BONES officially announces their new fixture for the 6pm TBS/MBS slot on Saturdays when Blood+ winds up this October. It will be Ayakashi Ayashi (although the kanji in no way line up, we'll just have to accept that it's a liberal use the kanji)

Ayakashi Ayashi
Original Concept: Shou Aikawa, BONES
Director: Hiroshi Nishikiori
Character Design: Toshihiro Kawamoto
Concept Design: Takuhito Kusanagi, Atsushi Yamagata

The staff sounds interesting.

So is it safe to assume that this'll be another ~50 episode series like the other shows which have been in that timeslot? Hopefully it'll do better for BONES than, say, Eureka Seven.

Also, the fact that it'll be directed by Hiroshi Nishikiori has me very interested. This'll be his third BONES anime, IIRC (after Angelic Layer and Jyu Oh Sei).

Looks like it's samurai-themed or something. Not really my thing.

Could this be what happened to Mukoh Hadan or whatever it was?

Sho Aikawa = WIN, whatever happens (oh, and the rest of the staff isn't bad too; hoping Nishikiori either gets to use his Ikuhara-esque mindfuck skills or just gets a better script than Jyu-Oh-Sei, but this IS Aikawa we're talking about, it should be good...)

As long as it's better than Juuousei...

I'm looking foward to this, though hopefully in the near future we'll get the eposide count for the series, and hopefully Hiroshi Nishikiori gets more than 11 or 13 epiosdes like he did in Jyu-Oh-Sei to showcase his skills and the talents of other people working on this.
*crosses fingers for a 24 or 26 or better yet a 52 episode count*

It should be 50-52 episodes, that timeslot so far has only housed 50 episode long series (Gundam Seed, FMA, Seed Destiny and Blood+)

There was another series recently called Ayakashi. I assume they're not related. Nevertheless, it would be best to clearly distinguish them in future discussions.

I liked Jyu-Oh-Sei, and the fact that this is by the same director is what makes me want to see it.

I found Jyu pretty good as well. Anything from Bones is a "must see" for me heh.

I'm hoping the director will bring back Hajime Mizoguchi do to the music for this series. If this happens, I would be a very happy person, and it would be the icing on the cake in terms of production values.
