.

As far as I know, both the Saber figure and a SD Rena (http://www.spring-c.com/higurasi/) (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni) figure were the event only figures by Spring last year. They should probably be announcing this year's event only figures sometime soon.
I know that sometimes event only figures get re-released to general public, but I'm not sure if they will remake that particular one.

Sitting Yukata

Also mentioned in the Pinky St. collaboration section of the site is the planned August release of the Animate exclusive Animate Tencho, Player 2 version.

Too bad, the Strawberry Panic and KiraX2 ones would be interesting.

GSC has updated their product page (http://www.goodsmile.info/product_gsc.html) with the Nov line-ups for GSC and Max Factory. Really happy to see more Tony goodness from Max Factory with the Blancneige figure. Hopefully they'll do the rest of the Shining Tears girls. For those intterested there's also a School Rumble keychain set by Alter coming in Sept.

That Max Factory Youcanalia (http://www.goodsmile.info/max061002.html) (probably nsfw) figure is nice. Have no idea who this character is but I like the figure. The spilled books are a nice touch and adds a lot to it.
One of the things I like about the Blancneige (http://www.goodsmile.info/max061001.html) from Max Factory is that it is a swimsuit figure that has got sand (okay plastic sand) under her feet.
I've been liking the bases Max Factory has been putting under their figures lately.

Kikou Majutsushi Enchanter is a Comic GanGan series by Izumi Kawachi. IIRC DMP announced the manga at AX. I like their subtitle of "Wagamama F-Cup Akuma". /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Here is the Square/Enix (http://www.square-enix.co.jp/magazine/wing/newbook/[/url) page for Gangan Wing books. Also here is the DMP page (http://www.dmpbooks.com/titles?n=58) for the manga, although it doesn't really say much. I wouldn't be surprised if this one got an anime eventually.

Nah, they are only doing US release figures so they can't really steal business from HLJ. They could steal business away from other companies doing US release figures like Toylet, Twin Moons, Entertainment Earth, eStarland, Big Bad Toy Story, etc... but not places like HLJ, Hobby Search, and Amenbo which deal in Japanese release figures.
Plus isn't the free shipping only on Media Mail items? Figures can't be shipped media mail, so the free shipping shouldn't apply.
I will add Rightstuf to the list on the initial post though.

what rightstuf did was right to list the maker and not the US distributor, like people list the makers of the FF toys as Square-Enix rather than their distributors such as Diamond Comics or Kotobukiya.

Haven't seen those mentioned yet so:
β’ More Rozen Maiden figure goodness from Yujin. The next one in the SR DX line is Suigintou (http://www.1999.co.jp/asp/GoodsDetails.asp?Bno=&It_c=10050397&Typ1_c=101&Typ 2_c=102&Typ3_c=451&Spage=1&SC=0&app_url=yoyaku101. asp) in September 2006 (click on the little pic to view the figure image in full size).
Hopefully the guys/gals at Yujin are going to consider a Barasuishou figure as well ^_^"
β’ Good Smile Company announced a *very* lovely PVC figure of Caren Ortensia (http://www.goodsmile.info/gsc061001.html) from Fate/hollow ataraxia. Titled Prologue Ver. I guess that means we're getting more than this one? Heck and here I was thinking the Caren released by Alter would be the only one that tempts me enough to break in and place an order for it -.- Oh before I forget, this Caren is slated for October as well.
Now a Bazette PVC would be lovely IMO.

Yup, It seems to be based on the Manga/Comic depiction of her though still nice.
The Wonda and Reset (Wonderfests mascot characters) cosplaying Asuka and Rei from Eva are probably my faves out of all those. (gotta love Mine Yoshizaki's Eva designs.) ^_^ Hope they see a retail release.

The Natsuki Robe figure looks pretty sweet.....
I don't know if any of this is common knowledge or not, but here's some figure news (to me at least) that I've picked up at Comic-Con.
- For those that missed out on the Alter Kos-Mos (like me /images/graemlins/cry00000.gif ), aaaanime will be releasing a domestic version in Feb. 2007.
- There is going to be domestic releases of the Konami Negima figures, and the Figumate figures in the Fall.
- A new figure company, UArt, is going to be releasing some awesome looking Hellsing figures. The one that's approximately 12" tall of Alucard standing over some kind of demonic something-or-other with his hair flying all over, really must be seen.
The larger Seras with Harkonen looks quite nice as well.

You also forgot to mention that Toynami will be releasing the Megahouse Bleach Figures. I hope they'll pick up the Potrait of Pirates as well.
One other thing is that Kotobukiya now has a US page for the Koto Club. I forget the URL now, but I'll be sure to check it out again tomorrow.
Organic had a lot of the Revoltech figures on sale. My friend got the Getter Robo and they were raffling off tickets to win a glow in the dark Eva 01.
Of course the best figures in the UArt booth were the Yuji Shiozaki resins which were, of course, not for sale. /images/graemlins/sad.gif

Anyone else purchase the Palm Characters set of Rozen Maiden Traumend figures? I'm kind of disapointed in them. The parts do not fit together very well and I still haven't figured out how to put the mirror together.
The 1st season mini figure set that came in the suit case (forgot which company put those out) did a much better job on them vs. the Palm Character set.
Also does anyone know if there is a chance for a reissue of the SR DX Suiseiseki figure? My Rozen Maiden figure buying all started because I wanted a full size Suiseiseki figure /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

I already had the Disgaea sets when N1 was selling them on their website. I wasn't too interested in the Rozen figurs though. I did like that one table that was selling all of thos resin figures. He has the Musashiya Ruri, the Volks Cutey Honey, and a couple of Ryomu Shimei 1/6 resins at decent prices.

I asked today and Toynami won't be releasing the POP figures. They stated that Mattel had the One Piece toy license. Unfortunately no one at the Mattel booth even knew what I was talking about when I asked them about One Piece. They were selling some Naruto figures.
The Kotobukiya us site is
http://www.kotous.com/
You can register on the site for the Koto Club to get Kotobukiya news and information as it comes out.
Besides Final Fantasy stuff, Koto was selling their limited edition Sera-chan figure which has blonde hair. I personally like the colors on the regular edition better so I didn't bother picking up the LE version (I already have the regular edition ordered).

how much of a problem and hassle is it to cancel the orders and get a refund to my cc... any hidden fees?
probably have to eat something due to exchange rates and difference in yen vs dollar since the charges went thru.

It looks like Orchid Seed is puttiing out their version of Ignis. The big difference from the others( GSC, Alter, Kaiyodo) is that Orchid Seed's version has some nipple action. Obviously the pics (http://www.getchu.com/soft.phtml?id=298325) are NSWF.

Finally the original Ignis figure is getting a completed release. I only wish they had done it in resin instead of PVC. Their cold cast resin models look much better than most PVC models. I guess I can still track down the original kit version and ask someone to put it together for me, but I didn't expect Orchid Seed to go the PVC route. Then again, I should have seen it coming since the made a PVC of their Kanu Uncho figure as well.

200 is probably a normal number for resin garage kits sold at hobby cons. If it's sold well the sculptor may try to get permission to sell another batch at a later con. If you don't mind and are able, would you take some photos of the bootlegs you have. I'm trying to compile more information on them. And I'm just a little curious to see if they suffer from similar recasting problems.
Also, I've seen further pictures from the SD Comic Con show held this past weekend of the Toynami booth. They had all of the PVC figures except Renji ( I really hope they just didn't have one to display of Renji) on display. The card sitting next to the Megahouse figures stated a 2007 release for them. They also had images of some of the various trading figures released in Japan. They're apparently getting a US release as well.

Alter has announced their Dec line up. Go to GSC'c product page (http://www.goodsmile.info/product_gsc.html) for more info. Looks like someone in Alter must really love TYPE-MOON as it seems like they (along with GSC) are releasing one of their figures monthly.

I took a look at the offerings for figs at TRSI, and I'm not convinced that they'll be able to get enough stock of whatever they're listing. For that reason, I won't order any figs through them until I'm convinced otherwise.
Plz keep me updated if you manage to get your pre-orders from TRSI. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

Another Vance update, which leads to more delays and some new news as well.
August:
Pinky:Cos Captain Animate 2 Player Version - (Currently Available as an animate store exclusive)
Wonder Festival Exclusive Pinky (Looks quite a bit like the GoFa Pinky)
Sept. releases
Pinky:Cos Ukata standing/sitting versions - 9/11
rm:Pinky Natsuna - Middle of Sept.
rm:Pinky Mayura - End of Sept.
Pinky:Q Rabbit Scooter - Repaint Version (no specific date)
Oct. releases
rm:Pinky Kaine - Mid. Oct.
Pinky St. Kira-kira Music Hour DS game - Oct 26th (The website corrected their mistake from the previous update and release date I had posted)
November~December
Looks like they are planning to re-produce some of the previous figures. No real details on which ones, etc.
It also appears they are planning a new Pinky to release (maybe just announce?) in December.
Finally, the PK015 Clothing Accessory package has been changed to an end of fall/early winter release.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that they are planning on selling the Yukata Pinky's at Wonderfestival and purchasing 2 or more Pinky items at the booth there they will give you a special cat mask (for the Yukata Pinky's) that will not be sold in stores.

I found some new pics of the upcoming MP-3: Starscream:
http://www.e-hobby.co.jp/cgi-bin/omc?&port=33301&req=PRODUCT&code=mp_03
Looks like they changed a bit of Starscream's color scheme and they are emphasizing his jet mode. Hopefully, his robot mode won't look too clunky.
Also, it's been confirmed that the pilot in the cockpit will be the mad scientist, Dr. Arkeville (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctor_Arkeville), from the tv series!

Solid Theater normally does a flyer announcement before they update their website. If the flyer went out in the past week, you would see the update on their website by the next week. The release date shown on RightStuf is for December and Solid Theater only has up to November listed so far.
Of course if it is a Japanese release in December, the US release probably won't make it out until January or February.
*edit*
I looked around at a few of the japanese figure boards that I normally lurk at and I haven't found anything yet so I guess an official release announcement hasn't been made.
Most of the talk on the boards was about the Tsukasa Bullet PVCs that Megahouse is putting out and Kotobukiya's November line up. The only Solid Theater talk was about some Loli figures for Comic Rin and Hinakan-Hi!
Honestly I think it's just a mistake now that I think about it. The November release from Solid Theater is Kamisaka Haruhi (http://www.solidtheater.co.jp/product/haruhi_1.html) from Happiness. Maybe they mixed up this Haruhi and Suzumiya Haruhi.

It was part of the CM Works C3xHobby event only (http://www.cmscorp.jp/infomation/event.htm) (scroll down the page a bit) figures. Released 20/8/2005 for 3000 yen each. I see them pop up on YJAuctions for 10,000~20,000 yen for both. I'd definitely hold out for the 10,000 yen auctions unless you really want it. He also gave out some paper coupons which he said were only a convention thing for now. The coupon (I'm assuming one time use)is for %10 off a single order over 5,000 yen between Aug 10 & Sept 10.

Throwing this out there but could it be due to oil prices. Don't plastics and rubber based products cost more since they have oil bases?

I've imported enough stuff using EMS to know that 99% of the time you will have to pay taxes and a handling fee. Once in a blue moon on small packages you might get lucky and pay nothing.

hey bud, if you order from HobbySearch, basically you're going to be hit by duty everytime. also, even when ordering 1 or 2 figures, EMS seriously bites into the wallet. when i i ordered SR Yakumo and LE Alvis Hamilton from them, the prices of the figures was decent but, EMS really jacked up the price PLUS i got hit by duty. i now stick with HLJ, much more Canada friendly with shipping cost and i rarely get hit by customs, which is nice /images/graemlins/catgirl0.gif

Solid Theater (http://www.solidtheater.co.jp/) is planning to release two figures from Hook's _summer (http://www.hook-net.jp/_summer/) . The figures are of Konami (http://www.hook-net.jp/_summer/character_i.htm#konami) and Chiwa (http://www.hook-net.jp/_summer/character_i2.htm#chiwa) . They showed them at C70.
Picture Of The Chiwa Figure (http://www2.moeyo.com/img/06/08/14/3/309.html)
Picture Of The Konami Figure (http://www2.moeyo.com/img/06/08/14/3/310.html) <font color="red"> (Has another NSFW figure in the picture) </font>
Solid Theater hasn't listed a price for them yet on their webpage, but from the Konami picture, the sign says 5250 yen. The release date is listed on their webpage as Winter 2006.

Alter had a few good ones. Honey and Clover was unexpected (both the Alter and Kaiyodo ones). The Nagi battlesuit version doesn't look as good as the Hikaru one did. The Type Moon set is looking good.
I didn't know the Caren and Sakura figures from GSC were going to be the same size as the Magic Girl Rin figure. I'm going to have to make some room for them. /images/graemlins/sweat000.gif
The GaoGaiGar, Mazenkaizer and Twin Drive Godannar look kick ass (to bad there are sold out most places).
Hiyorin hasn't put up there report yet, but it will probably go up on this page (http://www.hiyorin.net/wf06s-report.html) when they finish it.

Hmmm. The more I looked at it, I was starting to think it was a custom job, built off one of the Yoshizaki Angel XX figures. I wasn't aware Yoshizaki had done any MS Girls illustrations. After looking, I found a couple Zakus, but that's it.

AAA anime has put up the solicitation for Mikuru (http://www.aaaanime.com/cat.asp?view=item&code=4571184820761). The $74.99 MSRP is just /images/graemlins/knowital.gif /images/graemlins/depresse.gif...

Most places will probably be selling her for 50~60 which will be equal to the yen price before shipping (7140 yen is currently around 62 USD). So it's not too bad.

Yeah. It's not too bad a price.
btw, are they only gonna offer the Red-bunnysuit version? There's a Black-bunnysuit version also, iirc.

A black version and a white version to be exact. The red version is the general release version while the Black and White versions are for Chara-ani. We rarely get the alternate color versions over in the US. For example the Race Queen Tessa figure was only released over here in the yellow version although there were at least 5 color variations in Japan. Although we did get both color versions of the Tandem Twin Lynx girl.

black & red up for sale at HLJ.
So maybe only white is the chara special?
I dont know but bunny girls should always be black... otherwise they dont look like playboy bunny girls.

It seems that even NCS (http://mgrsti3030s.seamlesstech.biz/templates/frmTemplateR.asp?CatalogID=12046&SearchYN=N&subFol derID=165) is getting the Black version. So I guess I can poke around and see if it's possible to get it in America. I still doubt it since we only got one Tessa and one Chidori from Atelier Sai.
BTW, here's the white if you want to special order it:

Saw this as a kit from previous events and was quite disappointed back then. But it looks like Yamato will release Mine bluE #010 (http://www.amiami.com/shop/ProductInfo/product_id/61192) as a PVC figure in Nov. Arghh too many good figures coming out in the second half of the year.

Hadn't seen this variant yet so... link (http://www.animaxis.com/en/shop/product.asp?sku=141906%2D00). It's nice that they added a few changes instead of just changing the color scheme.

There's also another Tandem Twin figure on the way. One of his bunny girls IIRC. I'll try really really hard to remember to do this. I haven't been doing regular updates lately. Heck I have 12 new figures and I haven't posted any images for them yet. I'm such a slacker. /images/graemlins/sweat000.gif

Good news for Mahoromatic fans. It looks like Kotobukiya is going to put biker Mahoro (http://www.amiami.com/shop/ProductInfo/product_id/7057) back up for resale in Dec.

1) TRSI doesn't make decisions on what Kotobukiya releases in the US. Kotobukiya does.
2) The best way to get Kotobukiya to release something in the US is to contact them. Since they now have a US page (http://www.kotous.com/) it's really easy to contact them and let them know what you want. Failing that you should contact the distributor for most of Koto's stuff, Diamond Comics (http://www.diamondcomics.com/)
3) This figure is well worth the import price. Especially since the domestic price isn't too much cheaper than the import price recently. The only real advantage is shipping unless you are getting Kaiyodo stuff. /images/graemlins/happy.gif
