Since we're a few weeks out and the old thread had gotten kind of long, I figured I'd start us up a fresh thread for discussing the coming Otakon (http://www.otakon.com/default2.asp) . If you're looking for info on the annual Otakon gathering, please check out the newly split thread here (http://forums.animeondvd.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=1385503&page=0&view=colla psed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1) .

A list of Otakon guests for reference:

Artists & Manga: Kouta Hirano | Makoto Tateno

Music: MUCC | Nana Kitade

Production: Hirotsugu Kawasaki | Masao Maruyama | Kazuto Nakazawa | Nobuteru Yuuki

NA Voice: Christine Auten | Richard Epcar | Caitlin Glass | Kate Higgins | Yuri Lowenthal | Monica Rial | Patrick Seitz

Seiyuu: Ayako Kawasumi | Hidenobu Kiuchi

Web: Pontus Madsen & Christian Fundin (Little Gamers) | Fred Gallagher (Megatokyo)

For anyone interested in the concerts, the info is now up.
I really don't know how I feel about it, other than I'm pretty sure I won't be seeing any concerts this year.

There will be two shows. One on Friday and one on Saturday. I believe that both Nana Kitade and Mucc will be performing both days, and the shows will take about two hours.

Here's the kinda disturbing point. It will be held at Ram's Head Live(past the Aquarium), and there will only be 1500 passes available to each show. If I'm not mistaken, even main events in the BCC holds more people than that. So out of 25000 expected people, only 3000 will be at the concerts.

From what has been said on the Otakon forums, this club style atmosphere was requested by the artists.

Well, the location will definately weed out a bunch of people. That's an awfully long walk for an otaku dressed as Domo-kun in the early August heat.

I'm sure the musical guests want to ensure a packed house. They must like the "big fish/little pond" feeling.

Did it look empty when they used the arena other years? I didn't go, I have no interest one way or the other.

And BTW, what's the deal with the website saying there are still 10,000 tickets available? Wasn't it a MUCH lower number this time last year?

Last year there was this big fear of selling out because of the new cap,so everyone was in this mad dash to prereg; but it didn't sell out until the con so that fear isn't there this year. Plus the cap is 3000 higher than last year. I believe it will at least come close to selling out at the con.

There also may be some people who won't come because of everything else that is going on that weekend.

I don't know about the arena, but I do know that when I saw part of the Angela concert at Otakon 2004, there were quite a number of empty seats when I sat down.

Also, with the Indigo concert last year, that was held in the area where the rave usually takes place. Hence, I have a feeling that Otakon is trying to do something similar this year (a concert taking place in an area that's not main events), but with the area possibly containing more people this time around (as well as allow alcohol consumption).

With the pre-reg price being higher this year (as well as the fact that the cap has been raised to 25,000 thanks to the cosplay and the concert taking place at different venues this year), I think most people have decided not pre-reg just yet (or take a chance and register on-site this year).

Also....let's not forget that they eliminated group discounts for this year.

Combine all of these factors, and it's somewhat understandable that there wasn't a mad rush to preregister.

One thing that I've been wondering about.... is if/how they have adjusted the counter WRT mail-in registrations.....say, "on-the-fly" or at various intevals.

I think that that the concert venue will work out. It is an excellent venue for a concert. It is a little far away, but you can make dinner and a show away from the convention center. Power Plant Live is a great area for dining. Rams Head Live is a great concert venue from what I have heard. The venue makes me want to go to the concert even though I am not a big MUCC fan.

Tell me if this seems strange to anyone else.

Ok, Cosplay has been moved to the First Mariner Arena and the concert has been moved to Ram's Head Live, so wouldn't you think that would free up plenty of space in the BCC now for some of the other events?

Well according to a post by the AMV head, the AMV contest will be held in a room that only has 750 seats, and as of right now there will only be two showings. There will be overflow showings, but the finalists will not be shown in these.

Personally I don't usually watch the AMV's(I might peek in every once in a while),but I thought that they drew a pretty good crowd, but maybe I'm wrong.

Maybe when the schedule is posted I'll understand what they are doing with all the space, but right now it just seems confusing to me.

My best guess is that with two of the biggest events moving to different venues, Otakon decided that the entire ballroom wasn't needed for the other big programming that usually goes on in there (i.e. the AMV contest and a Megatokyo panel), so they decided to cut the room into smaller rooms this years.

As for the AMV Contest, while only screenings of the contest is understandable (most conventions only have two screenings of the contest), like everyone on the AMV board, I believe that Otakon is making a HUGE mistake by putting the AMV contest in a room that can only hold 750 people. Face it, with it being such a popular event, a 750-seat room is not going to be big enough to hold everyone that's interested in seeing the contest.

Shale
07-19-2006, 02:00 PM
that's true, and they should know it by now. Seriously, the first screening of the AMV contest fills up the event room, every time, every year. Why would that change? With only two showings, there are going to be even more people heading for it, and with 750 capacity...wow. Welcome to LineCon 2006.

I don't mean to seem petty, but I don't consider something to be rumor and conjecture when it is announced by the head of that area, and this was announced by the head of the AMV'S. It wasn't a rumor, but you are right, it looks like they might get another room, because for some reason there was confusion about the size of the room, and it doesn't seem that the con chair was actually aware of what room they had been put in /images/graemlins/knowital.gif
Hopefully though it will be changed, but (now this is rumor /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif) according to the same head of AMV's the schedules are already at the printer. Although the official schedule is never really official. Consider last year's deal where things kept changing right up to some event times.

Also, if changes do happen (and the AMV contest indeed moves to a different room), Otakon will definitely mention it via either a "schedule changes" flyer that comes with the registration bag or the message board that's by the information desk.

Pre-reg has been extended until July 24 due to problems with the Otakon Email.

Also it seems that the AMV's have now been moved to the largest video room available. It has alot more seating, although from what was said, it is nowhere near the amount of seating they had last year; but they are having two screenings instead of the one they had last year.

From what was said, it looks like main events (that was the ballroom right?) was split up to either make more video rooms or more panel rooms. I just hope they don't make the same mistakes they made last year. Like not putting the overflowing Geneon panel in a larger room even though it's full every year, yet they put smaller companies that don't come close to filling a room in the largest panel room.

I do have one question. Wasn't opening ceremonies held in the large main events room? I have never been to opening ceremonies so I don't know if it was very popular or not. Anybody that has been know if it fills the room or not?

They weren't at Otakon last year at all. Maybe, they had a booth in the Dealer's room. We don't know who is exhibiting or dealing, yet. We probably won't until the convention.

They stated on the forums that we should watch for the schedule some time this week. You'll have at least an idea of whose coming by then.

Also for anyone that cares, there are NO SIGNS allowed this year unless the actual character your dressing up as carried a sign.

I think I can announce this safely. I am doing a Panel for Otakon first-timers on Friday August 4th at 11 AM called Don't be an Otakon Idiot: Otakon Survival guide in Panels 4. It is going to be in part of the Ballroom on the 4th floor.

I went back and reread the panel list and noticed that Media Blasters is also not listed. /images/graemlins/depresse.gif Hopefully that's wrong cause I liked John's panel. He's funny and he never seems to plan anything. He just comes out and talks.

Has anyone noticed any other usual panels missing from the list.?

Maybe if they acually post the schedule or dealers list some time in the next 6 days, we will know what is going on before we get there.

I did ask about Viz and Bandai on the forums. I really just wanted to know if Viz was going to have a dealers room presence or not, but basically nothing I've asked about the dealer's room this year has been answered. My question basically was "Will Viz or Bandai be in the dealers room". The answer I got was something to the extent of they would be doing the east coast premier of some (feel free to insert name here as I have no idea)live action Viz movie. Why I got that answer instead of a basic yes or no is anybodies guess. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

EDIT: Yay, they posted the dealer's list pretty much while I was posting this, so maybe the schedule isn't far behind. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif It's only the dealer's list, not the list for the Industry room. I guess that Funimation will be in there again this year.

While we're at it: isn't it odd that neither Sagusa Japanese Books nor Odin's Monsters (two regular dealers at Otakon) are listed in the dealers' list. It makes me wonder if one of three things is happening:

1. they decided to focus on Anime Iowa instead of Otakon;
2. they'll be in the Industry room instead of the Dealers room;
3. Sagusa is taking Otakon off this year due to the recent death of one of its' owners.

It looks like a few more dub guests have been added.

Troy Baker
Colleen Clinkenbeard
Mike McFarland
Antimere Robinson

I would say that they were probably brought in for the Fullmetal Alchemist movie, and I hope that they are there for the late night voice actor panel cause Mike is funny.

Looks like the concerts on both day won't really conflict with most of the big industry panels. Only AN, Kadokawa Pictures, Digital Manga Publishing, Studio Ghibli, & Studio 4C are sheduled at the same times. Most of the guests panels don't conflict either unless you want an autograph.

There are several "industry" premiere panels but I'll assume those will be a sort of screen the upcoming releases thing. Geneon has a "What's New Geneon" panel on Fri. but then they also have a premiere panel & an industry panel on Sat. so I wonder what that first event is?

All in all the scheduling looks pretty good this year. Just have to plan for food & dealers' room in there somewhere for Fri. & Sat. as both days look busy.

"Busy" is an understatement.....

Geez.....

And here I thought AX 2006 was busy....

After 2004 and 2005....I should know by now that Otakon always finds a way to "keep me hoppin'". /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

As far as the schedule is concerned......what's up with 3 ADV panels (Peek & Greet, Industry and Fanservice) on Saturday?

Also....counter-programming rears its ugly head.....but given how many panels I am interested in....that's not too surprising.

Friday

All Your Toys Belong to Us
History of Gainax
- break-
Opening Ceremonies
How Anime Comes to America (posibly first 1/2 only)
What's New Geneon
ADV Premieres (only a sneak peek...say 15 minutes)
Right Stuf /images/graemlins/happy.gif
Either Voice Actors or -break-
Studio Ghibli

The rest of the day is not certain.....but Ultimate Hellsing (11:30PM-1:00AM)is a possibility.....depending on my "condition" by 11PM

Saturday

Podcasting by Right Stuf
-30 min break-
Evangelion (at least the first 30 min....if not more)
ADV Peek & Greet (if I leave EVA early)
ADR Direction or Funimation (will decide on Friday)
ADV Industry or Right Stuf Premiers (depends on what is being premiered)
AN Ent. / Kadokawa Pictures / Right Stuf Premieres
Bandai Premieres
ADV Fan Service or Voltron Special (first 60 minutes)
Geneon Industry Panel
Geneon Hellsing Ultimate Premiere
Voice Actors Uncut

Sunday (the slow day /images/graemlins/wink.gif )

Kadokawa Pictures Presents (?)

Ugh.......I'm feeling worn out....and the con hasn't even started yet. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Maybe I'm just being rather picky, then, because I'm not seeing a LOT of conflict on things I want to do, and I still have a few blocks to play with. But I think I'll be bringing a cot with me to the tRSi panel on Friday, since I'll be in that room for the rest of the night. The only thing I'm going to be sad that I will miss is the Voice Actors uncut panel Saturday night. But I can't justify spending $55 just for that.

Is anyone going to Otakon, but not planning on staying that late Saturday night. I'll give you like $10 for your badge if I can get it from you by like 10 pm Saturday night. Honestly, I don't know why, but I really didn't enjoy the con itself as much as I have in the past. I liked the bigger rooms for the industry panels, and I enjoyed the industry panels themselves. I really enjoyed seeing everyone again(well except for probably making a fool of myself last night), and the Dealer's room was pretty good. I'm not saying the con was bad or anything, but I just feel like something was missing, but I don't know what it was.

I actually had more fun at the baseball game than I did at the con, and I had a great time last night up to a point. It's the two hours that I can't seem to remember that have me a little worried. /images/graemlins/blush100.gif

So what did all of you think of the con?

Thanks alot. It's really funny cause I don't remember a damn thing from the time we all walked back into the convention center until I woke up this morning. I don't even remember posting to the forum that I made it to the hotel. Somewhere between here and there I got a nasty scrape on my elbow, but I don't remember that either. I guess I'm not as young as I once was, and I can't handle 5 shots and 5 drinks. That last one did me in.

I paid for it today though /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

Yet, I still managed to get back to the dealers room(ponders how in the hell I'm gonna get all this crap in my suitcase, and I stopped by closing ceremonies; but I didn't stay for the whole thing so I don't know if they announced dates for next year or not.

I'm with you as for some reason, I didn't feel all that great being there. Something, some aura or whatnot wasn't there and shit I was about to go home on sat night after the Geneon panel.

anyway, I had a great time at the ball game on fri night and fun hanging out with Dragonclaw, Christian, AJ, and the rest of the guys. The gathering was fun and AFTER Numerous Car bombs and stuff the night was sweet.

HAHAH like I told AJ.. My grand total for the dealers room.....15 bucks! on three volumes of TOUGH that I didn't have and won't be coming out here anymore /images/graemlins/cry00000.gif

I was surprised by how there was no line this morning for it, and how empty the room was. I would have figured the place would be packed if people had realized that Kadokawa was connected to Haruhi, and that changing the name of the presentation didn't necessarily mean they wouldn't be showing Haruhi. Which they did, after playing their trailer clips.

A few more people came in while they were playing it, but the theater was still mostly empty when the last episode finished.

I had a lot of fun at Otakon. At times I did feel like it just didn't have the same feel as last year, but I can't complain too loudly about it. I would've liked to been in the game show again but at least my response to the My Hime question made the whole room laugh (yes, I was the one who wrote that HIME stood for "HIghly advanced Menstruating Evil wenches"). Seeing the FMA movie would've made the whole con for me if nothing else good happened, I spent a bit more in the Dealer's room than I thought I would, but it's all good. I had a lot of fun going around the con with my trophy from last year and getting random people to take pictures with it. I'll post some photos later if they come out good.

I had a great time at Otakon. This year was a lot easier to move around in. on Pre-Reg pick up day, took me around 30 minutes to get my badge, which wasn't bad at all. Also, it didn't seem as congested in terms of moving around the BCC this time, and I liked the fact that more of the 4th floor rooms were being used which did help to spread out things.

Although I usually enjoy smaller cons more, this was a great con to come back too, since last year was the first time I had come to Otakon. And most likely, I'll already be planning for next year, so I can get a hotel early.

Personally, I think this played a large part in why Otakon 2006 felt a bit different to me.

After 2004 and 2005.....where just trying to move around on Saturday was a time consuming event......it was nice to be able to move freely throughout the BCC without feeling "closed in"......with possibly the sole exception being parts of the DR on Sunday (IMO, it felt like there was a lack of oxygen in that room /images/graemlins/sweat200.gif ).

That was definitely a nice change......especially considering that most of the panels/events that were of interest to me were being held in 1 of the 3 4th floor rooms. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

I can't help but wonder what I will think of Anime USA when I attend it later this year........especially since it's apparently MUCH smaller than anything I've ever attended. /images/graemlins/sweat200.gif

Heh.

I bet that's partly due to the Sheraton not being an "official" convention hotel.....despite being the closest to the BCC. /images/graemlins/wink.gif

However, it seemed like they were sold out this year......at least, I received a "no availability" message for that weekend when trying to book a 2nd room for someone else back in June.

While I'm not afraid of them selling out very early.....I am concerned about availability of the SPG50 Award rate plan (the one that I've used for the past 2 years) since regular room rates for either 2004 or 2005 (over $225 + tax per night) were at least $75 per night over the SPG50 rate plan. /images/graemlins/sweat200.gif

This was my first time going and overall I had a good time, funny enough spent more time in the dealers room on Saturday then in the panels. Did anyone else almost fall asleep during the Funimation panel? I love artwork and all but after 20 minutes of the head art director babbling about it I had to find another panel. And damn were Media Blasters the king of hentai in the dealers room, which apparently was working just fine for them since a wall of people were always around the table.

I've been going to Otakon since 99 and 06 was probably the worst. Someone changed the format of the schedule for the worst. Every time I needed to check something I have to open it out like a road map. There were mess-ups but the part about switching video 1 and 7 was pretty bad not mentioning how they chose video 1 (or is it 7? the lower level one) to show AMV. This area was already congested with people standing around taking pictures and after they had people lining up for AMVs as well as parody was just worst. There was no organization so everyone kind of started to rush in from all directions all at once. It was chaotic. The number of participants this year I don't think is that many more than last year but last year was better handled.

As for other things:
Dealers' room - A lot of Bleach, Naruto, Tsubasa Chronicle, & PoT stuff as usual. I didn't go to buy these old stuff so I was disappointed not being able to find new things. Prices for manga are pretty good. There were many booths selling them for $5 per and that's as cheap as you can get. Unfortunately, I lost interest in manga. I picked up a few pencil boards and korean dvds.

AMVs: They were alright but waiting in line for more than 1 hr was the first.

Masquerade: I didn't go for the first time. Didn't feel like walking to the arena in the heat.

Panels:
Fumination - I like the announcement but other than that it was boring.
ADV - They do have livelier speakers (like usual) and it's slightly less boring than Fumination. I like their announcements.
Geneon - Though they don't have announcement but their format is the best. They showed previews of their shows and asked trivial questions in between for prizes.

Fan Parodies:
Friday:
I enjoyed them until the crap I mean Crab battle 05. The following one was about kidnapping Britney Spears something I just had to walk out.
Saturday:
The parodies were good. I liked the Eva and Nesca ones that I've seen partial before. The shorts ones were also good.

Overall, I didn't enjoy the con all that much. I don't think I'll be going again next year.

Actually....I initially thought that having a pocket guide was a decent idea.......until I saw that it also doubled as the programming schedule. /images/graemlins/depresse.gif

Programming schedules should not be preprinted weeks or more in advance.....since such schedules are very likely subject to multiple changes.

I'm just glad that they had single sheets with "more accurate" programming info available at the Info Desk.

If Otakon wants to publish a handy pocket guide to the con.......go right ahead....as it did include quite a bit of useful info.

However.....for future cons, I hope they forget about including the programming schedule in any preprinted guide since it will have very likely changed........and simply have a stack of flyers with the most "up-to-date" programming schedule available for pickup at the registration booths. /images/graemlins/happy.gif

Well from the way things are going over at the Otakon forums, it seems that very few people liked the pocket guide. The publications guy has already started taking recomendations for next year, and he actually did bring up that maybe they should seperate the maps and the schedules into two seperate booklets.

youth

The pocket guide wasn't that bad once you learned how to fold it like I did so that it was only 1 row by 4 columns. But yea I think they'll be going back to the booklet style next year.

My only disappointment was not getting Ayako Kawasumi's autograph since it conflicted with the Funi panel & there was already a full line 30 minutes before her signing. They really should add a second autograph session on Sunday.

This was my second Otakon (went last year as well). I enjoyed it more this year than last year. I liked how much easier it was to get from point A to point B...once I remembered the video room switch.

I didn't even go into the dealer's room until Saturday morning...might not have made it there until Sunday if the showing of Fate/Stay Night wasn't cancelled. Went crazy with keychains and pins.

Yeah it really needed its own time for that, maybe Sunday since it was slim pickings then, I figured the guy would talk about his work for 5 minutes, then he kept going and going. Not to mention I could have sworn Dragonball Z got a boxset before Blue Gender yet he said that was the first one done. Was anyone else freezing in the convention center? I know during the Funi panel on my way out one of the workers was shivering and she was just standing in the doorway.

I'm still so tired from Otakon that I can't think straight to put together my post-con comments.

I loved the use of the 4th floor. I don't think I'd ever been up there before in my four previous Otakons. The panel room and video room up there were nice and big and uncrowded.

Dealers' room was great as usual. $5 manga is always a good thing. DramaQueen being there with several new titles was good, saved me the trouble of ordering them online. I just finished watching all of Prince of Tennis, so my goal for the dealers room was to come home with a really great PoT poster, but there weren't many to choose from and I didn't like any of those and I ended up with only a pencilboard and some idol cards. Soooooo much Naruto and Bleach merchandise! After seeing so many great Kyo Kara Maoh items at AnimeBoston, I was expected more of those at Otakon, but if they were there they were hidden behind all the Bleach and Naruto stuff (which I didn't want).

I was a little disappointed in the Yaoi Industry panel....I thought it would be a few different manga companies on the panel comparing notes, but it turned out to be just a pep rally for DramaQueen. I mean, where was DMP and Blu???? Best moment was a question from the audience as to how many guys were in the audience, and the guys all stood up and everyone applauded them!

Funigirls panel was quite good (no Bishounen Twister or Fruits Basket card games at this Funigirls gathering), because the two panelists were just there to talk about how things work on the inside of the company and to find out what people wanted to see licensed. The one panelist is in charge of pitching the shows to TV. When she asked what we wanted to see on TV, someone said, "More Case Closed," and she went on to explain in detail how she's pitched it all over the place, but it's basically unmarketable in the US. She said it got horrible ratings on AdultSwim and no network will air it in a kiddie block because of all the dead bodies. I'd always wondered about that, because I love the series and was completely mystified by it not being on the air, so it was interesting to hear the real story from the inside. Someone else in the audience suggested USA Network because of their tendency toward quirky detectives, but she said they don't do any animation so that was a dead end, too. After the panel, I asked her where she was pitching "Beck", and she said that was an easy one, she was pitching it to MTV and Spike, among others, didn't know yet if anyone would pick it up in the U.S., but MuchMusic in Canada was pretty interested already.

DMP's three panels were good. I was intrigued by the announcement that their Pop Japan Travel subsidiary was going to do a shoujo tour next year and I was all psyched to go, but since I still haven't recovered from the con I probably don't have the stamina to do a Pop Japan tour! I got to ask what DMP's top selling manga was, and the answer was that "Only the Ring Finger Knows" had sold the most because it's been out the longest, but the "fastest" selling of the more recent series would be "Yellow" and "La Esperanza".

Thumbs up for the Funimation art director (you gotta love his enthusiasm for his job) and thumbs down for the roadmap-style schedule.

And, geez, the dealers' room needs to be open longer hours. By the time I had a break in the list of panels I wanted to see, the dealers' room was closed!

Where were the "state of the industry" panels they've had on Sundays the last few years? I always enjoyed those and was disappointed there weren't any. Otherwise, the schedule for Sunday was pretty darn bare. Where is the company with the guts to have their panel on Sunday ("we saved the best for last") instead of cramming all the industry things into Friday and Saturday?

I kind of agree with dragonclaw's opinion that something was missing at Otakon, but I can't put my finger on it either. Maybe it was the oppressive heat and humidity (the weather was actually pretty good for a change). I had a camera with me but somehow couldn't work up the enthusiasm to photograph any of the cosplayers this time around.

Finally getting around to posting some of my pics, might post more later.

AOD Gathering (http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j205/Machineger4/Otakon%2006/gathering.jpg)
Liger! (http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j205/Machineger4/Otakon%2006/Liger.jpg)
The BCC was a bit crowded Friday afternoon (http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j205/Machineger4/Otakon%2006/crowded.jpg)
You can't make up some of this stuff (http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j205/Machineger4/Otakon%2006/greatestcity.jpg)
Guy Caballero of SCTV?? (will anyone get this reference?) (http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j205/Machineger4/Otakon%2006/caballero.jpg)
What's with posting 'BELIEVE' around the city? Of course those wacky anime fans put their own spin on it and then I put my own on it. (http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j205/Machineger4/Otakon%2006/relievit.jpg)
Me and the hot Monica Rial (http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j205/Machineger4/Otakon%2006/rial.jpg)
Can't wait for next year! (http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j205/Machineger4/Otakon%2006/nextyear.jpg) (by Sunday I was getting a bit silly in terms of picture taking)

With people posting their pictures, I might well post a link to my Otakon 2006 photo album.

Don't worry about it. At least there's another picture of me in my Negi Springfield cosplay on the Internet (and at least you got all of Negi's staff in the shot). /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

The civic pride campaign that O'Malley started around 2002. Believe in our schools. Believe in our homes. Believe in our people. Etc.

Speaking of the Geneon after dark panel. Did anyone happen to catch that guy who came in PANTING LIKE A DOG looking for a lost camera or something? That was the highlight of the con for me.

That was me also. Long story short, when I returned to my hotel room, I misplaced my camera bag in there. Thus, since I didn't see my camera near my stuff, I thought I left it at the BCC by accident. Hence, after changing into more comfortable clothes, I ran back to the convention center ASAP (as I didn't want to wait until morning to find my camera in case I did leave it at the BCC) and checked the place where Geneon After Dark was being held (since that was the last event that I was attending before I returned to the hotel).

BTW, can you please stop talking about it, since it is kinda embarassing (although I am going to mention the incident in a convention report that I am writing)?

Glad to hear you found it. My friend and I were worried that the poor guy would die or something from being so distraught. /images/graemlins/stunned0.gif
