The SITACon Convention Committee is proud to announce Central New York’s First anime convention! Held in Utica, NY using three buildings at the State University of New York Institute of Technology (SUNYIT). SITACon is the FIRST anime (Japanese animation) convention in the Central New York area.

The convention is being held on October 6th through the 8th of 2006. The convention is described as a celebration of all things anime and manga (Japanese comic books), and SITACon will be one of the first conventions to completely embrace podcasting, audio programs distributed over the internet, much like radio on an on demand basis.

The SITACon Convention Committee hopes that this event will help the anime community and industry gain wider exposure in New York State.

About SITACon Convention Committee: The SITACon Convention Committee started out as an idea by SITAC (SUNY IT Anime Club) and started with members exclusively from the club. After the idea became more of a reality the Committee opened to persons outside of the Anime Club in the interest of bringing a convention to the area.

Currently we have announced that Entertainment System will be appearing as a Musical Guest.

So who's going to SITACon, Central New York's First Anime Convention?? I know there are some people in the NY region that have been looking for a convention to go to near them ever since Big Apple Anime Fest... unfortunately is no more. Well SITACon is perfect for you!!!

Close to home, cheap hotels, and THREE BUILDINGS!!!

SITACon is located smack dab in the middle of New York State in Utica, easily reachable from NYC (only 2 - 3 hour drive by car, and only a few hours by bus or train) Did I mention Utica has both a bus station (shortline and greyhound) and a train station (Amtrak)?? So even if you don't drive you can easily get to the convention!! It also has a local bus system that stops regularly at the convention ground zero.

Head over to http://www.sitacon.com for more information. And don't forget to pre-register by sept 22 for just $35 for a three day pass!!! Just so you know, really cheap hotels. Tired of paying over $100 a night for a convention, again SITACon is for you!!

Visit the website for more news as it hits the fan!! http://www.sitacon.com
